Delicious food and wine and they held our reservation even though we were late.
My husband ordered his steak medium rare, and it came out well done. Our server was very apologetic and made things right. They brought him a completely new meal, two extra glasses of wine, and offered to provide dessert at the end of the meal. They stood behind the error and were very apologetic.
Host staff was nice, attentive server and attractive atmosphere.
Calamari appetizer was very good. All of the rest of our dishes: (pork Milanese, mushroom pappardelle, Bolognase tagliatelle and chicken masala were all fair at best. Served warm, not hot, with underwhelming depth of flavor.
We had a group of 7 and the ambience was very good but not so loud that we couldn’t have a conversation. The wait staff was attentive and good and our meals were very good. It is a fun place to celebrate or done with friends or family. I recommend it.
I think it is a good restaurant but we were there and both of my kids have food issues, one has Celiac and he was fine but the other one has serious allergy to dairy. The waiter seemed to understand that he could not have any dairy including butter (sometimes people think butter is okay with a dairy allergy) and I asked that everything be cooked in clean pans as to avoid cross-contamination. My son also made sure the watier was aware of his allergy. He ordered gluten-free pasta with marinara sauce instead of the tomato cream sauce and also added chicken to it. He ate a few bites and immediately knew he was allergic to something and he had to leave the restaurant. It was my other son's birthday so it was not fun at all. Please take this more seriously. There was probably some cross-contamination and/or butter. People joke about food issues but it is not funny when it is a life or death situation. Thank you.
All good except for the draft of cold air by the door.
Very nice experience, our waiter Marco was outstanding. We asked to see Alpina but Marco said
She was to busy, maybe next time she won’t be to busy!
Good food, fantastic service. Only hesitation - I made the reservation and my friends arrived first. The host didn't read my notes about seat placement. Would definitely go again.
Despite the restaurant being busy, the noise level was low and the wait staff did their best to keep up...though they struggled quite a bit. The problem was the food. I'm not a fan of a lot of salt but the food was so undersalted it was bland/ tasteless. Also, if you are going to add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of onions in the pasta genovese you should list it as an ingredient. I would have requested mine without onions. We won't be back.
It was a 3 birthday celebration we had Jason a very cute fun waiter. Needless to say we closed down the dining room. Amazing
Service extremely poor and unprofessional. Waiters not attentive to clients basic dining needs, sequencing/timing of food courses very poor. Needed to repeatedly request basic dining essentials ie; bread, butter, water refills, wine, silverware setups, etc. Food was tasty but we waited unreasonable amount of time approx 75 mins to receive our main entrees. Excessive delays between courses. Ambiance is very crowded and noisy in main room. Restaurant not cozy or relaxed environment whatsoever. Front hosts, waiters and servers have scattered energy, not working cohesively. Overall poor dining experience, we will not return.
Terrible service on a Sat night at 6:30. Waited 50min for food and server never available. Ended up being a 2.5hr dinner with kids.
It took over an hour for our food to arrive. It was a busy night, but no reason for it to take so long. Waiter disappeared for over 45 minutes. At least he comped another round of drinks. The sad part was that the food was very good, especially the pizza, but we probably won't bother coming again.
The food is ok
Staff couldn’t wait to close at 8:30 on a Sunday evening
It was my first time at this restaurant, and I was very impressed. Our waiter was excellent. He asked questions about timing (we were going to a play), allergies, and other preliminary matters. He helped with recommendations from the menu, each of which was great. The food was superb; the ambiance excellent. I was very impressed, and will return when in the area.
Food was mediocre at best.
Tasted old. Poor quality.
I love Terra and Vine. The food is delicious the portions are big and the prices are reasonable. I also love the ambiance. Would recommend highly.
Our reservation was at 7pm. We ordered a salad, a pasta and a meat. After we received our water and iced tea the waiter didn't come back to our table until 7:45 where he waiter tells us our ticket was lost and was going to resubmit it. No apologies, no refills. Our movie was at 8:15. We had to leave. This was a terrible experience.
Everything was perfect. Service was great and food was wonderful. My only recommendation would be to drink wine inside, it was the battle of the fruit flies. I had to dish about 14 out of my drink over the course of the evening. That is not on the restaurant in any way, it's just the nature of the beast that is nature. =)
The food here does not disappoint, always crowded though and noisy. Service can be outstanding or quite slow depending on scheduling and number of reservations. We had a great time and would highly recommend for a special occasion.
