Terra - Eataly
Named for "earth" in Italian, Terra centers around the grill, where our chef cooks seasonal raw ingredients over burning flames, allowing the simple flavors to shine. The resulting earthy dishes pair perfectly with the botanical cocktails, premium Italian wines, and more.
Terrible service. Server was snotty.
Went for brunch with a friend and was very pleased. I had the eggs Benedict and it was delicious!! My friend has some toast with jam and Nutella and the chicken sausage. The chicken was a generous portion for the price.
It was great
Gorgeous view, amazing food and our server Katie was amazing!! She really went above and beyond and it really brightened up our ladies lunch yesterday. Thanks Katie!!
other than having to wait for our reservation, it was great. Food came out SO quickly!
Love this place! The food is always wonderful, simple, and clean, you feel miles away from the hustle and bustle down below, and they have excellent cocktails to boot!
Birthday dinner for friends
Great food, service and atmosphere
Coming back soon
I was so surprised that of the four of us I was the only one who had been to Terra before! Everyone else had only eaten downstairs at Eataly. So I recommended what I knew. Grilled artichoke. Little gem lettuce salad with crab. Wood fired Jidori chicken. All my guests were impressed and said they would come back. The chicken was crispy and moist. The artichoke is a favorite and I wish I could make it like that at home. I think you have some new fans!!!
The hostess has an attitude that makes it very unpleasant even before we sat down. Tried to give us the worst table inside even though I had reserved weeks in advance and requested outside. Ordered meat medium and all came rare. Took awhile to find someone to take it back to cook more. Left to have dessert somewhere else. Will be a long time before I come backs
While the food and ambiance were excellent, service was on the slow side and although I had made the reservation well in advance, we (all senior citizens) were seated on hard backless benches that became more and more uncomfortable as the night wore on. I asked for a different table with chairs and was told none were available and had to request a cushion for myself. Realizing it was a holiday, the slowish service is somewhat understandable but not the uncomfortable seating.
Food was excellent, waitress was great. Host wouldn’t seat us outside even though we had a reservation and there were empty tables. She said we had to wait for a table outside, or we could eat inside which doesn’t require a reservation. It seemed pointless to have bothered to make a reservation. We opted to sit inside and shortly after sitting down she sat other people outside. Very frustrating.
Wonderful brunch unique dishes ,great ambience and service
The service is TERRIBLE at Terra, which is such a bummer for such a beautiful place. We showed up 45 minutes early for our reservation, understandably too early to be seated so we checked in at the host stand and told him we would be sitting in the bar until ready to seat us. He told us to come back and check in again closer to our reservation - odd but ok. In the bar, it took 20 minutes to get our drinks and we asked for an appetizer menu that never showed up. I also had to go find our server when it was time to close out the bill.
I went back to the host stand to check in for the second time, this time 10 minutes before our reservation because the restaurant quite empty. I was asked if I wanted to be seated then. After saying yes, I was told to go back to the bar and they would come get me. This never happened so 20 minutes later I went back to the host stand and this time the person had NO recollection of our conversation. We were seated in the WORST table in the restaurant even though the majority of tables were empty. We ordered a bottle of wine, which didn't come. When the server came back for our food order, we asked about the wine. The food actually showed up before the wine, at which point we finally complained.
Unfortunately I will not go back nor will I recommend. There is too much competition in LA for good food AND good service. Eat downstairs at Eataly. Just as good and better service.
Beautiful venue with a great view. The service was very good. The food was ok, but not great and way overpriced. The wine list is really overpriced and, if you bring your own there is a $35. corkage fee, which, in reality, is a better deal than ordering from their wine list. Unless you are a wine connoisseur, choosing a wine is a 'crap shoot'. Nice place for special occasions.
The waitress who works in the outdoor bar area was incredible! She was so kind, and friendly. We never had to ask for a refill. Our calamari was excellent and came out very quickly. When we moved to the main dining area, it was a bit louder—but it’s not their fault the guy next to us was a bit drunk. We ordered a pasta dish and broccoli as the appetizer. It was excellent. My husband and I then split the snapper (catch of the day), and it was the worst fish we’ve ever had. It came out in an awful presentation. Our server was a male, who never checked on us. We asked him if we could order the chicken pops (appetizer) since we were still hungry. We did not expect him to take off the snapper from our bill but he did which was very kind. One thing I will say—I am pregnant and like to eat fish. The only fish options were the two types of fish that are not recommended to eat while pregnant so that was kind of unfortunate. The snapper was the special so we ordered that, but again, it was awful. We both had dessert and loved it. I’ve heard the downstairs restaurant has better food. We look forward to trying that.
