Love the menu and the variety. The Veal Meatballs are to die for!
We arrived early for dinner at 5 and learned that Tempo has a great tapas hour between lunch and dinner. So we ordered chips and salsa, flat bread and drinks while we decided on dinner. For dinner we ordered the Kolbe burgers, Shepards pie and the Bronzino and all was very good. If we had room we would have ordered the ample chocolate fudge layer cake to share. Next time!
The meals were tasty with nice presentation! Our server was exceptional!! Even though it was quite busy, she was always available and checked on us frequently!!👍👍
We heard good reviews about Tempo from friends and are looking for good restaurants in the West valley, but we must have caught them on a bad night. We went to celebrate a birthday, just 4 of us. It started off well...easy parking, seated right away, welcoming hostess and server. The ambiance is very nice.... industrial yet warm. The service was very good and the menu was interesting. Three of us ordered pasta dishes and the 4th person ordered meatloaf. All 4 of us we’re disappointed with our food. Two of the pastas were watery and tasteless as if the noodles weren’t drained well. The other pasta was drowned in sauce. The meatloaf was so-so. Overall, all our dinners were rather tasteless. We wanted so much to like this place. We’re chalking it up to a bad night for the chef and we may come back for lunch.
So nice to be able to get a reservation for 8 and be seated upon arrival. Restaurant was very busy...a little lag time between ordering and food arrival, but understandable. We were all more than pleased with the dishes we selected. All excellent and a nice variety of selections. An added touch is they treated our two birthday gals to a special treat after dinner. All said we will definitely be back.
The food, service and overall experience was great.
Very nice casual ambience. The menu selection was varied enough to provide a choice for every taste and includes many Italian selections. There is a good wine selection on their wine list. Very nice neighborhood feel.
This was our second time at the restaurant over the past four weeks. We returned Friday night because our first dinner experience warranted a return as the food was tasty and the service was fine.
This Friday dinner was a disappointment. We arrived in time to take advantage of Happy Hour. The waiter was asked if a bloody mary was considered a "well drink". "Well drinks" were priced at $5 on the happy hour menu. After checking with the bartender, the inexperienced waiter confirmed the bloody mary is a "Well Drink". When the bill arrived, I was charged not the $5 but $6.50. Why? The waiter explained the extra charge was for the liquor. Imagine that!
The entree was served before the appetizer arrived.
When we were leaving, we stopped to speak to another diner who was eating "Fish Fry". Who knew? This was neither on the menu nor did our waiter suggest it was.
Needless to say our second experience was not one to savoir. Quite disappointing.
Food was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We had eight people and everyone enjoyed their dinner.
On our way to Tucson and stopped in Buckeye for the night. Looked up restaurants and saw Temp Urban grill and the good reviews. We thought it would be in a strip mall but we’re pleasantly surprised to find it in a charming upscale shopping area in Verrado a suburb of Buckeye. The meal was exceptional, my husband had the lamb special and it was terrific and only 26$. I had the Jidhuri Chicken that was tender and moist. Service great and reasonable wine prices.
Been frequently dining @ Tempo. This is the first time service was fair. Had to ask for bread & water after sitting for 15 minutes, hoping this is fluke!
We had guest from Oregon and tjhey thought the restaurant was ezcellent
Great place for foodies!!! Great variety of food and drinks.
We were there on a very busy night. However, everyone had to have a reservation and they should have been prepared. We waited an hour for our dinner.
Love this place! Fun to come w neighbors!
The new menu was very good! I had scallops and loved them.
God food farm to table food, but service was extremely slow didn’t get salads for 1 hour after we complained and then waited another 45 minutes for main course. Serving sizes generous but pasta lacked flavor and had to ask for Parmesan cheese
We've been a few time. Appreciate the specials that they offer. Love the appetizers... Grilled meatloaf is so good. (a staple on the menu)
We also enjoy their happy hour.
Tempo is always a great choice! Consistently great food and atmosphere. Always look forward to dining here.
It was the restaurant's 5 year anniversary and a friends get together. Food is always creative, tasty and well presented. A local gem in Verrado owned by residents in the community. It was a busy night but the service was top notch and the ambiance was festive. Music and a lively atmosphere.
I had beef short ribs. It was a pot roast slow cooked, stringy and somewhat tasty. Getting or drinks took a long time and there was a language barrier with the waiter. We couldn't carry on a conversation with the four of us at the table without yelling like the rest of the diners.