Why is this restaurant not eligible for points???
We returned to this busy locale after some time away and it didn’t disappoint. We started out with Terra salads that were huge and delicious. Just the basics but wonderfully dressed. We shared the short rib dish and the pasta with fungi. The short rib dish was delicious and quite substantial! The past was a perfect complement with a very rich sauce folded perfectly into the dish. Topped with a Montepulciano, the evening was perfect. Service was a bit slow and the restaurant has a real urban vibe.
Great food- Great servive- great place
The place is beautiful- seating comfortable
The service was 5 stars
The food was outstanding
This is 5 Star but only better!!!!
We ate at this restaurant on a Sunday night. Service was painfully slow. Appetizers were good. Tagliatelle was nothing special, made with over cooked, store bought pasta. Some of the other pasta was made in house and of better quality. Waiter compensated us for some of the apps but it was not sufficient to make it a positive experience.
It took awhile to have someone come to the table to greet us. My wife was upset because the menu online said they had a fish of the day but they didn’t when we got there. The mussels were amazing but the pasta I had and the cauliflower both weren’t great. We will not be coming back.
Dinner and a movie. Restaurant was understaffed, server had too many tables. We lead an hour to eat and service was so slow we were 20 minutes late for the movie that was right next door.
Disappointing. Kitchen was disorganized and very slow. Server kept disappearing— never updating us on meal progress. Food was good, not great, and there was no compensation for waiting almost 90 min for food. If we hadn’t been hosting group of friends we would have left.
The overall experience was good. It’s a convenient place to eat before or after a movie. However the menu is always the same with very few specials. I recommend more specials (appetizer, pasta, salad) and/or seasonal menu changes.
Always great food and equally great service. One of our favorite places for a date night or a nicer family dinner.
We made a last-minute reservation and were able to eat outside. No sooner had we been seated that it started to rain. The staff was very accommodating to move us to another patio table under cover. It had been a while since we had been at the restaurant, so we forgot that portions are more than ample. We ordered the cauliflower and brussels sprouts as appetizers and ended up taking half of them home since they were so large. Dinner was delicious and service was outstanding. We will have to make a point of returning to the restaurant more often.
We went early (6pm) and the restaurant was very quiet. Although the noise level did increase, it was never loud. Our service was good. The chicken Marsala was tasty and we were able to substitute mashed potatoes for the polenta. Our friends were satisfied with their food as well. I would return there.
Wonderful service. Very good Terra salad. Salmon was on the salty side. Pork Milanese done nicely.
We keep trying to give Terra and Vine another chance but the bottom line is the food is just not very good. The wine is the only reason to come back. Value and selection there is great. Service was actually great too but you just can't make up for uninspired and poorly executed food. Suggest simplifying everything with less ingredients and more care. If we come back it will be for wine at the bar until something changes with the menu. With all the options in Evanston this wont last if they don't.
We were there for 2 hours literally because of ther server and his terrible lack of attention. In the 2 hours he was there he stopped by 4 times and I asked a bus boy to grab our server for one of them.
Waiter was pleasant enough but not attentive and it was not busy. Took 20 minutes to get drinks.
Said we needed 2 Meals GF, ordered Mussels Appetizer, served with big pita loaf on top.
no refills on water. Waited excessively to get plates cleared and check taken care of. Noted on open table it was a birthday so i guess that is why they brought out ice cream bowl- with no spoons. by this point I was so frustrated I exited while my husband waited to complete bill.
Great outdoor patio, outstanding wine selection
Delicious food, huge portions. Salads should be split.
Food was very good and service was great. Would come again. If weather permitting eat outside.
We had a after-movie dinner, and it was great. My wife had short ribs, which were tender and juicy, and enough to take some home for our Bichon! We shared a large portion (only size) of pasta fagioli soup, and it was more than enough as a starter for both of us. I had rigatoni with sausage in a tomato vodka sauce: again, so delicious, and enough for my lunch the next day! The wine list is excellent, and prices moderate. Service was extremely friendly and efficient. A great place pre- or post-theatre, but also anytime!
The food was delicious, and the ambiance was fantastic. The wait staff left something to be desired - we were rarely checked on throughout our time there, but with that said when the waiter was around he was extremely helpful. Overall I would say this was a good experience!
We love the food-burrata, octopus, meatball appetizers.
Pasta is always good!
Cocktails and wine are fabulous!
Servers are courteous
We will be back!
