TELÈFERIC BARCELONA - WALNUT CREEK
The Telefèric Barcelona doors were first opened twenty-three years ago, and finally the Telefèric family has landed in the states. Our passionate team in Walnut Creek has grown to include some of the world’s most creative and innovative chefs and mixologists, including two chefs directly from Barcelona. Our downtown location features the first second-story outdoor patio and bar in Walnut Creek, which is available for reservation in addition to our exclusive private dining room.
Fab.... staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Food is different and tasty. We enjoy coming here often. Be sure to make a reservation
Staff was very accommodating of our change in plans -- seated us an hour early, which was much appreciated. Our waitress was attentive, food recommendations from the cart were spot on. Everything we ate was delicious, everything we drank was fab.
I am slowly switching to plant based diet and I was a little worried when my daughter suggested we come here for lunch because I know I will have to order the pulpo and gambas and chicken empanadas. Surprisingly, there was quite a selection of vegetarian choices. We ordered the mushroom flat bread, patatas bravas, kale salad, brussel sprouts and of course a glass of sangria each. It was a delightful lunch date with my daughter. Service was always very welcoming. This wasn’t my first time here and it won’t be my last. Cheers!
Fantastic food and the dancing was out of this world. A bit pricy, but worth it.
Birthday celebration lunch and we had a great time. Very nice staff ....attentive without being overdone. Food is very tasty and we enjoyed many different tapas and a paella. Fun atmosphere and worth trying if u r in Walnut Creek downtown
The service was not so good. We had to ask for water a few times. The waiter was not very attentive not helpful in making suggestions
We always enjoy the food here and if you like Spanish delicious food you won't be disappointed
Only issue was a very dirty men’s bathroom that never was cleaned even after notification
Great place in Walnut Creek
We went on live music and flamenco night- outstanding! The authentic Spanish cuisine is a great idea and most of it is executed very well. Ironically, the pailleia had the least flavor of all of our dishes. Lovely sweet sangria too. All in all, a very fun evening.
We were there for our anniversary. We have been there many times and even visited the main one in Barcelona.
We waited a half hour for a table although we were on time for our reservation. We were told to wait in the bar but there were no seats. We were seated hungry and thirsty and it took forever to have drink orders taken. She did not come back for a good 15 minutes at least. Eventually someone came by and checked on us. We told him we wanted to order and we had not gotten our drinks. He took our order and found our drinks.
Some of the dishes appeared and some did not without reminding that we had ordered salmon and tuna which they eventually found.
There were two middle aged people essentially making love near our table standing up near the bar. We spoke several times to the server and asked her to find a table or a room for them. She was not interested. Another table also complained.
On the bill listed was birthday dessert which had never been offered. Not a great anniversary dinner.
Yummy food and drinks. Great service! The meat balls and pork belly were the faves.
Great service by Megan and food was delicious.
I have enjoyed several meals here in the past and even had a spectacular dinner a few weeks back.
However, for my special birthday celebration all was going splendidly until the main 40 oz rib eye came out. It was so laden with fat that most of it was inedible. My husband and I didn’t want to make a fuss as we were with our dear friends but in retrospect we should have sent it back!
After great food (other than the afore mentioned steak) flamenco entertainment and everything else that went well...we let it go.
BUT, after we got home we decided to let the restaurant know that we were very disappointed in their “signature” rib eye. We were also charged for a tapas we did not order.
My husband has left three messages for the manager but we have not received ANY Return courtesy calls. Is this how you treat your patrons?
As much as I like Telefèric Barcelona, I am reluctant to return or recommend to friends and family based on this experience.
Do not order the $92.00 rib eye unless you ask how much gristle is on the steak.
Disappointed and annoyed with this lack of attention.
Really yummy food and drinks! Flamenco night was very nice. It was a happening place in Walnut Creek for a Monday night!
Teleferic is very different from most places - they have live Flamenco Dancers performing every Monday night at no additional charge. That's a good thing and is most unique. And it's the main attraction for our group of 3 couples.
The food is OK. We had over 12 different Tapas or small shareable plates. A few (Patatas Bravas and Grilled Octopus) were excellent. Many of the others were OK - good. A few items (CRAB CROQUETAS and Chicken Empanadas) were disappointing. All items, including larger entree items are shareable. The most notable was the 40 oz. Tomahawk Ribeye Steak. We saw a table of 6 order it and it looked gorgeous. The people that ate it said it was fantastic and would do it, again. The cost is $92. It was presented to the table to show it off and then taken back to the kitchen for slicing on the carving board and brought back for serving.
But the Flamenco Dancers were interesting and exciting to watch and hear.
great, and fun place . Four of us ordered the Tomhaw steak $92. It was very good but had a lot of fat. Almost half of the the weight was on the fat, wasted. I would prefere liner cut.
