Went for restuarant week. It's more of a nice place to go with friends and is pretty loud which is ok with live music. Was going to have a beer but the tap beers were very warm. Appetizers were good. Wife had beef wellington and it was Amazing. I had potato wrapped halibut. The flavor was good but the fish was overcooked and dry. Desserts were ok. Blueberry bread pudding was good. Waitress seemed overwhelmed and it was hard to get service when needed. She was bartending and waiting tables. She did very well given her circumstances.

We went to Tempo for my birthday. We drove about 20 minutes from Surprise to try something new. It is located on the cutest little Main Street in Verrado. Main Street reminds me of a beach town you would find in SoCal, minus the beach. The atmosphere was really nice for a birthday celebration. The lighting was romantic. We had 5 adults and a child. There were a few rowdy kids being loud in the bar with their parents, but that wasn’t the restaurant’s fault. They did run out of several dessert options which were supposed to be part of the “Prie Fixe” menu during Restaurant Week, but they came up with reasonable solutions for us instead. The scallops were the best I may have ever had in my life! We will be back!

While we love having options for dining right there in Verrado, we are disappointed that the food is not as good as it could be. This most recent visit, we just ordered a couple of tapas. The jalapeno tater tots were extremely bland (couldn't even tell there was anything "jalapeno" about them, including dipping sauce) and the bang bang shrimp had a hot sauce, but no "flavor". We haven't really been impressed with the flavor on several of their entrees in the past either. I remember they once had a chicken pot pie that was awesome. I hope they bring that back for the fall/winter menu. We eat here mainly because of the convenience of it.

This place is the hidden gem of the West Valley. The food preparation is outstanding. The presentation is both professional and original. The food is to die for. Great service. Very good bar... needs a bottle of Campari to be an outstanding bar however. ;). Awesome.

Food was great. I had the fish fry and my friends had the meat loaf. Mussels as an appetizer was delicious. The only downfall was that there were several groups that were extremely noisy that we couldn't hear each other talk. Besides, their children were running rampant around the restaurant. If it wasn't for the food being so good, we would have walked out.n

We had a great family meal at Tempo. The kids loved their pizza and my husband and I enjoyed the steak and short ribs. The atmosphere was fun and we always prefer going to a unique and local place over a chain. We will be back!

I always find it strange when making a reservation and then being told there’s a 20 minute wait when you arrive and that’s what happened here. The food is amazing though! It’s pretty loud, but very trendy.

We were hoping this would be really nice place to celebrate my wife's birthday because it is close to home and the reviews were good. This being the case, we set our hopes and expectations high. Unfortunately, it did not even come close.

I made the reservation through Open Table and noted we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived, we were given the table closest to the entry door with very uncomfortable chairs. The bartender did not have the ingredients to make my wife's drink, nor did they carry the wine she likes as a substitute. The complimentary bread was very good. It took 30 some minutes to get our food. The pasta itself was good, but overall, the entrees were unremarkable. And they did not recognize the fact that we were celebrating a birthday.

Any business can have an off day, and I usually make it a point not to dismiss any restaurant after just one visit, but in this case I'm going to be pretty hard pressed to make a return visit. However, being somewhat anxious to find a nice place close, coupled with some of the reviews of other diners, we may try again.

We want to like Tempo so much but there just doesn't seem to be anything on the menu that says go back time and time again. We lived in North Carolina and two of favorite restaurants were Bonefish Grill ( great menu, reasonably priced and atmosphere wonderful) The second one was Bad Daddy's (be far the best burger and fries anywhere) Great prices and consistently good! Fun, crowded and for every age group. Salads fabulous. Have someone go to these places and incorporate these tastes...........you would have customers repeatedly coming back and a line out the door continually. I realize this is not chain restaurant but the food choices just are OK not spectacular. Sorry.

Food was very good, but the service was horrible. 4 tables were seated way after us and they all got drinks, meals etc way before us. Once we ordered drinks we sat for 15 minutes waiting for them to be delivered. Our salads took 30 min to come out. A nice casual meal took 2.5 hours. Not good

We have dined here several times. Great location, super cute downtown Verrado location. Over a course of time, receiving your food is taking longer and longer with more mistakes than usual. Not sure if the chefs have changed or what's happening. Our favorite server is Miranda! She is amazing!

Greeted promptly with friendly staff. Excellent food. A little too warm out to eat alfresco but would like to eat outside on their patio when the weather cools off. I had the risotto which was cooked perfectly. Great tasting house Chardonnay at Happy Hour price till 7pm. Bruschetta appetizers were great. We will definitely be back.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area, and we try to eat here every 2 to 3 weeks. A great setting and atmosphere add to the usually delicious food. Tonite was just not up to par...it can happen to any restaurant, so no big deal. The Maryland crab cake appetizer tasted good, but contained very little crab that could be seen or tasted. Also, it was presented not as 2 “cakes”, but 2 piles of breading similar in looks to turkey stuffing. Not worth the price. My Tomahawk Pork Chop was, as always, excellent. Flavorful and moist, cooked to perfection and served over tasty couscous. My wife ordered her usual Salmon, but they have changed the entire dish from what it had been previously. It had been Scottish salmon, but now is wild Sockeye...it is quality fish for sure, but has a more gamey taste. Also, the couscous has a marinara type sauce now instead of a white sauce. If the menu stated the new recipe, we didn’t notice because we just ordered what we always get. Others may enjoy this style of salmon, but it was a disappointment to my wife.
We certainly will return because we’ve had so many enjoyable meals here in the past. One disappointing meal is not enough to change our minds, but we will certainly ask if there have been any menu changes beforehand in the future.

Another great meal! Crab cakes, salmon, and a Tomahawk pork chop made up the three entrees, and all were expertly prepared and flavorful beyond belief. Our meals were slow in arriving and we got a bit restless waiting, but our server explained that a party of 15 was just ahead of us and everything is cooked to order...so that slowed the kitchen down. However, it was worth the wait once the food arrived. We appreciated the fact that they didn’t take short cuts with our meal quality in order to reduce our wait time. So nice to have a chef owned, non-chain, make to order restaurant so close by. Can’t wait for next time already!
