First time and we would go back. I had the Chicken and Waffles and it was awesome.
We had brunch for a friends birthday, everyone was extremely nice and the food was delicious! They were very accommodating to our large group!
We decided on Ten Penny because people we knew enjoyed it. It exceeded every expectation we had. The food was amazing and the staff was fabulous! We can’t wait to go back again.
Some of our food was quite cold
Everything was great! We started with some Caesar salads which were pretty decent size for a side salad. Followed by the chili cheese fries. They were to die for!! I got the Cajun shrimp Alfredo and my wife got the Parmesan crusted chicken. Both were great and full of flavor. And for desert we had the molten lava cake. It was a tad small for two to share but it was delicious. The ambiance was so cool! We will definitely be returning.
We had a nice Valentine's Day dinner. The Filet and Lobster Ravioli three course dinner was excellent. The service was great. I will definitely go back again.
Got reservations the same day through the opentable app for Valentine’s Day, the food was delicious, we will certainly go back!
Went for Valentine’s day. The staff was friendly and attentive, food was delicious. The filet on the Valentine’s Day special was fantastic. The manager came around, thanked us and gave us a gift card to come back another time. The skillet cornbread appetizers is a must!
Crab cakes were delicious. Great service!
Attentive service, large portions, wide selection.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, AND VERY CONVENIENT TO CONVENTION CENTER AND CULTURAL DISTRICT!
This was a great place for a Sunday brunch downtown. The menu items were varied and unique. Everyone at my table loved their food. The lemon berry pancakes and mini donuts were delicious. The "Pittsburgh" themed choices were a hit with the guys! I will definitely go here again!
Food was good but not great. The drinks where good. The biggest issue is the prices of the food. If you don’t care about overpaying for food then this place is fine but for what we paid I wouldn’t go back
Warm welcome, wonderful waitress, whole party will return again.
Busy night, but the service was good and the food was excellent for the price
Service was not very good. Had the reservation, got there on time and was seated, but then took a very long time to see our server, and would not come back regularly. My wife's order was wrong and missing an item. Food was good but very bad service.
Very accommodating with our large group. Good drinks. Appetizers were a bit overdone. Entrees were quite good but not all that hot. Our server seemed less than thrilled with us, but he split the appetizer among all in the group and that’s a rarity!
A great place. Close to the convention center. Great service at our table
Shrimp and Grits were delicious... one of the best brunch spots in the city!
Two words: Skillet Cornbread!!
Incredible food, great service, always a solid choice. Reservations weren't needed on this night, but always a wise idea.
Our waitress was not very attentive or pleasant. She didn’t wish me a happy birthday even though we were clearly celebrating it. Additionally, she didn’t bring our plates for our appetizer.
Moreover, only my fiancé, dad, and I enjoyed our meals. Other family members said that the waffles for the chicken and waffles were tough and that the steak for a salad was overcooked and overdressed.
I usually enjoy this place, but my fiancé and I have received much better service on their “prime” nights (Friday and Saturday). I’m not sure if I would visit them on a slow weekday night or Sunday again.
We dined here prior to attending a show. Instead of going the entree route, we ordered 3 small plates: charred Brussel sprouts, spicy calimari and capers flatbread. There was plenty of food and everything was very tasty. We also ordered one of the winter cocktails, the spiced up Okd Fashion. It was very good.
Our particular waitress was ok. Compared to other restaurants, she didn’t engage with us. The restaurant was not busy, but it was difficult to find her to ask questions. All in all, we will definitely return.
We had a wonderful lunch before a show at
The Benedum. Our server was so sweet and accommodating- she made it even more enjoyable!
I gave 4 stars for food only because our chicken and dumpling soup barely had any dumplings but it tasted good! Apple crisp was amazing!
Love their brunch and bloody Mary’s. It’s my go to when I’m in town
The food was pretty good but the service was not good at all. The hostess’s are always rude, but this particular evening we had a very lackadaisical, would-really-rather-be-somewhere-else waiter. He looked so unhappy to be there, and even mentioned how the year before the tips were bad on NYE. We soon realized why. The place was not busy at all and took us FOREVER to get our first (and only) round of drinks. The food came out at all different times leaving some of us without food for a bit while others left theirs to get cold trying to wait. Only one of us got a 2nd drink and the waiter never came back to check on us or refill drinks for anyone else. He was just miserable. I finally had to go find him just so we could get our bills so we could get on with our evenings festivities and even then it still took forever. None of us left him a good tip. It was NYE—what a way to start off the night!!
Fries were not crisp - they were limp and cold. Pasta was good. Burgers were average.
Great vibe. Awsome food. Highly recommend to visit
We felt rushed and unwelcome. Food was good. Service was terrible. We understand it was the end of their shift but that isn’t our problem. Won’t go back for a special/intimate occasion.
Family Christmas Eve dinner. Not uppity. Difficult to get to with current Pittsburgh construction issues 12-2019
Several items not available, including drinks and food. Flaming bread pudding burnt ant not able to be eaten. Thought it would be lit in front of us for the kids. Service was fairly slow given few customers at that time of day.
Service was poor. She tried her best but had essentially the entire restaurant to tend to. Crab dip appetizer was not edible. The rest of the food was nothing special or redeeming
Service was good. Pork chop cooked medium well mostly but had medium rare places closer to the bone. No changing table for infants/toddlers in the rest room.
General Manager greeted us as we walked in. First class food and service. Thanks
We went to Ten Penny for dinner before a show and had a wonderful time. The Happy Hour deals are amazing, and everything was delicious. The food portions are quite large! Nicki was our server, and we never went without a drink. Cannot wait to go back!
For the 4th year I’ve took my team for a holiday lunch celebration at Ten Penny. In the past we’ve always had good service and good food. This year was the exact opposite. It took just over an hour from the time we sat down to when we got our food. This year there was only 3 of us so it wasn’t like we were a large party. When the food finally did come it was lukewarm at best. I guess next year I’ll be taking them somewhere else. Also won’t be going there with my husband or on girls night any more. Oh well there are plenty of good restaurants just steps away.
Taste and presentation was excellent.
Wife and I really enjoyed the meal and ambience. The restaurant was quite active due to numerous holiday parties but the restaurant manager did a stellar job in allocating space based on needs and dining expectations. We will definitely return.
I basically had two disappointments. First, let me tell you what was better than expected. The appetizers were large and very well made and presented. We loved the brussel sprouts and the calamari, excellent.
My chicken with the chicken and waffles was very overcooked (fried) and dry. Then, when I asked if they made Irish whiskey, the server said yes, but their version was simply Bailey's in Coffee with creamer...$10.
A huge disappointment since I opted for the Irish Coffee when they were out of the bourbon bread pudding.
I'm not sure that I would repeat.
