We went for brunch and everyone loved their food! I enjoyed the delicious chicken and waffles - they were so good and everything tasted so fresh. The rest of our group tried the empanadas and pancakes which were also very tasty. Don't forget the mimosas and the scenery is spectacular from the outside tables. We will be back and thank you so much.
We dined here on a quiet weeknight for a birthday, it was our first time there and were excited to try it out! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, beautifully plated, and fresh. The charred octopus small plate was one of my favorites but the whole crispy snapper was also amazing, perfect for two to share with a side.
The downfall was the service. I’m hoping it was just an off night, but it truly ruined the experience. Our waiter was very friendly and nice but we got our drinks only a few minutes before our entrees, even after ordering several appetizers. We were at the restaurant ready to pop some champagne and celebrate, but had to wait a very long time which really downed the mood. We also had to ask for plates, silverware, etc at all points of the night.
Overall I’d give it a second shot because the food was so good, it was just disappointing.
Excellent service, good, high quality food. Not cheap, but very good. We had breakfast, brunch and dinner, as this was our hotel restaurant. Servers were very friendly. Sad to leave!
Excellent food both dinner and breakfast. Somewhat expensive in keeping with its location in Conrad Hotel. Relaxing setting and lovely view.
Overall the food was good and fresh, however the service still needs a little extra fine tuning
Atrocious service. So much potential with a great location on the beach and inside the Conrad. Really disappointing.
The restaurant did not acknowledge the reservation request made in Open Table for outside seating.
Food was very good. Plates came too quickly and didn't leave enough time in between courses.
First time there. Beautiful night outside. Great service . A J was terrific!
Our waiter Jesse was awesome . Great food . Chef brought out charcuterie and cheese boards and explained everything
We were a party of 3 local couples that dined here Sat evening. We were seated outside which was lovely. We all shared several tapas plates and enjoyed all of the food. Grilled octopus was fantastic, fresh raw oysters, mussels, brussel sprouts with bacon were some of the items we really enjoyed. However, the service was very lacking. The waiter kept disappearing and took forever to bring wine after several attempts at ordering a 2nd bottle. I finally mentioned it to one of the servers delivering food and she simply said "well we're busy". It was pretty empty inside (2 tables) and there were some vacant tables outside as well. It did not appear to be so busy that the service would be that slow and unresponsive. We will give it another try because we liked the food, but hope they will get their act together with the service.
Great location on the beach beautiful
Did not meet expectations unfortunately. Maybe better at breakfast or dinner but this review is based on lunch. Pretty view with a large bar and very eclectic menu.
Much more of a casual beach restaurant you might find next to a pool that is trying to be fancy but misses the mark. Furniture is clean line, modern appearance and the space looks like it can be hosed out as there are not soft surfaces anywhere.
Parking took 10 minutes to get through to the $20 valet (discounted to $7 if validated by restaurant) due to guests - not for the restaurant. We were the only table in there inside for an hour, with only one other sat outside - two parents with kids in their bathing suits. The Cuban was a good sandwich but definitely not a Cuban. Cold cuts, missing the mustard, the pickle on the sandwich and on the plate were crispy cucumbers but had no flavor and neither did the cheese. Overall a bland filler. Service was friendly but there are too many good restaurants locally that have it figured out. Unlikely either I or my guest will give it a second chance.
This place, while beautiful and located across the street from the beach is a train wreck. Two very inefficient young hostesses acted totally "put out" when approached for checking in, our outside table was nice but it took over 15 minutes for a waiter to come over. Three times , someone else's order was delivered to our table and the young waiter, while nice enough, disappeared for long periods of time like "Where'd he go???"
Too many other good places to make this mistake again...
The food was excellent. Beautifully presented and both original and comforting flavors. However, on a Saturday 8:00PM reservation many menu items were not available anymore. The service was cordial and friendly while very inefficient. They would never clear the table before bringing the next plates, we had to ask repeatedly for a glass of water, they never came to chekk if we wanted another drink while our glasses were clearly empty...
The service was very bad . The kitchen had there share of problems not having many items on the menu and the waiters not knowing they were out of certain things
We had a great meal and great service. No complaints on anything
You have to try this place!! We chose this place for our first night on vacation and it was absolutely phenomenal.
Drinks were fresh, we shared all our plates... we got octopus (with fantastic smoked beans), pork belly, beet salad, Brussel sprouts (with pancetta, apples and a truffle honey) and tagliatelle (with lumps of crab). I’m not a pork belly fan but my boyfriend loved it. All other plates I thought were were fantastic. Bursting with flavor. The service was also fantastic (Arryonna was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive). Manager checked up on us as well. It’s priced on the higher side but the food quality is very well worth it. You have to try it when in Ft. Lauderdale!!!
I had made a reservation online and on arrival the hostess tried to put us on a high top. I politely explained that I wouldn't be comfortable at a high top and even though there were at least 10 vacant tables she said they were all reserved. I explained that we too had a reservation and presumably their other reservations, like me, hadn't specified table or high top - it's certainly not an option on OpenTable.
We sat at the bar instead and watched all but one of the vacant tables remain empty for the 90 minutes we were there.
There's no doubt the chef knows what he's doing - the food was very good. The small plate tuna lived up to its name and was really a tiny dish, but otherwise great food.
The service was poor. Although the place wasn't busy the servers and bartenders were all in a state of stress! The menu said that my cocktail would come with cucumber, mint and lime but actually came with none of them. The cocktails were pleasant but very weak.
