Ted’s Bulletin - Capitol Hill
We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Whether it’s family dinner, business lunch, or just a Ted’s Tart and coffee to-go, we’re as adaptable as your life is dynamic. Our breakfast menu is available all day because we believe that the most important meal of the day can be had morning, noon or night.
Ted’s Bulletin is a haven for comfort and celebrating the things we have in common: a hunger for good food at great value, a need for a place to be comfortable being ourselves, and a desire to connect with our community. At Ted’s Bulletin, everyone has a table, and every table has a story to tell.
The greeter was great and promptly seated us. Ted’s Tarts were as advertised- fantastic!!
The deviled eggs and pickle-brined fried chicken were delicious!
Very nostalgic, quaint spot tucked away in an assuming block of DC. The menu is impressive but what really drew us in was the fact that breakfast is served all day! Unfortunately my omelette was heavily doused in oil and of the three drinks we tried to order, the bartender couldn’t make two of them because they were out of some items needed for the recipes. Our server, Clarence, was wonderful. He gave us two homemade pastry “pop-tarts” which were very good!
The service was abysmal. We ordered an appetizer that never came. We both had a drink before dinner. I would have had another glass of wine if our waiter had stopped long enough to ask. My husband ordered a beer with his dinner that came right as he finished eating. They are super stingy with the ketchup. They dole it out in tiny ramekins that only hold about a tablespoon. We had to ask multiple times to get enough to go with the fries with our fish and chips. The food was passable but we probably won’t go back.
Was a great place to catch up with an old friend. It wasn’t busy, so we were not rushed to eat and get out. Food is consistently good when you’re in the mood for comfort food.
My only critique is that the projector in the dining room was crooked. The video playing was not lined up. It’s an easy fix. We’re presentation people, so it was driving me crazy all night.
most of the food for our group was good. The short rib roast I ordered was not good. Very fatty and overcooked.
Hello Richard, please contact us at info@tedsbulletin dotcom to discuss the short rib pot roast.
The food has really gone downhill here and my chicken and tiny bit of spinach was tasteless. But my kids love the Mr. Breakfast and the happy value is good.

Each person's meal had issues. The restaurant wasn't super busy. The manager was kind enough to comp us free drinks, but the food was unfortunately not enjoyable on this visit. We'll be back but maybe not on a Thursday night.
We had guest in town from overseas and they wanted some good ole’ American classics. We had chicken fried steak, meat loaf, a hamburger, tomato soup with grilled Mac n cheese sandwich, grilled salmon, loaded tater tots, milkshakes and apple pop tart with ice cream. Everyone was very pleased with their meals and appreciated the variety available. Everyone had a difficult time choosing what to order.
Our servers were gracious and friendly which made our friends’ visit back to the states one that reminded them how nice America is. As military, a Taste of Home is a treat. Thank you!
Great place for a casual meal. Lots of families there. Food was tasty and plentiful. Service was friendly and efficient.
They serve a varied menu of generously-portioned comfort food. It's the kind of place you can bring your kids, your colleagues or your mom and never be disappointed.
Frankly nothing special. On a Friday night, party of 3. Service was polite and accurate, but very slow. Food was appropriate temperature and pretty decently prepared but.... Underwhelming. A bit boring. I didn't feel slighted, but I don't get the hype either. Especially when there are so many other great places nearby.
The gluten-sensitive options were appreciated by my guests, and the staff was kind to allow us to remain at our table to talk for a long period during a weeknight visit. I'd recommend for a group with diverse food/diet needs and desires.
Our service was amazing, Tiana and Urban were pleasant and everything moved quickly. We had breakfast this time,I've had dinner previously, I did prefer dinner over breakfast but it was good.
Great selection of food, small selection of beer (they did have a full bar) but what selection they did have was good. Service was good, great meal for a good value. Especially in DC. The surrounding neighborhood was very quaint with really interesting architecture but the walk from the subway was a bit sketchy near the metro.
Went for dinner and I had breakfast. Not many vegetarian options. Hash browns are like IHOP’s if you like those, you’ll like Ted’s. I had to substitute meat with fruit and still pay the same price. No veggie sausage or bacon here. Pancakes were normal pancakes. He wasn’t impressed.
Husband had fish and chips and said there was more batter than fish.
Overall it was just ok.
Everything was great, food and service included. Only disappointment was the homemade pop tarts deserts. They were dry and really skimped on the filling.
Ted's is awesome. The food and service cannot be beat. Meals are reasonably priced.
