Terra & Acqua Ratings and Reviews
The food is excellent. So is the wine. But, we have never felt that the atmosphere was really welcoming, as pertains to the "greeting" staff or the wait staff. And, facing the parking lot means facing several floor to ceiling glass panels, which are really dirty and have large sheets of paper sloppily taped on them. I guess this is some sort of notice to those on the outside. So, good food, but the ambiance is lacking, and that's a shame. But, they can fix this, if they want to.
Rare miss. We come here quite often and I have never had a poor experience until tonight. Food took forever to come out. When I got it I had a huge bone in the chicken (pizza salad) mind you it’s supposed to be chicken breast. I nearly choked on it. Needless to say I was done eating at that point. I showed the waitress, who brought it to the kitchens attention. Everyone seemed pretty apathetic to the situation. No apologies no manager nothing. I assumed they would at minimum take my meal off the check as I was unable to finish it for obvious reasons, boy was I wrong. Nothing. Simply horrible.
The restaurant was very nice and modern. The food was good, salmon and homemade pasta was excellent. Service was much less than desirable. Only one waitress who was very rude. We had seven in our party and she brought six dinners. The seventh was brought when the rest of us had finished eating, telling us the salmon was very thick and must have taken longer to cook on the grill. If this was the case, the cook must prepare for this and serve all the dinners together. Very disappointed with such a nice ambiance.
Another wonderful meal! My wife had the mahi which was perfect! But I had the zupa de pesch (sp?) was FANTASTIC! The broth was SO tasty that I asked for extra bread so I could lap it all up! Plus, Paul our server, recommended the blueberry tart which was scrumptious.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The service was outstanding; our cups were never empty. The food was phenomenal! It was very busy and somewhat noisy inside, but not too much to take away ambiance. I do not regret having made this the place to celebrate our anniversary, and will probably come here again next time we are in town.
We dine here at least once a month. The offerings are always good.At times they are exceptional. The service is always good- sometimes it is exceptional (home made pasta is always great). The wine by-the-glass is an area for improvement and the desserts are very good.
Terra & Aqua is an very good restaurant. I enjoy it for lunch more than I do dinner.
I've been to Terra Aqua 3 times in the past month. Every time I go I'm that much more enamored with it! This last round featured Butternut Squash Ravioli (swoon) and the salted caramel gelato (drool!)
Service is always friendly & the price point is amazing. Love it!
Another wonderful meal! We both had the scallops over butternut cheese risotto with asparagus. Might have liked one or maybe 2 more scallops for the price though. Paul, our server did an excellent job of keeping everything flowing at a nice, steady pace!!!! Going back tonight for the Community Table!
Food at Terra and Acqua is consistently good. Service was good even though they were short staffed because of the upcoming evacuation for the hurricane. Really appreciated them being open so we could get a good meal after a long day. Portions are so good that I had some lasagne leftovers for breakfast.
Firstly, Niko was the best server we have ever had. That is saying a lot as we dine out frequently and have had many fine servers. He has personality plus, attentive without being intrusive, and excellent knowledge of the menu and wine. The food: bread was to die for. Wood fired with a fabulous EVOO and balsamic. The romaine, pear, Gorgonzola, and balsamic salad was excellent. Lasagna with quality ingredients, fresh, and obviously made the same day just not used to béchamel in this dish. Overall very tasty! We had a special of the day taglialini with shrimp and an avocado and lemon sauce. Excellent flavor. Shrimp perfectly cooked. The only thing that I would have done differently is to add some pasta water to the sauce as it was a bit gloppy. Also, needed a bit more lemon. Otherwise great dish. Love this restaurant. Will definitely be back!
Even though I made a reservation almost a week in advance they sat us in the NOISY bar area. Our waiter Geoffrey was literally running around like a crazy person...taking shots at tables with other guest, laughing and partying behind the bar. Their homemade pastas are great but I chose the special...risotto with scallops. The risotto was tasteless, lukewarm, and only had 3 rubbery scallops all for $26...didn't even come with a side salad. It took forever to get our food and an eternity to get the bill. Because my dinner companions , former restaurant owners, had the same experience with the same waiter two weeks earlier they said something to the manager at the bar about our waiter being a mess his response was...he's a good guy. What?? If You dine there be specific....1) don't sit in the bar 2) request not to be in Geoffrey's section
Unfortunately we found the happy hour was for only the bar that's after they seated us elsewhere...the ambience is fine for a family pizza night...food overpriced for the taste...but probably in line with being the only close restaurant in a neighborhood...we had a waiter at the next table talking with a single woman for over 20 minutes...very annoying like hit on her after you get off work!!!
This was an outstanding find outside busy downtown St Augustine. Right off Route A1A - worth the short drive. The menu is excellent with wonderful choices. Not your typical run of the mill Italian restaurant - the offerings are well thought out, artfully prepared and generous in portion. Prices are amazingly reasonable and chefs use locally raised and caught menu items. Service is outstanding - we loved Paul! Aesthetically pleasing interior and open kitchen is always fun. Wish we had this in Port St. Lucie! Loved Terra & Acqua.......ps: wine list is lovely and reasonable.
We enjoyed our food. However service was terrible. "JJ" our waitstaff was terrible. We were served our appetizer which we were sharing. No side plates. I had to get up from table and ask for two. Our water glasses were filled when we first arrived but were not refilled. We then ordered a 2nd plate and had again ask for plates. We then wanted to order our final meal and JJ was outside with no tables that he was taking care of. He then came in and we ordered. We were neglected throughout our meal. Noise was at a high level. While we enjoyed our meal we will not return
My husband and I stopped for an early dinner at Terra and Aqua, on the way home to Jacksonville from Palm Coast. To start, we split the avocado bruschetta -- delicious but a little pricey at $11 for 2 pieces and 3 shrimp. Our entrees, Cioppino and the short ribs, were also delicious and generous portions for the price. The bread is wonderful and our server gladly brought us additional for the Cioppino. We ordered a bottle of the house Chianti for $31. The Vivino app shows approximate retail in the $11 - $12 range. We generally prefer to eat in restaurants whose wine markup is 2x retail or less. So next time, we will probably check out the wines by the bottle section, knowing that the cheaper house wines sold by the glass or bottle are usually marked up more than the wines by the bottle. Or, we will go Monday through Friday during Happy Hour which ends at 6 PM. All in all, another excellent experience at Terra and Aqua. We will continue to eat there when we are in the St. Augustine area.
We have heard wonderful reviews from others on Terra & Acqua and wish we would have given it a try before now! OUTSTANDING! Everything was so fresh and delicious and the presentation was spot on! We were very impressed and Terra & Acqua is now high on our list of local faves! I had a fantastic fresh and beautiful beet salad and added grilled shrimp. Husband had the chicken grilled under a brick that was so tasty and tender with yummy truffle mashed potatoes. Our friends had the wahoo fish which she said was one of the best fish dishes she has ever had. The other had a rib eye cooked perfectly. The service was very personal and all were extremely friendly. Can't wait to go back soon....and again and again! I want to try everything on their menu - every meal being served looked delicious!
