Wow, what a huge disappointment this restaurant turned out to be. We went on a Sunday for brunch on a very hot day. When seated at our table, a server finally came over and ask us what we wanted to drink. After drinks arrived we waited a long time for someone to come back to our table to take our order. The waiter seemed like he had no intentions actually of coming to our table until I asked him are you our waiter? Then my husband's order came out about 10 minutes before ours did. We had to go to the manager because the waiter was nowhere to be found. We were supposed to get small plates, but didn't, also no refill on ice teas, or even water. Waiter made a dismissive hand signal after my husband asked another waitress if we could have some water. This place is not cheap so you would definitely expect more. It's also in the Michelyn handbook for NYC restaurants. Wish one of their judges were there. Food was ok and the hotel is lovely but would never go back there again.
The food was good... just good. I had the 3 oysters for an appetizer, the oyster Rockefeller was inedible!! The spinach tasted sour, I had the roasted chicken for dinner it was very salty!!!
My daughter had the eggplant ravioli as an appetizer, it was outstanding, but her steak was cooked medium rare not medium well, and it had chucks of cooked cucumber in the vegetables... did someone in the kitchen think that was a zucchini?? I wonder. The service was impeccable!!
Excellent food, service and ambience. Can't wait to go back.
Pleasant experience overall. Fantastic and courteous service that makes you feel that you are enjoying an upper class establishment. Food was excellent, though menu presented was different from menu online, where an option I had decided to order was no longer available. On the pricier side for lunch, but high quality service and cuisine for your price.
Bruch with my wife and good friend from out of town (CA). Plate of food was very small considering the price and not very good. Service was not organized and slow. The jazz music was excellent. Overall I would not recommend.
I made hotel reservations at The Beekman for my fiancé and I as we were in town to celebrate her 30th birthday. I searched for restaurants near the hotel and was hot to see The Temple was rated high and was actually located in the hotel. The level of attention to detail was extraordinary. I’ve waitered in the past and have very high expectations. Our water glasses never reached less than half. Crumbs were scraped off of the tablecloth. The timing of each portion of the meal was perfect. Every individual we encountered worked together as a team. Additional touches that were extremely appreciated include a candle in our post meal dessert and they even had personalized her menu to say Happy Birthday! It is certain we will dine her again during one of our NYC trips.
I’m about to make reservations to return.
Amazing atmosphere, fresh food and ingredients and a super staff
This is the second time I have been here. The service continues to be erratic. I had to go to the bar after being seated and waiting for 10 minutes for lack of a server. Once seated I had to seek out and ask multiple times for a wine refill. Plate removal and cleanup were delayed. We were leisurely . Once our waitress took our order we barely saw her again. No table checks. It was clear because we did not order a bottle of wine we were of no interest. The restaurant was not crowded. My wife heard the servers and assistant manager say the following “they are finally leaving”. We won’t be back. My food was delicious. My companions said it was ok. Unfortunate. Beautiful space. In a beautiful hotel. Good luck
Friendly and considerate service.
I've been here a few times. Nice place and the food is great.
Was there for a business lunch. I had the mixed green salad as a starter and my guest had it as an entree. We both experienced fruit flies at a level that was surprising, unappetizing and concerning. Could have bene the day but found it unusual. Liked the rest of the experience.
Great vibe and good food. Little loud but not over load for NYC...
Came to Temple Court for lunch to enjoy this hot new place from Tom Colicchio. Beautiful cool interior made for a great first impression. We weren't seated right away which was odd considering the place had just a few tables with customers. Menu had a lot of good choices and for $32 as a 2-course or $39 as a 3-course prix fixe, it seemed like a good value considering the caliber of the Chef. Unfortunately, all of the dishes we tried were really mediocre: chicken terrine, mushroom tarte and fish were unmemorable (the fish was overcooked in some places and not quite done in others). Something was missing in every dish and we didn't feel like doing this again. I ordered a baked alaska at the end - their signature dessert - and enjoyed that probably the most out of all the dishes but again, not memorable enough to give it more than 3 out of 5 stars. Would come back here for drinks after work but the food wasn't worth it.
Thank you team Temple Court.
This was my first visit to Temple Court and it was a great experience. The service, the food and the ambiance were all outstanding. Don’t miss this neighborhood gem!
Outstanding service complimented dishes which were carefully crafted for maximum taste. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff made us feel very special. What an excellent spot to enjoy a unique offering in a unique ambiance reminiscent of 1930s lower Manhattan.
