I made reservations and was seated quickly. All the staff was friendly and professional. When asked questions they were knowledgeable and honest. I and my friends had a wonderful experience.
very nice evening with friends.good food and drinks, it a bit noisy
food was tasty fast and our waitress was very accommodating to our needs
The meals are all excellent!! We have been there for dinner, and this time for lunch on a Sunday. Not a large selection on the menu, but the banana broule French toast was heavenly and all 6 others at my table raves about their food too! Highly recommend! Parking is a problem, so Uber is best.
Great time and good food!
Great place for lunch and casual dinner. Family friendly with a nice selection on the kid’s menu. Good beer selection at the bar. Friendly and courteous service. Great location and easy to walk to from most places in downtown Pittsburgh.
We always go to Ten Penny for special occasions and it never disappoints. This time we took two of my cousins and they loved it. My daughter chose the restaurant because we were celebrating her great first year of high school. She specifically wanted the Dirty Pierogi Flatbread and it was a hit with everyone.
Food was spicier than we thought it would be. Wish the menu would have mentioned it.
Food was good. Service not so good. Soup brought late and main course came before able to finish
Excellent service! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for a warm
Food was fantastic and the place is beautiful. Only complaint is the service was very slow. We ordered a couple appetizers and a table of 10 gentleman arrived after us and had their entire order and appetizers before we even had our apps!
Just make sure when you come you have ample time! The food is worth the wait!
The manager came around to see how we were doing- I asked him for another drink- he came back a little later with my drink and was very apologetic about “taking so long” and explained he would not charge me for the drink- even after I told him it was OK and did not take too long. Exceptional customer service!
Food was excellent, but for 3 drinks and four appetizers, it took over an hour to get. We arrived at 5:30, we were seated right away and ordered quickly. Our food didn't come until an hour later, we had to rush to eat as we needed to leave by 7 for our concert. The server was great. the place was empty, so there is no reason appetizers should have taken so long. We ended up not getting dinner b/c the apps took way to long
Our service was incredibly slow. Food and drinks were just OK.
I was so excited to have an evening with my friends! I have been to TenPenny before and enjoy what I had so I thought this would be a great dinner option for everyone. The look of this place is amazing! You are comfortable right away! We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table. It all went downhill from there. After we ordered our drinks it took over 20 minutes to receive them. We actually thought about ordering the next round when they came because of the amount of time it took to get them. They were all pretty tasty minus one who said it had a super strong whiskey flavor and they weren't expecting that. We ordered almost right away because we had someplace else to be. Almost everyone ordered off the appetizer menu and two ordered salads. After waiting over an hour for our food, we had to the waitress to bring out what was ready and cancel everything else. What came out was ONE salad and THREE other appetizers. Now I understand we had a larger party (10 ladies) but waiting this long for food that was off the appetizer menu was ridiculous! I also may be able to understand the long wait if the place was super busy but it was nowhere near that. We asked for our bill, shoved down (and split) what we had of our food and went along our way. As we were leaving we heard other people complaining so it wasn't just us. We attended our concert hungry...thank goodness for concession stands!
The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable. My husband and I will definitely be back.
Such a fun place and on a beautiful day with the doors open it's great! A true Pittsburgh experience!
We show up for brunch, they give us a lunch menu. We then have to wait until they can find the brunch menus. Our server only asked half the table if they’d like coffee. Eggs were bland and pancakes were extremely flat. Granola had dried fruit not fresh. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
We had dinner here before seeing at the nearby Benendum- and it was perfect!! Excellent food and service! We will definitely dine again!
Very disappointing from a restaurant that used to be a consistently good place to go. Went on a Tuesday evening with reservations for 6:30pm, once seated there was no drink menu at the table, then they had to go find one. We ordered and it took approximately 45 minutes to receive a sandwich and fries. They arrived cold and dried out, the wait staff should have notice the temperature of plate before serving. I returned them and they were replaced in about 5 minutes but when the bill came I was charged for both meals. I understand that sometimes things happen but what was most disappointing is the manager who was aware of the situation and the wait staff seemed not to care to make it right. We were then late for our 8:00pm show. Will not be going back. We are fortunate that we have other very good restaurants to choose from in Pittsburgh.
