About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Lively
  • Good for special occasions
Located on the third floor of Eataly Boston, Terra is a unique restaurant inspired by earth and fire. The dining room centers around a wood-burning Italian grill, where the Terra culinary team cooks raw ingredients over burning flames, allowing the simple flavors to shine.

In every earthy dish, the fire’s smoked warmth rekindles our fundamental connection to the elements. Plentiful and playful, the grilled plates are perfect to share around the restaurant's rustic tables, especially when paired with seasonal drinks.

Amazing restaurant on the third floor above the Eataly marketplace, which is equally amazing. Everything we had was made from simple and fresh ingredients in a way that flavors were complex and unique. Food was cooked over an open wood burning flame as well. Our server, Edgar, was professional and attentive; he gave us excellent service! Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Boston. Bonus: shopping downstairs in the market where they have fresh pasta, aged meats, seafood, produce, and imported goods from Italy!

Very quiet setting, at least when we were there for an early dinner on Sunday. Food was amazing, and service was very fast. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and patient with our needs.

Love Terra. Great food and service. Such a fun place. Skewers were a bit overdone and too chewy. Tuna was definitely a 5.

We were visiting Boston for the weekend. This was our first visit to this restaurant. We had a reservation and we were seated promptly but the hostess never made eye contact with either my husband or me. She seemed to be looking everywhere but at us. The service model at the table was awkward. A woman with a tablet seemed to be our server, but she never introduced herself and she stood away from the table (behind my husband's back) to take our orders on the tablet, so we had to repeat them over the noise. Other people served the food, and fortunately, they seemed to notice that we would like to order something else while the woman with the tablet wandered around the room. When it came time to tip, we were not sure who we were really tipping! My husband had the tuna and loved it. I had the chicken and it was dry and the carrots were cold. Since it was our anniversary dinner, I did not want to spoil the night for my husband so I just ate without mentioning it. The focaccia was light and fresh. We returned the next day and sat at the bar for a few snacks, and the hostess that day could not have been nicer. She hunted down a chair for us as there was only one empty seat at the bar. The service at the bar was prompt and friendly. However, I watched one bartender pour the remaining contents of a bottle of wine into another bottle of wine which was not cool. At that visit we had the wood fired oysters, grilled mushrooms and split a pappardelle cacio e pepe e funghi. Everything was delicious. We will definitely return when we are in Boston again and probably sit at the bar.

I and two others ordered the grilled seafood entree. It was very disappointing. The entree included swordfish, calamari, scallops and prawns on skewers. The swordfish was fair; the prawns and scallops were good. About half the entree was calamari, cut in 1.5-inch squares. It was very tough. There were few scallops and one prawn for each of the three of us. At the price of this entree, I expected much better.