We took friends to Tempo Urban Bistro on Wednesday night. We were seated promptly. Our waiter was very attentive. The menu had a good choice and the food was excellent.
Good Food and Good Service. Like the locally grown veggies!
Nice evening good food
Chicken Piccata was excellent. Good flavor in the sauce. Service was good and enjoyed the outside patio.
Get place for business and dates. Very laidback and great value
Food took forever to get to us and it didn’t seem that busy. It sure we will be back. Food was delicious. Scotch pour was super stingy and the wine tasted cheap.
We went for part of the AZ Central/Republic Dining week. The menu was eclectic and enjoyable. WE had an Octopus appetizer, which despite its very small portion was quite tasty. We also had the Lamb belly appetizer, which was akin to chewing on a rubber band, albeit a tasty one.
For the entrees we had the Beef Wellington, and the Lobster Spaghetti, both of which were exceptional.
On the down side, there was insufficient wait staff. For a full restaurant we counted three servers. There were more aides filling water glasses and bringing bread and what not than there were people taking orders. However, as we weren't in any hurry it wasn't really an issue, until it came time to leave.
The Worst thing about Tempo is the noise. It is too loud to talk to the person next to you with yelling. There are No sound-damping acoustics at play, and as Tempo tries to be both a Restaurant and Sports bar, it makes the dining experience rather abysmal. We actually forwent our desert course to escape the noise.
Went for restuarant week. It's more of a nice place to go with friends and is pretty loud which is ok with live music. Was going to have a beer but the tap beers were very warm. Appetizers were good. Wife had beef wellington and it was Amazing. I had potato wrapped halibut. The flavor was good but the fish was overcooked and dry. Desserts were ok. Blueberry bread pudding was good. Waitress seemed overwhelmed and it was hard to get service when needed. She was bartending and waiting tables. She did very well given her circumstances.
We went to Tempo for my birthday. We drove about 20 minutes from Surprise to try something new. It is located on the cutest little Main Street in Verrado. Main Street reminds me of a beach town you would find in SoCal, minus the beach. The atmosphere was really nice for a birthday celebration. The lighting was romantic. We had 5 adults and a child. There were a few rowdy kids being loud in the bar with their parents, but that wasn’t the restaurant’s fault. They did run out of several dessert options which were supposed to be part of the “Prie Fixe” menu during Restaurant Week, but they came up with reasonable solutions for us instead. The scallops were the best I may have ever had in my life! We will be back!
While we love having options for dining right there in Verrado, we are disappointed that the food is not as good as it could be. This most recent visit, we just ordered a couple of tapas. The jalapeno tater tots were extremely bland (couldn't even tell there was anything "jalapeno" about them, including dipping sauce) and the bang bang shrimp had a hot sauce, but no "flavor". We haven't really been impressed with the flavor on several of their entrees in the past either. I remember they once had a chicken pot pie that was awesome. I hope they bring that back for the fall/winter menu. We eat here mainly because of the convenience of it.
It’s just a wonderful restaurant with great food.
Has a nice vibe. Went during lunch hours so it wasn't full. Ordered the kobi burger.
This place is the hidden gem of the West Valley. The food preparation is outstanding. The presentation is both professional and original. The food is to die for. Great service. Very good bar... needs a bottle of Campari to be an outstanding bar however. ;). Awesome.
Fantastic chef owned restaurant with many dining options. Rotating specials to keep things new. Great beer and wine selections
Food was great. I had the fish fry and my friends had the meat loaf. Mussels as an appetizer was delicious. The only downfall was that there were several groups that were extremely noisy that we couldn't hear each other talk. Besides, their children were running rampant around the restaurant. If it wasn't for the food being so good, we would have walked out.n
Consistently excellent service and food quality keeps us coming back! The fact that it is not a chain restaurant makes it even better.
Great service, great food! Music a little too loud for easy conversation. Overall, they've got it nailed - can't wait to go back!!
We had a great family meal at Tempo. The kids loved their pizza and my husband and I enjoyed the steak and short ribs. The atmosphere was fun and we always prefer going to a unique and local place over a chain. We will be back!
Pasta made on premises is worth the drive. Other dishes are also very good.
I always find it strange when making a reservation and then being told there’s a 20 minute wait when you arrive and that’s what happened here. The food is amazing though! It’s pretty loud, but very trendy.
