Everyone was wonderful and accommodating. The food was superb, the corkage reasonable, the front desk and waitstaff were welcoming and professional. The personal touches for an anniversary celebration were unexpected and delightful.
Can't beat the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. The best restaurant in the Financial District. If you want to experience the ambiance of yesteryear in NewYork and want perfectly executed food, Temple Court is the restaurant you're looking for.
The service started poorly with a sour-faced hostess who sat us and then walked off without a word. Then, we never got the amuse bouche that everyone else in the restaurant received, then we sat around waiting for our entrees, all the while our server would look at us but didn’t come over to say anything. Then, he comes over and starts exchanging our cutlery for dessert spoons and says “oh, I’m so sorry for the delay- I thought you were waiting for entrees but you’re having dessert now” to which I reply, “umm, no, we haven’t had our entrees yet.” He gives us our cutlery back and apologizes and runs away. Then he comes back and tells us our food will be right out but- surprise! It’s another 15-20 minutes. Then we wait another 20 minutes for dessert after we finish entrees. I think it was someone’s last night at the restaurant in the kitchen, there must have been a party going on back there. No real apology, no offer of a comped drink, no nothing. Not even a “have a nice night” on the way out. Crappy service, and we were quiet and polite. Meanwhile, the table full of drunk, demanding monsters (I mean, one of them left the table to order a drink from the bar to bring back to the table- that’s how drunk they were!!) next to us got everything they wanted, quickly, and the couple next to us who were seated AFTER us got all of their food BEFORE us. Real shame- the food was great.
My wife and were at Temple Court during restaurant week. What was really nice is that the whole menu was just restaurant week's selection. And the selection was varied compared to other restaurants during restaurant week. The service was excellent. The mussel appetizer was quite spicey but the spiceyness was short lived and didn't disrupt the palette from enjoying the rest of the meal. The gnuri was delicate and flavorful.
The hanger steak was superb. Although while the portion size was perfect for me, I'm sure real steak eaters would think it was on the lighter side. The snapper was very good and plentiful. Desserts were decadent!
Let me start with, food was delicious! Besides that everything else was a complete joke. The hostess greeted us and didn’t make eye contact once. Then as we stood there 20 minutes to be seated, mind you we arrived a couple of minutes prior to our reservation. The restaurant was 2/3 full. Our server never bought us our drinks, the app was bought out quickly however we waited 45 minutes then we tried to get the attention of staff no one makes eye contact. Then we tried to get the attention of the managers several times however they were busy taking selfies! It looked like there were three managers but it could have been one of them was just a host. Either way after I walked up to someone they finally bought us our entrees after about 55 after the app was served. Then we were ignored for another 30 minutes, no one check on us NOTHING! We finally got the check with the drinks we never received still on it. The FOH staff are all horrible at what they do, not one person makes eye contact and how does not one person realize there is a two top just sitting there staring at them for attention? Never ever again!
It was our first time to dine here at Temple Court. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant. We were taking advantage of Restaurant Week.
My entree was the salmon which also included three mussels. Salmon was cooked perfectly. I like mine done well. The other entrees of tuna salad and skate were also enjoyed.
Desserts of peach melba and baked Alaska were delicious as was the proffered glass of red wine.
Service was attentive but not bothersome. One thing I really like and notice is that my water glass was never below half.
Food wasn’t as good as the previous night visit but overall this place is great with friendly service and inventive drinks. I will definitely return to sample their regular menu
Been coming her for the past 2yrs, food always delicious and taste even better with the ambience and best service.
Food was delicious and ambience was on point. I can’t wait to go back
Lunch during restaurant week — food was superb - service was lacking think they were overwhelmed with restaurant week people - room is beautiful
As busy as it usually is during restaurant week, staff worked seamlessly to create a wonderful dining experience. Attentive, yet unobtrusive. And the meal was delicious. My entire party of eight was very impressed and complimentary. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
Had dinner there for two consecutive nights. Two reasons: I’ve been there before and this time I was actually staying at the hotel. The service is great. The food was very good, but it has room for improvement. Although, it’s hard to tell what the true capabilities of this kitchen are since the menu was dictated by the NYC restaurant week. So, everything I tried was very good. Again, this review includes two nights, so... appetizers were good with pork terrine being my favorite. Hangar steak exceeded my expectations. So did the scallops with pork belly. Scallops...I do like but rarely order because not even top restaurants can get them cleaned right! This one does. Perhaps I have very sensitive teeth but there are only two restaurants I can scallops at in Boston. Now I found the great one in nyc!
Service is impeccable and very friendly. It’s very difficult to get a table without reservations (I booked in advance). It gets noisy but, that because they also have one of the best bars in lower Manhattan. I sampled two drinks, and, one of them is so unusual that I’ve got to try to make it at home. However, I’m not telling you the ingredients. Try it first. It’s called The White Album and it has at least in my mind three ingredients that should not be mixed together but they were and it was amazing! Not sure if prices are the same for a “normal” menu, but the value was outstanding, especially considering the quality and quantity of food. The last but not least is desert: upside down cake was great but baked Alaska is the winner!
Outrageously good all the way around with flawless execution.