Lovely experience. We are going to return
It was my first time at Terra.I loved the ambiance. We ordered Gem salad which was so so,It didn’t have any taste. The carrot was great. We wanted to order pasta and the waitress suggested us their especial pasta which I liked it.The service was great in overall.
The food is delicious, the service is excellent but it is pandamonium! Beautiful food comes out of the kitchen followed by a bus guy toting a huge cointainer of garbage throught the middle of the restaurant!!
Usually outside table service is quieter, but it was so loud we had to ask for atable inside!
From starting with their specialty cocktails to their gelato desert cart. An amazing experience and perfect lunch. Every thing is made in house and I think it was made by an Italian Grandma. Can’t wait to return.
Dinner at Terra was amazing. The outside terrace is perfect for summer and the food is delicious.
PRO TIP: Terra does not offer pizza on the menu. Do not bring pizza from the market up to eat at Terra. We were misinformed by an employee and the waitstaff at Terra, by no circumstance, overlooked this policy. We sadly left with cold pizza.
I am hesitant to write a review, because I do not want it becoming more popular than it already is. My favorite place for lunch in Century City. The view is amazing, you get to walk through Eatily to get to the restaurant, so can pick up little stuff for your home cooking. The lunch is just perfect. They have amazing small skewers cooked over wood grill to start - I had the mushrooms today, and they were incredible - smoky with a lovely finish of balsamic - these dishes are all about letting the exceptionally fine ingredients shine through. For the main, I had their butter lettuce salad with crab and finely diced chives. Again, such a wonderfully light yet flavorful dish - balanced with skilled care put into the presentation. Incredible. I have been to Terra over 6 times now and will be going back again and again. If you eat meat, be sure to check out the small grilled skewers they do to start - they are great to share and are exceptional.
The food and service were excellent. Three of us shared two appetizers and two delicious pastas
with some very good Italian wines.. then the mixed gelato desert. We ate on the patio with a nice view.
We found the whole experience of trolling the Eately market and eating lunch very enjoyable.
Why can we never be seated outside?
This is annoying and would be a factor in future reservations.
This place is great. Great ambience, perfect spot for date night. The food was amazing, and our server was hilarious (Garrett). We got the prosciutto wrapped melon, the funghi appetizer, squid ink pasta with uni, and a mushroom pasta dish, and everything was flawless. Will definitely be back.
Food was excellent as was the service. Loved the Bloody Mary bar
Overall a nice place, great ambiance and decor. Food was good but limited choices. Service was excellent, our server gave us great service and bought our desert while celebrating 29th wedding anniversary.
They didn’t serve lunch after 3 and we were not allowed to be seated - only at outside bar. We also had to order from the bar and limited bar menu. Reservations should not be an option during this time.
Post Break Up Dinner - it was FAB!!
The 20 something staff is marginally respectful and has difficulty understanding what the customer wants. I showed up early for a reservation I made three weeks prior and had asked to be seated on the patio. They took us to an inside table without even referencing the request or offering an option
Terra is my new favorite go-to place this summer. The rooftop dining is incredible. I hope they can capture the same vibe when it is cold outside.
Food was good, not great. Little gem salad with crab had very little crab. The eggplant dish and grilled artichoke were good.
lamb chop is not as good as usual
Family and friends
Had gone to the bar, but this time we decided to have lunch. Great time
Food is very good but pricey. Service was a bit less than I expected.
$32 chewy swordfish? Sheesh! Wonderful service though
Average food ... ok service ... way overpriced ... and very hard to hear Amber else at the table ... a real disappointing evening for all four of us ...
I went for my birthday dinner and it was so delicious and special! Gorgeous ambiance too. Highly recommend!
Great ambiance and food. Service was ok. Took a little bit to get us started but once we did it was lovely. A Lil loud but not extreme. Today was my 2nd time. First time had dinner at the bar inside our waiter was great and the mushroom pasta I ordered was divine. Today I sat In the patio area and loved it! The prosciutto eggs Benedict was delicious and a tequila ginger cocktail I tried was on point. Will definitely keep coming.
Food was lackluster and not work the cost. Have had better Italian food at a greasy spoon pizza joint. The Ragu I had tasted like chef Boyardee
