Terra & Acqua
This was not what we expected. We were celebrating our anniversary which we noted when making our reservation and were seated in the bar when we asked for a booth. The bartender was also the waiter and the manager so his attention was quite divided. The food was good but the medium steak was quite rare and even the bread took a very long time. It wasn’t sent back because we feared it would take too long and my spouse would be finished or have cold food. Would recommend if they can get service and food prep in order but did not have ambiance for a special occasion.
I've been to Terra & Aqua many times....seems every time I go back the standards change....from exceptional to good.....don't know if its a change in their culinary performance or budget concerns...
This was not my first visit to Terra & Aqua, but first time there for a business meeting. My colleagues and I enjoyed our meals immensely! The service here is always outstanding and this visit was no exception. This continues to be one of my favorite local restaurants.
I’ve been to the restaurant a couple of times and loved it. I live in Jacksonville so it’s an hour commute each week. Last Friday night, however, I did not have the usual great experience. Two people at our table ordered a salad that featured tomato’s. When the salads came, there were no tomatoes in them. The waiter didn’t bother to tell us and when we asked why, he didn’t know. He later came back by the table and said they were out of tomatoes! Seems odd for an Italian restaurant not to have tomatoes and a waiter not to know.
I got the veal acallapine and it was cold as well.
Good experience and attentive service. Good choices and excellent specials.
The food is consistently outstanding and the service personal and attentive without being bothersome. I find that I have a difficult time deciding what to order becuase so many dishes appeal to me. This visit i enjoyed the Fall Lasagna with cauliflower, sausage, and squash. It was full of flavor without being overly rich or heavy. A perfect balance. Started with a barrel aged cocktail, and then to a very nice chianti from the reasonably priced wine list. Shared the ricotta/burrato appetizer - the roasted tomato sauce accompaniment really complemented the cheese.
Great meals enjoyed by all shared appetizers were meatballs, mussels and lightly fried shrimp vegetables and calimari double pork chops could feed a lumberjack! Fish, gnocchi and ribs were gone quickly. Wait staff attentive to our needs. Looking forward to our next visit.
Great food with options for gluten and dairy free. Fresh ingredients at a fair price
The food was masterfully prepared. We had the Risotto Prima Vera with Scallops. Wonderful! The veal Scalopini was also well prepared and delicious.
My husband and I recently had an anniversary dinner here. It was a quiet Sunday evening. We were seated immediately. The service and food were very good. Our waiter was very attentive and personable. The only drawback that I saw was in the setting. The place was poorly air conditioned. It was a hot Florida evening and the restaurant has a functional brick oven working making the temp inside the restaurant a bit uncomfortable. I did see staff moving some fans around but it would have been more pleasant at 5-10 degrees cooler. I would go back.
A favorite place to dine. Excellent food and service. I think the menu tends to be more Central and Northern Italian and less Southern Italian, so it’s a little different from what you would find in many Italian-American restaurants. I highly recommend the Carpaccio for an appetizer.
We have eaten and Terra & Acqua numerous times.. While the food is always very good to great, the service this time was not that great. not sure if they were short staff or it was just our waiter(s). Took longer that normal to get our bread with no explanation.. it is always fresh so if the explanation was were were baking it okay but nothing. When food came out my wife asked for another glass of wine.. never showed up until we flagged waiter down.
The restaurant was not that crowded so not sure if was issue with kitchen or wait staff.
We celebrated our 35th anniversary but was not offered a special treat or anything! That was dissapointing! Got free piece of cheescake at Caps by the sea
Too much pasta served with the dinner. I ordered black grouper and my dinner plate was full of pasta and my fish was very tiny pieces sprinkled over the pasta....very strange and not really good. The restaurant's dishes are all lots of pasta with tiny pieces or shredded meats on the pasta or mixed in.
The bread and olive oil is good.
We will not return because we like to eat healthy and want a piece of protein served with a small portion of pasta on the side.
Great place - Great staff -Great food! Who could ask for anything more?
Our past experiences at Tera Acqua were excellent. For whatever reason, this Sunday evening was a disaster: the salad was wilted and missing ingredients, they were out of Chianti, and we waited an hour for our main course. The main courses were oily and the veal Marsala was soggy. They only recently started being open on Sunday's: perhaps they should go back to a day off!
3 of 4 entres and 2 salads were subpar. Plus forgot dressing on salad and waiter was nowhere to be found for a while. Felt badly because we suggested restaurant to the couple that joined us.
This wonderful Italian Restaurant NEVER leaves me disappointed. Our preferred waiter, Paul, always is attentive, fun, and knowledgeable. GREAT food at fair prices.
Always a pleasure eating Terra and Aqua. Great service and wonder dining.
Nightly specials make it very interesting every time we go.
Had one chance to eat a decent meal in St. Augustine and blew it. Overpriced but the service was decent. Staff outnumbered customers about 10 to 1. My meal was terrible and I paid $32 for it.
Service was mediocre. No plates to eat appetizer on. Stuffed pork chop stuffing was mostly outside of chop. Very dry . Undercooked cauliflower.
