Teppanyaki Tables at ROKU Sunset
The food is subpar the portions were small and the waiter who was taking care of us had his shirt buttoned below his chest. There was no orange sauce which is typical across teppanyaki places. The bartender when we ordered drinks was great. Other than that I wouldn't come back to this place which is overpriced and overrated.
There is no heat in the restaurant, and everyone was freezing. We told the waiter and he was incredibly rude, we were shocked. We loved this place and had our kid's birthday here one year, terribly disappointed that it has gone so downhill. Manager tried to help but in the end, it's not a great experience to eat somewhere and freeze the entire time and have a discourteous waiter.
Made a reservation and ended up waiting 35 minutes from a table, no apologies from a manager or anything. Service was extremely slow. The teppanyaki section is as bright as a cafeteria. Food is good but not worth the price.
Wonderful food and ambiance from start to finish! However, our service was slow and inconsistent. Would come back but would like an additional server to help service be more attentive.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was perfect. Quiet enough that we could have our own conversation and very very uncrowded. Service was great and our waiter was super friendly. The hibachi show was so fun and the chef had lots of great tricks up his sleeve! Was a memorable fun experience!
Vegetables were weak! Cauliflower doesn’t work. Soup was average at best. Would love dinner salad as option over Kale. Meat, Shrimp and Fried Rice we’re good.
Some of the worst service I have ever had. We were here for an hour in an almost empty restaurant before they even took our order. DO NOT COME HERE! I never leave reviews but this deserved it for the absolute horrific service we received.
Nice space, attentive and lively waiter but ultimately Teppanyaki is not all that interesting. Some ingredients were better than others (scallops seemed fresh) but for the price, it just seemed rather meh.
Pretty cool experience at ROKU. Server was nice. He told us sake and wine by bottle was half off on Tuesdays. The chef was very friendly and did some cool fire tricks on the grill before he began. We ordered wagyu, dry-aged steak, scallop and lobster. The wagyu was very juice and tender and was clearly distinct from the steak in both texture and flavor. Scallop was probably one of the best (if not the best) I have ever had. The unfiltered sake went perfectly with the meal. However, the meal came out to be a little more expensive than we had imagine, but still, it was a wonderful high-end teppanyaki experience.
Amazing experience, had teppenyaki. Food was seasoned perfectly, Chef Christian was incredibly funny and talented. All the servers were great as well. Only 4 stations so make sure to make reservations. They called us to change our reservations at 730pm to 8pm, which worked out for us, but probably because they get pretty busy on weekend nights. Highly recommended.
we had an absolute blast- would totally do this venue again
ROKU on Sunset is our family birthday tradition. Mid-week specials make for more affordable dining. WE love ROKU.
A great fun night out. The food and drink were very good. We went early in the evening, stayed for just over an hour and a half. It cost just under $200 for two people, including one drink and tap water, no dessert or coffee.
It is extremely expensive taken into account the quality of the food and the cooking.
Great teppanyaki. Friendly and entertaining service. Nice ambience and not too dark.
Comfortable seats for up to 8 at each grill.
Excellent everything! Here on holiday and have been 3 time. The best staff ever and our kids love it!! Excellent food quality too!
Brilliant! We took the kids for an early dinner for tepenyaki and they loved it! We had a friendly chef called Chris he was amazing
Everything was great.
Excellent Teppanyaki, some of the best I've had. Very proficient cooks, well trained and also very entertaining.
It was a great experience. The other individuals at our table were very friendly. The food was excellent! The scallops were extremely fresh, everything was cooked to perfection!
The service was very bad. We wanted to order some sushi for appetizer, the waiter said he would be back, but he did not. we asked again, he said he would come back, he did not. Then we ask another employee to get him, he came, but the teppanyaki was ready . We ended up order some but it was really too late. Those alone, ruined our mood. The meat was not hot, only warm, and did not taste as good. The shrimps were dry as they were overcook.
We went to this teppanyaki at least 3 times already, they were good, that's why we came back with our friends. But this time, we did not enjoy our meals..we did not get any anniversary candle ...
Our Japanese friend were not happy with the food.
Probably next time will be better...Probably it was not our day!
Everyone was super accommodating and so nice! The food was amazing and the experience was a blast. Definitely coming here again!
Had teppanyaki with wagyue and shrimp. Ordered the ”large” option just to get rice as side, but did not even get the rice and no server nearby. Teppanyaki chef said he would ask the server to come but did not come, until I had already finished most of the food. So canceled the rice but still had to pay full price. Food was ok but not value for money at 300+ USD.
There are better restaurants to choose. Would not go back and not recommend.
It was the best dinner we’ve had in a long time. Far surpassed Beni Hana. The creativity and fun made it a very special day!!
Nothing exciting. The taste wasn’t special.
This time it wasn’t great! The fish tasted way too fishy and the steak was over cooked. We had to return it. Hopefully next time it’ll be better
It was very cool! Dry ice in her cocktail made it smoke. Great food! And her free birthday dessert came out with a pyrotechnic thing sparkling everywhere. It did cost over 200$ for to people and we didn’t even order the most expensive stuff.
Amazing first time experience and my wife and I had a really great time and enjoyed the restaurant..will definitely come back
Everything was great but the young kids who came in and made the whole experience not as enjoyable. We’re dressed extremely casual and made my friends feel awkward. Like we weren’t at a fine dinning establishment. For the amount we spend just felt like a joke.
BEWARE! There is a time limit at the Teppanyaki tables which is not listed anywhere nor disclosed at the time they call to reconfirm your reservation. Our group of 10 was told that we have 1.5 hours to dine and then the next party would arrive. We were all really shocked by this especially since we were celebrating a birthday. With much back and forth, the manager decided “to be kind enough to extend it half an hour”. Our chef rushed us through dinner while skipping most of the tricks that the other chefs performed. We finished dinner and took our cake home. As we finished dinner, the other Teppanyaki tables were still empty and by the time we left no one had showed up to claim our table. The food was excellent and our server was great. It’s disappointing that such a beautiful restaurant that is part of a large company of hip restaurants in LA would drop the ball like that.
The service was excellent and the ambiance was great but the food was average
I went there alone and they took care of me really well I totally recommend the service and the the food of this place.
The waitress was not good but the chef was great and so was the food!
Menu changed... please keep some of the old veggies! And, what? No teriyaki sauce! But, it’s still amazing food. Will go back for special occasions
for the price of the experience, it wan't worth it. the food was not that good and the service was poor. I left disappointed.
The sushi was very mediocre
We've had several birthday celebrations at the Teppanyaki at ROKU and you never disappoint.
We're able to incorporate everyone's specific diet.
over priced and the server was very busy somehow.
cook didn't have enough "tricks"?