We went to Ten Penny for brunch on Father's Day. We had a party of 12. We had a fabulous time. The food was great and the service was outstanding. We had Ryan as a server and we can't say enough about how awesome he was!! He was so accommodating and so helpful. He made the brunch fun and was sure to celebrate and recognize the 4 different fathers at the table. He also went out of his way to make sure we were able to get some kid friendly food (plain pancake and plain English muffin) made special for our 4 year old! We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend dining here. Also, try and get Ryan as your server!
Ten Penny is located on the outer fringe of the Theater district... very near to the Convention Center. However, in good weather it's just a nice, few block walk to the main theaters.
Our service was good and the food was very good as well.
It was just a tick noisy in the dining area, but nothing overwhelming at all.
I look forward to trying more of their menu on my next visit.
While the food here is very good, and reasonably priced I can not recommend this restaurant based on the service. I have never experienced such rude service in all my travels. Every request was met with an attitude (ie, can I have some extra napkins, I would like to order another drink). Nothing unreasonable. When our waitress finally brought the check, there was no comment from her - no thank you, nothing. There was no manager on duty??? to mention this to. No one that works here cares which is a shame because the food is good, and the location across from the Westin is ideal. Oh well, they don’t care anyway!
They need to wash their dishrags. The whole time it smelled like dirty dishwater.
Would not pick this again with all the other options in Pittsburgh. They were out of a lot of items... sour cream, jalapeños, brussel sprouts. We were there for a birthday and they were aware, we were paying our bill and the waitress brought the birthday guy a gin and tonic. He already had 2 and we were about to leave... why not just comp one of the two or bring him something other than a drink? Extremely disappointed
It wasn't very crowded yet the service was very slow and inattentive and the food was horrible. We all left large amounts on the plates as it was not worth eating or taking home for later.
When in town for a show or event on weekend make it an effort to stop and eat here. Service is quick and friendly. Foid is always good. Highly recommend the Calamari.
Fantastic overall. Food is outstanding. Atmosphere and casual and comfortable.
Good for lunch or dinner before a show at one of the nearby theaters. Spouse had the kielbasa and pirogi dinner which was excellent and filling , although the pirogis were a little too crispy for his taste. I tried the mac n' cheese and added the fried chicken. Mac n' cheese was rich and creamy with crunchy topping but the fried chicken bites were almost non-existent. Had to search for them mixed in with the macaroni. A lot of hard surfaces that bounce sound around rather than absorbing it and there was a large party (10-12) that made the noise level uncomfortably high at times. Would go again if in the area for a show but it's not a destination kind of restaurant.
We waited over an hour for our food and once it came it was cold, overdone and not good. Very disappointed bc the menu looked great. Server did all she could. Not her fault at all.
Service has continued to worsen with each visit, but the food and menu selection never disappoints!
Ryan was a great server! He handled 2 tables with ease we really enjoyed it!
Great food an service. It is just a very noisy place.
We were seated quickly.
We waited a long time to be served. Went to hostess to make sure we weren’t forgotten. Then still had to wait for service!
The restaurant was only half full at most at the time.
After we were served we really did enjoy the food.
Great outside eating. The calamari was scrumptious , definitely a hit. We ordered the pierogi and philly cheese steak. We shared the fries which is an all time Pittsburgh favorite as to how they made them.
The food is really good, and our server Nate was spot on. However, there was a group of folks celebrating happy hour at the bar that was SO LOUD so consistently (as in shouting loud) that it truly negatively affected our dining experience.
Delicious food, good service, great venue. Maybe just a little bit pricey, but you’re in the city so you can’t really expect less.
We really enjoyed the crab dip. It was amazing! Very calm atmosphere
Incredible service and great food for the price!!!