A must to visit if you are coming to Washington DC. The food is wholesome, some is old fashioned and reminds me of my childhood. Desserts are decadent and beautiful. Be sure an try the 4 layer carrot cake. You will not be disappointed.
Oh, my goodness, this place is amazing, the food and the service. Went for dinner this time. Going in two days to try the breakfast. Just wow. Wish we had one in Texas.
Ted's Bulletin is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places to eat; however, this location fell incredibly short of my expectations. I made a reservation, (was late to it due to Metro issues), however was seated with the rest of my party right away. There were five of us and it was busy inside. We immediately placed drink orders (to include mimosas) and I ordered each of the flavor of poptarts for the table. The drinks took a considerable amount of time to come out. It appeared our server left them on the bar (after they were made) and was talking to other employees rather than bring our drinks out. She eventually came back and took our food orders, and then brought the drinks (after she was reminded about them). Our food came out pretty quickly (despite it being busy) and was all correct; however, our poptarts were still missing. I instructed the server not to bother bringing them out now; I had ordered them as an appetizer for the table to enjoy while we waited on our food. Our server did not come back to check on us; I did flag another employee down to request hot sauce; he did bring over two types which I appreciated.
Lastly, our checks came out incorrect. I had another person's coffee; not a big deal...but attention to detail would have went a long way. One of the guys at our table received an empty book (with no check) and we had to ask about it.
Overall, while I love Ted's Bulletin and have been coming here for the last three years. This was probably my last experience.
A-mazing! This place was recommended to us and did not disappoint! Get a milkshake if you’re in the mood. Good old fashioned ones!
We ate at Ted's while catching-up with an old friend, so it was nice that it wasn't too loud. The bloomin' mushroom was excellent--so unusual, and the cauliflower app was nice too, but both sauces were too salty. Two of us ordered the salmon, which was perfectly done. The Ruben sandwich was quite skimpy, but the meat was tender and the fries were yummy. What surpassed Everything was the chocolate, banana, peanut butter MILKSHAKE!!!! WOW!
I love this place. Best breakfast in DC! When I come to DC, I always make it a point to come here.
Excellent food, helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend for everyone!
Really good! Pancakes were great!
My wife and I decided to try out this place on our 7th Anniversary. The food and service were great. My wife had the steak and eggs and I had the Crab Cake Benedict. Both dishes were great!
The staff members were very friendly and didn't let us enter or leave without greeting us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Every aspect exceeded just the basic dining experience! Will recommend and will go again next DC visit.
We love Teds and the staff is great. It’s a relaxed atmosphere which is perfect for my 4 year old dinner date.
Great place, good food nice find in DC. Outstanding place to take your family.
Party of six, we all ordered different things and all completely cleared our plates!
Despite the amazing reviews, we were a little disappointed - mainly with the service, which just trickled down to not enjoying the entire experience. Food was ok, our server couldn't make a recommendation when asked between two. We were a party of 4 and were there for a little over 2 hours. I had made a reservation, so we were seated immediately and 30 minutes of those 2 hours was us just waiting on 2 milkshakes we ordered after our entrees. Incredibly slow service and there was a point where we hadn't seen our waiter in so long we thought he possibly left for the night.
Friendly welcome and atmosphere. Amazing milkshakes and huge portions for dinner. Kids were each given a goody bag of pop tarts as their first visit and time in Washington. Would definitely recommend.
Food is good. I was able to make a reservation during the week which is hard on the weekends.
Decided on this place after touring around DC for the day. A short walk from the Metro Station. Nice variety of items/prices. I had delicious crab cakes and fries w some excellent coleslaw along with a $5 happy hour glass of wine. My sisters enjoyed their burgers topped with a fried egg. Friendly, efficient service. We left full and happy. I would definitely return.
Great service, great shakes, great food. Would highly recommend!!!
Excellent service. The Impossible burger was delicious!
Knew I could count on the restaurant to be everything we needed and impress out of town guests with something different who’ve already been to DC. The no milk as an option was weird. Some people cannot drink the alternative milk products due to allergies or other reasons. You may want to reconsider this, although I can’t drink cow’s milk, many people could be put off by this especially since this is in no way a vegan spot
My reservation was at 4 and the hostess told me that he couldn’t sit me because the server no was there, after wait 10 minutes, i asked again, and he told me the same, I asked for the manager because I didnt understood why they didn’t have server at 4:10, finalelly the manager ordered for me the food, he was nice but no one asked me if I was okor sonething , the server started to arrive at 4:15, no professional the service.
