A Total Disappointment – Not Worth the Hype I had high hopes for this modern American restaurant after seeing so many glowing reviews on social media… but what a letdown. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was nothing like what’s advertised online: unbearably loud, to the point where normal conversation was impossible. The supposedly chic, intimate vibe felt more like a crowded cafeteria. As for the service – practically nonexistent. The staff was indifferent, and the manager was nowhere to be seen, as if deliberately avoiding any customer feedback. Then came the food, which was the biggest disappointment of all. The Wagyu carpaccio was overly fatty, drowned in a cloying mayonnaise that completely masked the flavor. And the lobster tacos? Clearly defrosted, limp, bland, and utterly forgettable. A waste of ingredients. All in all, a noisy, flavorless, and soulless experience. This place sells a dream on Instagram but delivers nothing but disappointment on the plate—and at the table.

Food was not that good and cold coffee is served in wide cups and gets cold quickly the special bloody Mary was awful. Very spicy terrible.

service was outstanding. table was too small for 2. restaurant was too crowded. food per plate was not sufficient. salmon too salty. 2 front door entrances confusing. once & done experience.

Waiter was absolutely fantastic. Staff was nice upon entry and wasn’t in a hurry to have us leave after we finished our drinks. Food is fantastic.

The staff at Terra were top-notch. The manager and waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure that my husband and I were satisfied. (We were initially seated at a 2-top, but we were asked to move to a larger table about five minutes in. At this point, we hadn’t even ordered drinks yet. We were told that for our trouble, our first round of drinks would be on the house. After moving, multiple people checked in on us to make sure we were okay with moving tables, and we were thanked profusely. In reality, the larger table was much more to our liking, and in an area of the restaurant that was better air conditioned. It wasn’t an inconvenience for us at all!). But that was the overall theme of the night - caring, friendly staff, excellent service, wonderful ambiance, and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back!

It was a 90 + degree day outside. I did not want to sit in the heat. I sent a message through Open Table that I would like inside seating. This was so we could enjoy our meal out of the heat. I received a response that my request would be honored. We were seated inside, but no one informed us that the inside temperature was 85 degrees. It was unbearable. This restaurant should have someplace where you can sit comfortably with air conditioning.

Service is TOP NOTCH!!! Beyond! We’ve dined here several times and always had incredible service. I like the food too. Dinner and also brunch menus are wonderful! My only complaint is the this bar serves the weakest pours I’ve ever seen. It’s almost funny if it weren’t also the price of a real drink you’d find anywhere else in Birmingham. I’m a local who wants to make this my “go to” spot but when I’d like to also have a cocktail I won’t be here sadly.

We loved it ! Carolina was our server and she suggested the best apps entrees and i had an amazing espresso martini ! She helped my friend enjoy a custom fruity martini with tequila that was delicious.