Comfort is number one on my list of requirements and I was so disappointed with the attitude of the unaccommodating hostess that I tried to call the manager. I left a polite voicemail with my name and number explaining that I wanted to pass on feedback but nobody (3 days later) has bothered to call me back.
It’s a nice place but the decor misses the mark somehow. It’s also expensive for what it is. I would take the Lobster Bar and Sea Grille every time and even Morton’s over this place.
Beautiful place. Very average food. Their brunch and late afternoon menu is very limited with very basic items. Their avocado toast was not special. I hated the presentation of my salad. Our appetizers came out after the main dishes, and every dish was brought out separately. My family could not eat together. Completely overpriced. Nice view. Definitely not going bck.
We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The wait staff was courteous and knowledgeable. My only criticism is the valet parking charge. To pay $15 plus to park your car to eat at a restaurant is absurd. This charge would make me hesitant to recommend the restaurant to all of my friends. The valet price is the cost of a lunch entree and we had two cars of friends.
Terra Mare needs a lot of TLC before they can start charging these prices and make it in the Fort Lauderdale area. Mediocre food and inattentive service does not help. The manager Christopher was very helpful however but they need to get their staff on the same page and get their chef in line with taste and food quality that people expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Restaurant is very beautiful but would not go back until they fine tune the service and the food. It’s a shame that Fort Lauderdale caters to the tourist crowds and doesn’t think about all the local tastes and use local ingredients and food that people have come to expect in South Florida.
Great ambiance, people were very nice, service excellent and food delicious! Went when it was cool and dark outside but would love to go back when the sun sets later as I would love to see the view of the ocean from the outside dining space!
Everything about this place was a plus. Great view of ocean. The only criticism is that the meal portions were on the small side for the price. The food was truly excellent though. They need to hold onto this chef.
Spoke to the managers who both had a bad attitude and were rude even after spending $1000.
Food was amazing, definitely try the duck even if you have never tried duck you will be pleasantly surprised. Cocktails on point👍 Service still has some kinks to iron out, with a new restaurant that is to be expected. View of the ocean is great. They need to bring back validated valet parking. Ask before you valet!
Menu is divided into meat/veggies and seafood. We had 2 of their quick small plates and 4 of their appetizers and finished with 2 desserts. We left super full for 2 people. Highlights - calamari, scallops and their El Camino cocktail
The problem was that the service was too over the top. Every time I put down my fork the servers would rush over and try to take my plate. Also, never clear one person's plate while the other is eating. I felt extremely rushed! I even went back for breakfast two days later and the guy actually tried to take my plate while I was putting food in my mouth! I wasn't finished but felt horribly rushed. Maybe they are trying to give good service, but you have to let people relax and feel welcome. Trust me, we will let you know when we are finished!!!
We love Ben the bartender and usually sit and the bar and look out at the Ocean
Dad's birthday! Was lovely!!! Delicious food and lovely atmosphere.
1. The youngest child's (4-year old's) food was last to arrive. That's just plain inattentive and insensitive. 2. Also when I ordered oysters, after a while the waiter came and asked if I wanted east coast or west coast oysters. Isn't that something he could've asked to begin with? I sense a lot of inexperience at service at a very high priced joint. 3. When I booked the table, the menu made it look like it was all kinds of seafood. But when we got there the only thing we were offered was breakfast/brunch menu. Entirely not worth the cost or investment of time for us!:(
Second time there , terribly understaffed, food was good .
This was my second visit and did not live up to the first excellent visit. On arrival the hostess was on the phone and kept us waiting quite a while without apology. Valet parking (which had been free our first visit) we only learned upon leaving was now $15!
Food was OK but one dish was cold (when it should have been hot) and nothing was really special. Service was pleasant but not really professional.
The wine selection listed two different Chardonnays by the glass but both were unavailable (although full bottles were apparently available).
This is a new operation that clearly needs management present, interested and involved.
Lots of potential.
Service was the worst I’ve experienced in my 20 years in south Florida. Nothing more to say, would not recommend nor would I go again
We loved it! Great food, fresh light seafood options and right on the water! The staff was friendly and helpful and the manager recognized us from a different restaurant he had worked at! They made us feel like we were at home and we really enjoyed our night. We will be back!
We went for a Christmas friends' get-together. The food was excellent. The service was some of the worst and I was shocked considering the reputation of The Conrad. The terrace was nice for outdoor dining, the lighting inside felt sterile, like hospital lighting. It was not busy and staff were just standing around. We had a table of seven and they gave us a server-in-training for most of the time there. We all agreed that we paid WAY TOO MUCH for what we endured. We will not go back.
Lovely great place and vibe
It's not that I want to be fussed over but if it's my birthday celebration and I drove 30 miles to get there, the restaurant is virtually empty for brunch, at least do a little extra than just saying Happy Birthday 2-3 times.
The food was very good, Chicken Waffles and Salmon Benedict were winners but nothing out of the extraordinary. The restaurant has a nice vibe, perhaps at night it is more lively. I would try it for an evening function, happy hour, business dinner or a stop before a movie. The staff was friendly with good service.
The downside, a poor attempt at winning me over to stay longer on my birthday... perhaps a little dessert, celebratory piece of chocolate, a candle on a plate... a n y t h i n g?? Maybe next time Terra Mare.
Food was so salty and over spiced I couldn’t eat it - sent it back ordered something else which was also over salted - I don’t mean slightly over salted - but to the point it was inedible
