Oxtail Ravioli, Pork Osso Buco, and Roasted Oyster Mushrooms were EXCELLENT. Service was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was a real treat to have such a good restaurant in the Dwell Hotel, but Terra Mae is well worth visiting on its own.
We travel often to many cities: NYC, LA, Santa Fe, Atlanta, San Francisco. We are from Chattanooga and yet I cannot give enough accolades to Terra Mae. It was my wife's birthday so we wanted a great evening. Vickie our server was simply the best. We will return often to Terra Mae.
The food was amazing but the waitress seemed bothered that my table only wanted salads. We were just stopping in so I could take people who have never been to show them what a cool place it is. The waitress just seemed annoyed.
Prior to new owner, loved food and environment, decor. However service was very poor. Haven't been in a year. Total change now with new owner. Do not care for decor..midcentury modern. Almost creepy feel with manquins. Food was just mediocre. 10 oz steak is $50+. However, service was greatly improved. I'm very disappointed as I really love this building and history and want it to do well.
Wonderful meal excellent service
Took my mom for her birthday and the food was great and the service was wonderful. Will definitely be back.
Celebrate friends birthday
Overall it was disappointing from our previous visits here . Very limited menu with no specials to supplement. Only 4 entries available. Osso Bucco was delicious. Other food was good but nothing to get excited about.
This place has won my heart!!! Love the atmosphere! Food and drinks were spectacular! Our waitress recommended great food and perfect wines to match! The bar on the other side is also amazing and unique!
Terra Mae was an excellent choice! I had heard and read great reviews about it, and it exceeded our expectations. We will definitely return!
Great food! Wife and I loved it. Had a wonderful time
We had a fabulous server Vicki was present, knowledgeable and personable. Age 40 to 70 plus had a wonderful evening filled with fabulous food and ambience.
Terra Mae is superb! It has a creative urban vibe... Chic casual... The food is likely the best in Chattanooga. Most any foodie will find the flavors dancing on their palate, and for the traditionalist, the filet can’t be beat... We can’t wait to go back!
No linen on the tables. The service could have been much better for the cost. Had to ask for utensils for appetizers. Server did not know proper wine service technique for tasting a $150 bottle of wine. Steak had a demi glaze sauce that was over powering and too much sauce. High quality steak should be a stand alone not swimming in sauce. The carrots gnocchi was the best thing I ate. The Thai Lobster Bisque was not creamy or thick. Good tasting just not a typical bisque. Coffee was average quality. $450 for four people...we expected better :-(
This was our alternative to cooking Thanksgiving dinner and it was good enough that we will consider making it a Thanksgiving tradition. Excellent food, ambience and service.
Thanksgiving was great! This was our first time dining out on the holiday, and it was defiantly not a disappointment. Perfectly paced... Creative seasonal fair... delicious.
Went there for Thanksgiving.. they advertised a traditional thanksgiving meal. That wasn’t the case.
Turkey was dry. Filets were good, but everything is heavily salted.
Prices a little extreme for the quality. Not enough choices.
Won’t go back.
Ummmm, yummm! Great Service — friendly and helpful. Excellent food — interesting menu and flavors. Casual, yet upscale. What’s better than that?!?
Fantastic food with a great setting. I would recommend this spot to anyone who loves great food with a mid-century feel environment.
Excellent dinner! One of the best meals I have ever had anywhere
Succulent sea scallops, carrot gnocchi was so good
Always a great place for dinner! We eat here every chance we are downtown. Great food and wine selection.
We had a wonderful night with some of the most well prepared food we’ve had in a while. The atmosphere felt fun and alive with the plants growing on their walls. Definitely take your significant other for a great date night.
Looks like a scene out of a Wes Anderson movie. The food was amazing and the wine was delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and setting.
Everything about this restaurant was 5 star- food, service, atmosphere
Good food. Good service. Downtown Chattanooga
Enjoyed the updates and new menu.
A wonderful meal with great family and friends and an easy walk to The Memorial Auditorium. Family were also guests at Dwell...a perfect choice!
This was our third trip to Terra Mae. Food, drinks, dessert and all are creative without being overly trendy. We started with a goat cheese and pesto ravioli appetizer that was sublime. I had a wonderful lobster / seafood soup, and my wife had a Dwell salad that was garden-picked fresh fruits and greens. Like I said - nothing out of the ordinary from a concept perspective (I had a filet, she had grouper), but the sides and sauces were sublime. (The horseradish mashed potatoes were killer.) Then there was a chocolate dessert with chocolate / coffee ice cream and a fresh made caramel that was lovely. A highlight is their Temperance cocktail, which uses a smoked paprika rye. Delightful. Great staff - great service. There was a big table, so it was a touch noisy. We shall return.
We were visiting Chattanooga when we found this restaurant. It was great for a nice dinner out—well worth the money we spent. Our server gave great suggestions, and the food was incredible. Cocktails were complex and interesting.
The filet was absolutely wonderful as well as the pork chop. Appetizers were very good as well. And, you can bring you own wine! Mashed potatoes need a little work. Will definitely return.
The dacor, food and service was fantastic. I’ve never had swordfish prepared so perfectly. Try the Thai lobster soup.....
I went on a date with my wife. The atmosphere was very pleasant and clean. Our food was amazing and there were some interesting and tasty cocktails. 10/10 would reccomend to a friend.
Terra Mae is an unexpected gem in Chattanooga! We were visiting for a couple of days and, because of the reviews, decided to check it out. TM did not disappoint. The food and service were outstanding and the intimate patio perfect for a fall evening. If going, arrive early and go sit a spell in that richly appointed, dark and cozy bar before your meal. The whole experience is made more inviting by the interesting and colorful decor of the Dwell Hotel where Terra Mae and the Midnight Matilda bar are located.
Always great food. One of my favorite restaurants
This was a great find. Food well done with great use of herbs and sauces for flavor. Great ambience/setting/art and decor.
We were there from 6pm to 8:15pm. Our food took over an hour to arrive. The sauce on a very expensive steak waa way too salty. Cauliflower augratin came out with the second course. All the beers were luke warm.
Just over all bad. I do not mind spending a lot of money on dinner but not when the food is sub-par.
Very good overall. Nice little place in downtown Chattanooga - a good change from my usual spots. Will definitely go back!
One of the best dining experiences I've had in Chattanooga. Waitress and staff read my requests from the reservation I made and immediately catered to our needs and gave us some complimentary wine for my wife's birthday.
The hazelnut crusted brie appetizer was absolutely incredible.
Food was so unique and delicious. After eating here once I want to go back and try everything on the menu.
One of the best dining experiences ever! Amazing and beautiful plates.
My baby loved the food, and thats all that matters.