Had such a great experience here. Celebrated our first anniversary here, they really go the extra mile with personal touches to make you feel special. Loved the ambience, food, complimentary toast, amuse Bouche and the personalized menus for the occasion. On top of being located in the indoor courtyard of the romantic Beekman Hotel, food was delicious! Although we’ve only sampled the restaurant week menu (which was way better than the other participating restaurants I’ve seen), we would not hesitate to return to experience the full menu to try their signature dishes. Wonderful service!
Service was excellent and food was delicious!
Temple Court is one of the best restaurants in the Lower Manhattan area. The food is amazing. I highly recommend if you are in the area
Excellent "find" for this year's Restaurant Week. The menu choices were many and varied. Everyone enjoyed their selection. And a special (priced) wine was offered that was very good. Seating was spacious and relaxed. I will definitely return!
This restaurant rests on its surroundings which serve to provide some small satisfaction for its disappointing food. The menu is unimaginative at best and uninspiring. The sommelier was excellent but the other waiting staff seemed desperate to see the place empty and,
whilst they went through the motions efficiently enough, were totally lacking in enthusiasm. The food, we ordered fish, was terribly overcooked with an overpowering yet tasteless sauce, completely lacking in complexity and balance. The chocolate pudding tasted like a cheap children's desert or something made from powder. Do not eat here if you are looking for sophistication or even just simple, well cooked food. Avoid.
The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere.
Divine — and not hurried to leave.
We were a party of 8 and had a great experience. It was Restaurant Week and the selection of appetizers and entrees was surprisingly a lot better than most restaurants. Excellent and super attentive service especially served by Miguel.
Beautiful restaurant with good assistant servers. The main server was completely off for both my table and the table next to me asking about the wrong courses and getting the orders wrong. The ricotta gnudi was good, but the skate almondine was so salty that it burned my tongue and I didn't finish it. The server didn't even ask why I didn't touch it.
Bland, mediocre food, had to ask for a salt shaker.
Poor service, rushed on out asap.
Service was slow, but food was pretty good. Love the ambience.
The perfect place to celebrate my birthday with style and class. Friends loved it, too. Everything was on point. The place is majestic.
Outstanding in very way. Amazing food, decor, service. Not to be missed.
Went for restaurant week. The food, service and decor are well worth it.
Unremarkable in every way. Ignored special occasion requests made weeks in advance. Will not return.
We had a wonderful experience at temple court for restaurant week! Shout out to our waiter Jose for providing excellent customer service. Food was delicious and the ambiance was gorgeous. Overall 5 stars!
I absolutely love Temple Court! Couldn’t join the birthday dinner I organized on Thursday 8/8 for our girlfriends due to work schedule. The ladies told me the manager on the floor that eve and staff took really, really, really good care of them — they especially appreciate the printed menu with the birthday wish! Everyone said Temple Court is now their most favorite dinning experience in the city and will revisit with their boyfriends/husbands!
It was my third time being here. Everything was great so I bring a friend today. The food today is wonderful as usual. The only thing that upset and ruin our mood is the service. We made a reservation at 2.15 got seat at 2.20 so it’s perfect. We waited for about 15 mins until the server got to our table. Took the order at 2.35 then we was happy. Taking photo, talking happily waiting for the food. It’s been about 25 mins passed and nothing came out. Not even the complimentary bread. And we recognize the new party of 4-5 seated. The server took their order after about 5-10 mins. Then he realized nothing for us out so he came talking to us and promise to check what’s going on. Around 3.05 someone brought us the bread. I asked him if it’s normally take this long. And he said he’ll check. Then we got the first course served at 3.10. Right after we got served. That party of 5 got served too. My friend was really upset that he didn’t touch any food for good 5 mins.
Then we started having the first course for about 5 mins. And the second course served. I was still on half way of my first course. It was a bad experience that we just keep eating and talking nothing because we were not in the mood and upset. I felt guilty and embarrassed that I invited him to join me. At the end that we were done. Someone (not our server) came and put the fork and spoon for us. We were ready for dessert. Then later he came taking them back and gave us the check. Saying he thought we had ordered dessert. Yes, we did!! I told him. Clearly my server didn’t put the dessert order in. So we just took the pay. Don’t want to wait any longer with this disappointment.
Note: Our server came apologize when we got the first course and promise the other thing will came out with no problem. And that dessert missing happened. So we lose it. He was not there at the end of the meal and other server gave us the bill.
I hope this could be a feedback for to improve this significantly.
Went for Restaurant Week as the menu sounded fabulous. The first course was quite spectacular, as were all the desserts we tried. But, at our table of five, not a single one of us was particularly happy with their main. It was rather disappointing.
Fabulous meal and excellent service. Restaurant Week menu offers many choices and is an excellent value.
Excellent experience. I appreciate that there was only an extensive restaurant week menu so a true equal experience. Food and service was great.
Best restaurant visited during Restaurant Week. Ambiance is lovely, serve staff very polite and attentive. Best was the food, lovely presentation, nice size portions and the tastes were ambrosia. Will definitely go back.
Food was delicious. Noise level was unbearable
The ambiance and service were amazing. The atmosphere is gorgeous. Lovely visit.