Second time here. As before, the food was excellent and my guests really enjoyed it as well. The service, on on the other hand was at best lackluster. We had a reservation and were not even given water on the table for a minimum of 15 minutes. The girls sitting next to us who arrived 2 or 3 minutes earlier than us were also not fed or watered. I saw them in the loo just before leaving and they also agreed; food was wonderful but service was awful.
We had a group of 8 and most everyone was meeting each other for the first time. The service was great, the food was excellent and it was a great venue to being friends
We really enjoyed our meal and visiting time at Teleferic Barcelona. I was joined by 5 friends, and this was our first visit. Great food, nice vibes, excellent wait staff!! Thank you!
Great place for good tapas and sangria. Just came back from spending a couple of weeks in Spain and craved some good tapas. Decided to go to Teleferic to satiate my craving. Teleferic didn't disappoint. A little pricey but that's to be expected in walnut creek.
What a great experience. Love the tapas, the paella, amazing wine and great service!
We enjoyed our first visit which is why we made reservations to come back - unfortunately, our schedule landed us here on an early Friday night- bar hopping after a week of work and the young ladies at the bar made it impossible for us to hear each other because of their shrieking, high pitched laughter and the pick up's going on at the bar. The food was okay but not brilliant - the garlic shrimp were overcooked. The wine was till good and the service impeccable. Dessert was an amazing golden flan with two flavors of whipped cream and crunchy bits. A nice contrast of textures and flavors.
Beautiful setting in downtown Walnut Creek. Free parking close by so you don't have to worry about feeding the parking meters on the street. Food and service were excellent. Will definitely return when I am in the area.
We had a fun birthday lunch! The food was great!
I frequent TELÈFERIC and it seemed like there were not enough servers this evening. Usually servers are extremely attentive. Also, I mentioned that it was a birthday celebration and nothing special was done which was unusual for teleferic standards.
The best restaurant in Walnut Creek
Fine dining tapas !
The patio is pretty too but the atmosphere inside is identical to a Barcelona tapas restaurant!
We went for my mother-in-law’s 75th birthday. Perfect place for a special day. Menu is a bit confusing with their GF/GF available option. Server was not familiar with which dishes were GF friendly and had to ask kitchen a few times even when menu showed GF symbol. Food was great. Good veggies. Rib eye melted in our mouths (highly recommend). Meat paella and seafood paella were good but smaller than expected (looked big but pan was actually very shallow). Desserts were good except the creme brûlée — it was watery... as soon as you broke the candied top, the whole dessert flattened cuz there was no substance to the creme underneath.
Great outside dining area casual but nice sign delicious tapa
Loved everything. Exceptional service, great ambiance, perfect food and drinks. I just got back from Barcelona, Spain and I found the food very authentic. Great for dates, work gatherings, friends. I'll be back!
The waitress and all the workers are friendly and the food is delicious / exquisite. It was a great experience and nice to celebrate my teenage son's birthday at this restaurant
Menu limited and servings very small only for two. Also pretty pricey
Excellent vegetable dishes and grilled octopus. However 3 of us were of the opinion that the Paella was not prepared with the true Spanish rice, texture and flavor were just not there. Also camarones al ajio were lacking in flavors. But once again the four vegetable dishes and octopus were fantastic ! Would return just for these. Also the Arnold-Palmer’s are excellent !
Food is bland, no seasoning and most drenched in oil or fried items are made in old frying oil!
Stay clear here of food. Some items are not even Spanish... such a let down for such a beautiful ambiance!
Service was ok. Go for drinks but eat some where else.
We went on a night with live music and dancers, so it was quite loud in the main dining room. We were sat in a small, separate room to the side which was quite cramped and warm. The restaurant was packed and our server could not manage her section. She took a long time to take our order, forgot to place the order for a few small plates, and didn't often come to refill our water unless we waived our arms in the air to get her attention as she sped by the table. The food here is pretty good, but the service and ambiance of that small room are lacking.
Always love coming here! The sangria is special and a great place to start. The tapas approach is fun and the quality is very good. Will return again.
We had such a great experience here in the past, but the food was not as good as before. We had the grilled octopus which was overcooked and very rubbery. The rest of our tapas were okay, but nothing really stood out. Our paella had precious few pieces of meat; maybe 3 or 4. That seems quite skimpy to me. Secondly, our waitress took our menus after we ordered 2 appetizers so we had to wait to catch her before asking her to return them for more orders. She seemed scattered or overburdened.
We were there to celebrate my birthday. I loved it. Good friends, good wine and good food. 💖
Service was great! Food was delicious and drinks were good. This is the perfect hangout spot for old friends who don’t see each other often. The standout was the octopus. It is so delicious. If you go, please try the octopus dish!
We had a great evening. We went early with reservations so we could have some time to talk before the possible noise level got too high. It worked fine. Pintxos are wheeled around to the tables. Don't miss this. We also enjoyed taquitos de tuna. We celebrated our anniversary with sangria, wine, and an anniversary dessert. Enjoy.
