Out of a lot on menu and beers
A little disappointing that we had a reservation & after we had menus & were ready to order we were told they were out of 4 items.....and the menu only has about 12 items to begin with. Apparently they weren’t prepared for the volume of people on Easter Sunday. Food took about 45 min from when we ordered, a little long for brunch. Food was good, staff was busy but also good.
Went here for Easter lunch with parents - felt like a festive environment without being too fancy. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Really appreciated that the restaurant was not too loud.
We went to brunch on Easter Sunday at Temple Bar. Meal and service were decent. When the server was cleaning off the table she dropped the ketchup container - it splattered ketchup on my wife's clothes and son's sneakers. We had to postpone our afternoon plans and go back home so my wife could change clothes and we could clean up.
The server was apologetic - comped us an appetizer, accidents happen so we just got on with it, tipped the server and left.
However I feel that a some things should have been handled differently - whoever was managing the servers that day - should have come over and checked on us and offered an apology - it felt like nobody was minding the store and management were not monitoring the floor. Secondly maybe ten minutes later when we were leaving, the floor around and under our table was still covered in ketchup - it should have been cleaned before we left - again giving the impression that whoever was managing the floor that day wasn't really aware of what was going on. We've enjoyed going to Easter brunch at Temple Bar over the past few years - this year it was a little disappointing.
We really like Temple Bar. The food is always good and the staff are always friendly.
Angie was a fabulous waitress! Food was delicious!
Superb new menu!!
The menu is limited. But everyone in our party enjoyed their meal, particularly the scallops and salmon.
Reliably good food. Booth seating. Cocktails. Could use sound proofing in ceiling.
Temple Bar is one of our favorite dining spots. The food has always been creative, it is quieter than most, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, it is close to our home, and there is free parking. What's not to like? That said, our last visit was not up to snuff in the service area. Our waiter was friendly of course, but she gave us menus without mentioning the wine pairing menu and we had to ask about it, and she returned in a matter of minutes ready to take our order. We hadn't finished reading it. None of this is a big deal but I mention it only because every other time we have dined there our server has been one of best parts of the experience. Our feeling was that our server this time might have been fairly new and perhaps had worked at other high-volume restaurants. We will of course continue to eat there. Anybody can have an off day.
We met my parents for brunch at Temple Bar on a Sunday. The noise level was low, which was great because my father, who wears heating aids, had no problems hearing the conversation and participating.
Everyone except me ordered an omelette, and I got the fried chicken sandwich. No one left hungry or disappointed.
Bartenders are outstanding!!
Waitperson was a screen writer and terrifically knowledgeable about the menu, knew the subtleties of wine and beer and artfully listened to what we wanted and interpreted the menu in light of our wishes. If her writing is as good as her wait staffing, we'll be seeing a lot of her!
Great place - the beets and brussel sprouts are fantastic. The home-made fettuccine was first-rate. Very happy to have found this gem.
The Temple Bar is a very well-run restaurant, casual with excellent service and very good food. It is a place to go for a very good dining experience without any stuffiness. It is consistent and reliable, too.
Amazing food and cool restaurant !!
Great Location! Food was okay. Some better advise from our server might have helped (i.e., Server said salmon is served between medium and medium-rare, but a quarter of mine was very rare/raw).
Great variety on the menu and exciting beer lift.
Usually better than this last visit...service was not good and food quality low. Very noisy. Sorry because it was 0ne )f our regular haunts.
This was our first time at Temple Bar, we had made a reservation but were early and they sat us right away. We were seated near the door and it was cold but manageable. Our server took a while to come and take our drink order. The restaurant was not super busy so we were surprised it took him so long. We ordered appetizers and entrees. Our food came out quickly and was amazing. We had a hard time flagging down our server and he seemed to keep disappearing. We decided to go elsewhere for after dinner drinks and dessert because we didn’t want to wait around for our server to come and take our order. We will probably be back because we loved the food but would not want the same server again
Food and service was impeccable. I loved the Raviolo!
WE enjoyed our dinner. The food was all good, although if you get the pumpkin ravioli small plate. you get one ravioli, which was a bit disappointing. I had a pizza, and I thought the crust was perhaps a tad overcooked. The pork buns were good, as was the calimari. We didn't see any dessert choices that were appealing, so we did not have dessert.
We all had different dishes, and all four of us were delighted with our dinners, including three main courses , and two of the small plates. Delicious! Wonderful wine selection. My only request would be to keep the music level far lower, as it was too noisy for good conversation for four.
Great atmosphere. Good food and drinks. Bar was slow and waitress never brought our dessert, just the check. Overall would go back but won't sit in the high tops section again, much better at a table.
Secpnd visoit to Temple Bar. As pleased this time as our first because of friendly greeting, informative wait staff, good service, very good food plated and served well and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. We will be back!
What a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Both myself and my date were delighted with our meals and drinks
Had a very nice dinner. Attentive service, fine food. Portions just right.
First time visit, and really enjoyed it. Great food and drink, vibrant atmosphere, friendly people working there, easy parking. Highly recommend.
The good: The food was tasty, parking was easy. Service was good. Easy to get a reservation despite being last minute for Saturday night. Nice atmosphere. The less good: Lighting was too dim - it was hard to read the menu without a flashlight. Cost of a bottle of wine was higher than it ought to have been but the wine was good. It was a bit on the loud side, a problem for those of us who are beginning to have hearing problems. Overall: It was a good all around compromise with many positive points.
Great spot to meet friends and share some delicious food and cocktails. The staff and kitchen were very accommodating for my gluten allergy - they even used a separate frier for the (rice flour battered) calamari! YUM! They also prepared several small plates to be gluten free for our table to share. Everything was very good - I just found the majority of the main courses to be a bit pricey for an everyday dinner. It would be a great date spot.
Went there for brunch, coffee was great and refiled were prompt. Bloody marry was good but not exceptional. Food was good, they have the basics but with a trendy twist. Price was very reasonable. Would recommend for get togethers with friends and family. Not a place to go if you are looking for a fancy or gorment food. But a great place to go for a good meal.
Very positive all around except kitchen was backed up and we waited for food way too long. Very responsive when noted. Very good restaurant with excellent food and pleasant staff
Good drinks, amazing service! Ordered the cheese plate, which was somewhat underwhelming. Good music, not too loud. Great spot for a date.
The chocolate pudding is TO DIE FOR
Very family friendly despite bar and sophisticated ambience.
The atmosphere is upscale but comfortable, the menu is interesting and the service is great. The calamari appetizer is really good! I've been going here for years and I like that they change it up but keep it consistently good.
As a regular customer, I love Temple Bar. Steak Frites and Caesar Salad are great!
My partner and I came here for our anniversary and it was one of the best dates we've been on. Great food and drinks, excellent service, a cozy atmosphere. We loved it, and will absolutely be back.
The food was fantastic and the Old Fashioned cocktail was one of the best I've had. I hosted a client for dinner here after an all-day meeting and it was perfect - not too stuffy and not too informal. I'd highly recommend.
Temple was a nice surprise. We wanted something easy and good for dinner and this worked great.
