Please say it’s not true. The waiter told us the restaurant is closing. They have a challenging location, but everything else is top rate. Hope they can find a new location and reopen so we can again enjoy this wonderful restaurant.

We moved to Tyson’s 8 years ago anticipating a more urban environment based on the Fairfax County Development plan. The development is proceeding as anticipated in every part of Tysons. In our humble opinion Ten Penh was the best fine dining thing to happen in this development so far. We were there on opening night and will be there on it’s closing night. It was our absolutely favorite restaurant and we are mourning its closure and hope that management will consider opening Ten Penh at a new location in Tyson’s soon. The food is consistently superb, service is wonderful and it is a beautifully designed space. The location was a challenge and with major tenants of the Silverline building having left in the last year, its resident customer base shrank rapidly and the restaurant could not attract enough customers to make up this loss. It is a classic case of a great restaurant opening before its time. It is anticipated that within the next few years the customer base in Tyson’s will be more than sufficient to see Ten Penh thrive. Let’s hope that Passionfood sticks with Tyson’s and opens Ten Penh and other restaurants in Tyson’s soon. Au revoir.

We’ve been meaning to come here for awhile now. Service & food were outstanding & incredibly reasonable. I wish all the restaurants in the area were of this caliber. It’s very sad to hear they are closing in less than two weeks. I can only hope this restaurant returns in the near future, in a location that will due it justice. I sure hope Passion Fish will be around for awhile.

This was our first time to the VA location of this former DC restaurant, and we probably will not return. The positives: the location is convenient with $5 valet parking, the ambiance was nice, my Vodka martini was excellent and our server was attentive. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is not what we remember, and we were disappointed. The online reviews of the duck were mixed, but I decided to try it because I love Peking duck. As it turns out, the negative reviews were on point — the duck was tough, the skin wasn’t crispy, the pancakes were dry and tasteless and the cucumber slices were too large. My husband ordered the halibut, and it over cooked and dry. Overall, we didn’t have a positive experience.

Our waiter, Francesco and his team were all outstanding, as was the food. The sushi rolls were very tasty, the moo shu pork was great, and the spring rolls, dumplings and potstickers were delicious! Great variety of cocktails as well. A stellar experience!

Service was awful. My wok smoked lobster was bad and I was sick all the next day. Atmosphere is not nearly as nice as the old Pennsylvania Avenue TenPenh, which was one of my favorite DC restaurants. Very disappointed.

We were a table of 4 and each of us tried a different appetizer and entrée. We also shared so we could try all the different choices. Everything was excellent. We had the Japanese pancakes, grilled octopus, and Rangoon crab dip as appetizers. The portions were large and encouraged sharing. For the entrees we had scallops, Peking duck, a pork chop and sizzling rice bowl. All the portions were very generous but everything was so good that we all finished our plates. They have a large selection of wines and sakis. The only hiccup was on a glass of sauvignon blanc that had no taste. The server when I mentioned it immediately took it away and I ordered another mixed drink which was delicious.

One of the best restaurants in the Tysons Corner, VA area. Normally I would give it 5 stars- but I can only give it 4 stars because the waiter was only fair - I asked for a sample of the French bottle of wine before we decided between 2 wines and he said "we don't do that". Whereas, on a previous occasion, the waiter did give us sample tastings of several wines. I was very disappointed.

The food was delicious. My friend and I split the vegetable spring rolls and we gobbled those down fast. I ordered the Wicked Tuna Roll and the Green Papaya Salad. The sushi rolls were delicious but the papaya salad was disappointing. I think the dressing was all at the bottom of the bowl and was bland on top of that so I ended up having to add chili sauce to add some kick. Our waiter was very good. The patio was very nice place to sit and eat.

I have been to Ten Penh multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not this time. The service was atrocious, the sushi tasteless. The dumplings and egg rolls were good, but it took so long to get our cocktails that it put an immediate damper on the evening. A very loud group of women diners made the dining room a noisy din. Will think twice before coming back again.

TenPenh does it again: great service, awesome food and excellent atmosphere to celebrate my husband's birthday! The staff is awesome and even arranged to make him wasabi mashed potatoes, that he loves and are currently off the menu. All the food and drinks were awesome and we look forward to our next visit and trying new items on their menu.

Our waitress, Kathy, made our experience very enjoyable! The food was tasty, a little on the spicy side for someone who is sensitive to it, but the wait staff kept our drinks flowing! The amusant presented was the corn and crab egg drop soup. I will likely order a cup of that when I return! We ordered the steamed pork dumplings (very good), the scallion pancakes (not what I think of as scallion pancakes, in fact, it was difficult to find any pancake in the pot), and the ahi tuna (the best of the three) for appetizers. For sushi, we had the rainbow roll (two stars), the rock (four stars), and the Chesapeake Bay roll (the clear winner). The lamb was an excellent combination of sweet and spicy flavors. We took our desserts home, so that affected their presentation and timing. The donut holes were tasty, but a little dry, necessitating the whipped cream. The coconut let lime tart was delicious; it's probably worth five stars if eaten immediately after it's served. We would return to try other interesting dishes there, but mostly because of the wonderful service (we will definitely ask to be at Kathy's table again)!

I loved TenPenh when it was downtown and had been meaning to give the Tysons location a try. The dining room and decor was nice, modern and comfortable (aside from leaving the restaurant to find the restroom in an office building lobby which was a little isolated). The service was also very good. However, the food just did not live up to the delicious memories of the downtown location. While the description of the special appetizer of the evening sounded delicious, it was not unique or special. Similarly, I ordered a sizzling shrimp bowl and it was very average. My friend ordered crusted halibut and she enjoyed hers more, but it also was not memorable. Based on the meal, we would not plan to return. It is by no means bad, but it is not something you will crave when there are so many other spectacular options available.

I am not going into significant detail however this was the worst meal my wife and I have had in the last 2+ years. Both of our meals came out incorrect and when they came back with the replacements mine was incorrect again. The manager on duty was rude and disrespectful and the staff were all untrained and unknowledgeable. Bottom line, if you want a terrible experience and even worse food come to this restaurant. If not, visit another restaurant as there are so many better places to spend your hard earned money. Lastly, I learned this restaurant is owned by the Passion fish Management group. I am so sorry to hear this as my wife and I eat at Passion Fish in Reston at least twice a month. Because of the disrespect we received from the manager we will not be spending our money at the Reston location or any other other location in their portfolio for the foreseeable future.
