About Terra Máe
Terra Máe translates to “mother earth,” a name that perfectly captures the far‐flung inspiration for our five‐star fare. Always fresh, and often locally sourced, our menu isn’t dictated by region or style; we are restrained only by our imagination and our adventurous spirit, our favorite flavors and those we’ve yet to discover. New American, new again.

Terra Máe Ratings and Reviews
No linen on the tables. The service could have been much better for the cost. Had to ask for utensils for appetizers. Server did not know proper wine service technique for tasting a $150 bottle of wine. Steak had a demi glaze sauce that was over powering and too much sauce. High quality steak should be a stand alone not swimming in sauce. The carrots gnocchi was the best thing I ate. The Thai Lobster Bisque was not creamy or thick. Good tasting just not a typical bisque. Coffee was average quality. $450 for four people...we expected better :-(
This was our third trip to Terra Mae. Food, drinks, dessert and all are creative without being overly trendy. We started with a goat cheese and pesto ravioli appetizer that was sublime. I had a wonderful lobster / seafood soup, and my wife had a Dwell salad that was garden-picked fresh fruits and greens. Like I said - nothing out of the ordinary from a concept perspective (I had a filet, she had grouper), but the sides and sauces were sublime. (The horseradish mashed potatoes were killer.) Then there was a chocolate dessert with chocolate / coffee ice cream and a fresh made caramel that was lovely. A highlight is their Temperance cocktail, which uses a smoked paprika rye. Delightful. Great staff - great service. There was a big table, so it was a touch noisy. We shall return.
Terra Mae is an unexpected gem in Chattanooga! We were visiting for a couple of days and, because of the reviews, decided to check it out. TM did not disappoint. The food and service were outstanding and the intimate patio perfect for a fall evening. If going, arrive early and go sit a spell in that richly appointed, dark and cozy bar before your meal. The whole experience is made more inviting by the interesting and colorful decor of the Dwell Hotel where Terra Mae and the Midnight Matilda bar are located.
We were there from 6pm to 8:15pm. Our food took over an hour to arrive. The sauce on a very expensive steak waa way too salty. Cauliflower augratin came out with the second course. All the beers were luke warm.
Just over all bad. I do not mind spending a lot of money on dinner but not when the food is sub-par.
One of the best dining experiences I've had in Chattanooga. Waitress and staff read my requests from the reservation I made and immediately catered to our needs and gave us some complimentary wine for my wife's birthday.
The hazelnut crusted brie appetizer was absolutely incredible.
Food was so unique and delicious. After eating here once I want to go back and try everything on the menu.
6 stars 6 diamond evening everything was perfect from the Hostess feserving the perfect table to Nicole making the best drinks at the bar. To Madison our server pre pouring our special wine at the table before our arrival Kudos to the Chef making my dinner selection without onions
Thank you again Giovanni
My boyfriend and I were visiting from Atlanta for the weekend and enjoyed Terra Mae for dinner Friday night. We were blown away by the food, cocktails, ambiance, and service. Definitely unexpected to find such a gem in a small town. Highly recommend- you won't be disappointed!
Not sure if my expectations were too high, but I was disappointed with the "Chef's Table" offering. Meat was overcooked and wine was sub-par. Although we had a really nice waitress, she knew nothing about the menu items or the wine. All in all, we had a good experience, but the food was just "ok." I would say go for the regular menu over the Chef's table experience...maybe that would help with the quality of the meal?
Hosted my brother and his wife, in from Atlanta where they have dozens of 5-star places from which to choose. They adored everything about Terra Mae: the hidden, quiet intimacy, the drinks, the Charcuterie, main courses and desserts. Our server was attentive without disrupting our conversation. Valet parking was upbeat and quick. Adore this place. What a hit!