..We both ordered a $24 shrimp pasta special. It consisted of 6 over cooked shrimp with very unedible undercooked pasta.Served in a cold dish swimming in butter/olive oil.Not at all garnished or an attractive plate.Have been dining there for a few yrs & the last few times were not up to par.Our waiter was very attentive. No apparent manager on site.
Food was amazing, though space was tight. Waiter seemed very rushed, as it was pretty crowded. Food made up for it though, would try it again. Definitely make reservations! Bonus that they’re available on Open Table.
BEST pizza in Florida, server was excellent, and we were well cared for. Ample parking a plus‼️
We were a party os 8 and all have different dishes. Everyone was happy with his/her selection
The Frito Misto is always great. My swordfish was very good and wife enjoyed her salmon. Dessert was decadent. Great pour on wine, and nice to see big rocks glasses with an adult pour.
Matt was our server. Very attentive and familiar with the kitchen.
Terra & Acqua is one of our favorite "GO To Spots". They have a variety of specials allowing us to dine there often and enjoy different entrees. However, we always start with the Octopus appetizer- unique and tasty (Don't spoil your appetite with too much of the Great Bread). When busy the inside can be a bit loud, but there is outside seating and the food is equally good inside or out.
We felt rushed. It was noisy and the food was average. Our shared appetizer, fritto misto, was tough (the clamari).
Excellent. Whether you are looking for homemade pasta or fresh local seafood and creative cuisine, you can’t go wrong here. Now our “go to” local restaurant.
Great food and atmosphere. Our
Favorite Italian restaurant in the area.
This place is amazing! Best Italian I've found outside of New York and Philly. Every dish, every visit has been perfect. The wine list is wonderful, the value and the care of the wine excellent. The octopus salad is top top notch. From the bread to the high end entrees, everyrhing is fantastic. The very complete and well thought out menu makes it easy to satisfy your party. The lobster lasagna is a highlight and the pork chop is wonderful. The only complaint is the noise level but don't let that keep you from this hidden gem in St. Augustine.
Celebrating a Birthday, Tracy was our server, AMAZING! Good time, food was great 👍😊
We showed up for our reservation, and did not receive service. The tables around us were getting waited on, we waited 15 minutes before getting up. Servers around us saw us get up to leave and no one stopped us or offered to help us. Also, it was very hot inside tables all around were fanning themselves.
I have eaten many times at Terra & Acqua and will continue to go back! It is local and the owners and staff are always friendly. There is a good wine list and the specials and the pizza are fantastic! When I have guests in town, I can always count on Terra & Acqua to impress!
Steak was great. Ribs were overcooked and not tender. More like beef jerky. I would not order them again.
No. Just no. First of all, the customer service is not great. Don't get me wrong, I liked our waitress and everything, but she was only okay. We tried to order a kids cheese pizza as an appetizer because we read another yelp reviewer did that and my pregnant self thought that sounded amazing. They flat out refused to do it. Apparently the chef said "Absolutely not. That's just something nice we do for the kids." Ummmm...... that right there is 1) poor customer service and 2)flat out ridiculous because there goes about 8 extra dollars in profit they could've made. I mean, would you rather make that $8 making someone a kids pizza as an appetizer or refuse out of principle? We also had a pear and Gorgonzola salad- the pears were kind of slimy and the dressing was sad. My husband ordered the bolognese and I kid you not, it tasted exactly like Chef Boyardee ravioli! I got a pear purse pasta which was pretty tasty and a harder to find dish, which is why I gave the restaurant two stars instead of one. Considering the price, I'd HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else.
Fabulous Food! Great Service! Very Comfortable atmosphere!
We love Terra & Acqua. We've been there for dinner about 6-7 times and have tried different entrees. Try the Antipasto Misto - it's truly divine. Saturday night I had the grilled seafood dish which included lobster, calamari and other seafood served over grilled veggies - outstanding. One of our friends had the Gnocchi with cream sauce & nuts - hearty and they loved it. We also enjoy going just to the bar on a Friday night and sitting on a high top to have appetizers, the Costa Est pizza and drinks. The food is very good and consistent, the service is exceptional the wine list is excellent and we love the atmosphere.
The food and atmosphere were nice. I enjoyed what there was to offer and would definitely return again. Overall, it was excallent and I would recommend Terra & Acqua to other people.
We were so excited to have an Italian place close to where we are moving but this place was a huge disappointment. The waiter was nice and polite so that was good but he was not knowledgeable about the food or wine. He also struggled to keep up with his tables. Our entrees were sent out 30 seconds after our salads. So they sat and got cold. I had ordered a steak so I didn’t want to send it back because it would over cook under the heat lamp. We moved tables because it was SO hot where we were. Overall it was not a great experience and it was not inexpensive. Their pizza did look good though. Maybe take out pizza is the way to go?
We were looking forward to a great dinner based upon a friend's recommendation, however we weren't thrilled. The server was extremely slow, they give you tiny water glasses without ice and the entree portions were extremely small. The food did taste good, but the prices (we felt) were expensive for what you received. We would recommend including a salad with your entree, that would round off a small meal along with the good tasting bread. Also, large water glass with ice would have been nice. I had the fish special over linguine and there was very little seafood in with the sauce. Again, it tasted good, but I was very disappointed to say the least at the portion and the price.