My favorite restaurant
Visited Temple Court to celebrate my partner's birthday and we had a fantastic dinner. The food and drinks, while pricier (three $ after all), were delicious, appetizing, and well crafted. Our server was attentive, helpful, and friendly. And to top it all off, they made a couple special acknowledgments of my partner's birthday: wishing her well, printing a custom menu for her, and adding a candle to our dessert. Nothing too over the top, but an appreciated showing of care and attention to detail. Fully recommend!
Really lovely evening, food was very good and the evening overall was all good. Love all of the Beekman Hotel restaurants !
I went on a Monday night with my partner for his birthday, this was a fantastic experience. Temple Court added a very sweet detail when I mentioned it was for his birthday on my reservation, they added a customized birthday greeting on his menu - extremely thankful to them for doing that!
Our service was excellent, the food was delicious and prepared amazingly. I am excited to come back here again, my compliments to all on staff!
This place is over the top, and the food and ambiance exceeds anything we have experienced in some time. We discovered it thru OT - just two blocks from our apartment. My first time I had hangar steak tender and perfectly cooked, and my companion had a halibut presentation she said would convert her fro Cod. We. Just took restaurant-particular friends to Temple Court, and they were blown away.
Excellent all around! Very happy with our experience on all levels. We will be back.
We went to Temple court after seeing a show on Broadway. The food was excellent and the service was good. One of the better meals that I have had.
Fine for drinks -- great look, with the way it's attached to the hotel -- but for brunch, the food was so-so, and the service pretty awful. Didn't mention things (from the short brunch menu) that they were out of, needed to be summoned if ever we needed anything, including just water. Very meh. Not even close to being on par with what one would expect from Tom Colicchio.
I dine out for every meal and visit a variety of restaurants. I took a friend to Temple Court for a celebration and an adventure because neither of us had dined there. We were awestruck--every detail of the restoration was remarkable and we savored each course. The quality of the ingredients and the creative blending of them were the best we have experienced at a Tom Colicchio restaurant. We will return soon and we're already recommending it widely.
Everything about it was wonderful. 5 Beekman Street is fantastic and Temple Court a wonderful addition. Very old world, romantic, beautiful service, good wine. Pricey but a very special place.
Not a good place to go if you want to have a conversation with your dinner partners. The noise level ranges from LOUD to PAINFUL.
The staff at Temple Court is incredible! A loving family who treats you as their own.
My first time at Temple Court. I have been to all of Tom's restaurants throughout the years and tonight's meal surpassed all the others. From entering through leaving leaving the greetings and service was excellent. The sweetbreads were amazing as was the halibut. My companion had the rabbit schnitzel which she said was the best she has had. And don't miss having the baked alaska... enough for 2 to share. It is a special occasion restaurant and I am looking forward to celebrating another occasion at the restaurant. A beautiful space.
Beautiful space, great international ambiance, knowledgeable waiter, superior cocktails, limited menu, spring pea salad far too large but good, oysters outstanding, steaks disappointing, baked alaska ratio of genoise and ice cream to meringue was off and the chocolate sauce was overwhelming - poor effort
Love this restaurant! Food is delicious.
We had a fantastic time! The food was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful!
They were rushing us slightly at the end, which is not pleasant, but I would go back.
Food and service was excellent. The cost is what you would expect from a very good restaurant in Manhattan.
I did like the time I spent there.
It was good, giving it an 8.7 overall...the space is amazing and would highly suggest having a drink in the bar at any case!
This restaurant is all-around fabulous from the decor to the food to the service.
This is a great place to bring guests from out-of-town. Start with a drink in the bar where they can see the stunning atrium. Then have dinner at TC, which has evolved over the course of its short life into one of NYC's best restaurants. Everything our table had Saturday night was superb -- from a lovely white asparagus cacio e pepe with a crispy pecorino crust, to a juicy Berkshire pork chop (order medium) topped with hazelnuts, chiles, spring onions and a fava bean salad. Also heard raves for the salmon and the sirloin. Wines were outstanding and the desserts -- which are updates on classics such as Baked Alaska and butterscotch pudding -- provided a sweet finish.
Food was excellent! Live music and ambiance were wonderful.
Once again and outstanding dinner at Temple Court. Great cocktails, superb food, good wine and excellent service.
