Terra at Eataly Boston
Love everything about this restaurant except the tables are too close together to have a private conversation.
Very nice atmosphere; pretty and garden-like, especially nice in winter. Food was unusual and delicious; staff agreed to make something plain for a picky eater in our group. No bread was ever delivered to our table, although we wanted it, and nearby tables all had it. Overall pleasant, although noise level was very high so harder to converse than in less busy settings.
Extremely loud because the music coming via loudspeakers doesn't add to the experience but rather ruins it.
Menu at Terra is awful. Service is awful.
The menu is interesting. The wine selection is very good. We opted on getting just the pork chop with a side of the appetizer of grilled mushrooms and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was outstanding, fresh and light, not greasy and just a hint of sage in the sauce the surprise of the hazelnuts put it at the top of the best gnocchi ever. The mushrooms were very interesting, very tasty but a little rubbery. The pork chop was delicious but almost half of it was fat. We had a hard time just trying to cuts parts of it to get to the meet. If we ever ate here again we would definitely try an assortment of the apps and sides for our meal.
Great location and ambiance but overall the food was lacking.
I recently went to Terra on a date with my long time partner. It was much nicer than other restaurants we have tried at Eataly Boston. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food flavorful. We especially enjoyed the kale salad and dessert. We reserved ahead and were excited to have a romantic date.
Unfortunately, the service was not exceptional. Our waitress brought the wrong drink to our table. She insisted on serving a glass of wine to my boyfriend who has recently quit drinking, even though he refused it a couple times. When she finally realized that it was not what he ordered, she gave it to the table beside us. When she didn’t return with his drink or come to check on us, we asked various other wait staff for the non alcoholic drink he had actually ordered. We saw the staff speak with the waitress but the request was ignored. The waitress finally acknowledged her mistake and served him the drink about 60 minutes later, as he finished his main course. While eating, tables right beside us continued to get star treatment with visits and complimentary drinks and dishes from the chef.
So basically everyone around us was getting star treatment with visits from the chef and other employees, free food, and drinks while we weren’t even getting what we ordered. It was small mistake, but we left with the feeling that our three course meal had been a bit overpriced for what it was and the service that went with it. However, given the opportunity I would definitely give Terra a second chance.
Great ambiance, typical Boston food prices, fun environment — good for friends, family (no small children), dates, etc highly recommend
Perfect service and food made for a wonderful time with friends.
We always enjoy our meals at Terra. It’s a great atmosphere with yummy food. Our waitress was terrific, also. We look forward to our next meal there.
Good food pretty loud and service was ok not great
Great Place! So fresh, satisfying and cozy. Servers were so helpful!
Didn’t get the seating that was requested, too pricey for the portions.
Great food and service
This was a fun experience. We had the 3 course truffle Chefs experience. Three courses paired with wine. Food was very good and wines selected complimentary to the courses. It is a bit loud, but overall ambiance is nice.
Nice ambiance. Menu was extensive maybe a bit confusing. It was for a birthday and they charged me for the gelato that I didn’t even order. 🤷🏻♀️
I asked our waiter if I ordered the Capesante al vino rosso to share, though I was not starving, would it be a good size for two? I was told yes. Well come to find out, 5 TINY scallops arrived with two teaspoons of barley. Clearly not a meal to split nor a meal itself, more like an hors d'oeuvre. Needles to say, we ate the table bread and went home hungry. Please let your wait staff know that that item is clearly not a dinner item.
Waiter was awesome. Food delicious. Crowded but noise not bad
It was graf
Food could have been better for the price, and extremely small portions
I was very impressed by the bruschetta, swordfish, and ravioli, and the wine. I like the atmosphere overall but did not like sitting in the back of the restaurant where some of that was lost.
It was a bit of a zoo so if you're up for that, you'd like Terra. The service was decent considering they were crazy busy although the very sweet waiter never asked us how our meals were and did not ask if we wanted another drink. Someone tried to take my plate away kind of early (pet peeve of mine) so I think it was a case of volume and keep up with it as this restaurant. My husband's steak was full of grizzle and you could see it when taking away his plate. No comment from the waitstaff and we didn't really have a chance to mention it because everything was so harried.
Food is exceptional. I love this place! The atmosphere is wonderful and the restaurant is beautiful with all the plants. Staff is always very nice.
Food and service were underwhelming. It was really busy, in their defense.
The space is pretty and the food is fine but the service wasnt super friendly, particularly because we had 2 kids with us and were not ordering drinks. While they did offer off the menu kids pasta, the rest of the menu was hard to navigate, expensive for lunch and would not appeal to even mildly picky eaters.
We had an amazing time celebrating my wife’s birthday. Danny did an amazing job walking us through the truffle special and made the night truly wonderful.
Amazing garden terrace in eataly, love the food ambiance you name it it’s such a great spot for a date night or a quick bit in the not so
Little Italy in the area.
Fun experience but very loud in terms of other diners socializing. Server was wonderful. Food was fresh and tasty but it wasn’t to me an elite Italian dining experience. The two course prix fixe with a wonderful wine from the $25 bottle promotion made the meal a good value.
The food was delicious the steak was yummy but my pasta was cold, which i did not appreciate. The cocktails were yummy with a nice twist.
The food is ok but it is SO NOISY... Makes it Impossible to enjoy your dinner.
I selected the restaurant based on A recommendation that it is vegan friendly. The menu had many vegetarian dishes but the server pointed out what can be veganized (would have been nice to have the menu annotated so I didn’t have to ask).
I had the mushrooms, bruschetta, and chard. All very tasty and enjoyable.
The place is very noisy so it was challenging for a business meeting.
I always love going to Terra. Every time I go, not only is the food absolutely delicious and fresh, but I feel like I get such good value. I go there every chance I get, and recommend this to everyone I can. If you do end up going, have the burrata. Trust me, it’ll blow your mind!
The steak was pretty much not cooked at all! and they didn't take it off the check either! but the restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy.
First time dining upstairs at Eataly and it is a completely different experience versus downstairs! Much more quiet and civilized - more like a “real “ restaurant. Beautiful decor with open fire and smokes smell is amazing. Service was outstanding- always there to refill but not overbearing. Food was also outstanding - starters were kale salad (large) and cheese plate with was decent sized. Gnocchi and arancini were rather small portions for the price but very good! And wine list is terrific. Would highly recommend and go back!!
Very enjoyable occasion
This was our first time. We had John for a server and he could not have been more accommodating.
My wife had a 3 course truffle dinner and I had a shrimp skewer to start and scallops with black barley.
The truffle dinner finished with a small pork shank which made it wasy for us to share. The sauce was a lick-your-plate incredible,
We picked up a dessert at Eatily on the way out.
It was a truly, wonderful dinner.
Such a cute spot & delicious food & great value for restaurant week!
bad presentation and low quality food.
pasta dish came with pretty much no sauce - the menu described as “creamy”
the meat was loaded with fat
