Teatro, located in the theater district overlooking the Boston Common, offers a modern approach to classic Italian dishes. The design of Teatro is both elegant and informal. The open kitchen and high arched mosaic ceiling gives the room a theatrical presence. Teatro offers a full bar and wine list. Full menu is available at the bar.

Teatro Ratings and Reviews
I always enjoy Teatro. Even when it is crowded with the pre-theater crowd, the food never disappoints. This particular night it was unusually quiet because of bad weather, so it was even better. The service was excellent, as usual. My dinner guest was almost a no-show because of the weather, and the server was understanding and made sure I wasn't neglected. It's a great place for a meal.
Wnet here for my mom’s bday dinner before a show and it was a great time. He service was great and the food was delicious! My sister was late to dinner so we ordered a meal for her and they made sure to time everything right so that when she arrived it was hot and delicious!
From the great service to the wonderful food : the shrimp and pasta was great, likewise the Bolognese, and the evening special of wild mushrooms and fettucini to the highly recommended vegetarian appetizer platter to share to the sorbettos- and we got the quiet table we asked for , Teatro was perfect after a show at the Boston Opera House. My only caveat is that the wine list is Very expensive and the cheapest bottle ( and the wine was ok but not great) of wine (red or white) is $40. It would be good if Teatro added some more affordable bottles of wine to their wine list. Otherwise, highly recommend.
Second time in, food was just as good as the first. Love the dining room, the tables are a little close together but that's understandable in the relatively small space. However the one thing that has struck me both times I've been in is the relative inexperience/lack of expertise of my server. I'm in the industry as well so perhaps I am a little more critical of steps of service but in my honest opinion both servers I've had were mediocre at best. Unable to answer easy questions about drinks, literally no discussion about the menu, and a somewhat awkward tableside manner. Again, I loved the food and I will return, it was just a strange feeling to feel as if I was eating at a 5 star restaurant every moment except when my server was at the table.
My daughter and I had an early (5PM) dinner here after the Nutcracker matinee. We shared the fried calamari as an appetizer, I had the prosciutto/honey/fig/soft cheese pizza with a delightfully wafer thin crust; my daughter had the ravioli. All the food was absolutely lovely. Portion sizes were perfect for us (I had two squares of pizza I couldn't finish), but I suspect my husband would have found the serving sizes too small for him. Service was extremely efficient, not at all rushed (even though they no doubt were moving people through for evening theatre attendees), but not remarkably "friendly." (well, the hostess was friendly). The bar looked like it would have been a comfortable place to eat (full menu avail). The noise level is quite high, but we were at a corner booth table, so were close enough to chat easily. For dessert we shared a creamy hazelnut pudding (forget the Italian name) with raspberries, which was the perfectly light and tasty end to the meal. I thought prices were reasonable. I had an Irish Coffee (nicely served, glass arrived with Jameson's poured, then coffee added at table and whipped cream served in separate dish to add as much as you like), when we arrived and glass of PInot Noir with the meal, we shared a bottle of sparkling water, and had coffee after - tab was $101.00. We enjoyed it so much, I expect we will make it a tradition. Oh, and because it faces the Common, we enjoyed the Boston Christmas decorations - very festive.
The staff at Teatro made our dinner so enjoyable and memorable. They were attentive, friendly, and very helpful with helping us to order while dealing with food intolerances. We loved the shareable apps and the pasta. Good selection of wines. We were allowed a leisurely dinner without being rushed even though the restaurant was full. An enjoyable evening!
We were in from out of town and our hotel recommended Teatro; we couldn’t get a table until 930pm...we were soooo happy we waited to eat later. The food was absolutely amazing & the service was superb; we will def be back next time we’re in Boston. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
Four of us went to Teatro before attending a performance of the Nutcracker. We were seated right away. The tables are a little close but understandable since the space is limited. The service was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their meals and appreciated the option for small plates. We had eggplant, pasta with shrimp scampi, and pasta carbonara. Reservations are a must. The location is perfect for Boston theatergoers. Highly recommend.
Consistently delicious food with excellent service, despite the crush of diners before the theatre. We were 30 minutes late for our reservation due to terrible traffic, but the hostess could not have been more gracious about finding us a table as quickly as possible.
This was a pre-theater dinner, and the staff was very well-accustomed to the theater crowd's need for expediency. Unfortunately, they don't open until 5, so you may not be able to linger over cocktails for a 7:00 pm show. Regardless, the food and drinks were fantastic and the service impeccable. Everything was very fresh. Highly recommended.
Teatro is a lovely space that is marred by its aggressive and unsophisticated soundtrack. I have no idea what the "music" was. All you hear is a constant thump in the background. Why, oh why, do restaurants inflict such noise on their guests? The food was fine, but the service was amateurish. One visit was enough for me.
This was my first time to Teatro and I had theater tickets that evening so i was there early. My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The food was excellent and was served piping hot. The fact that half plates were offered was even better, allowing room for dessert. And the coffee was just amazing. The waiter stressed the pasta and sausage in my dinner was made from scratch. The restaurant was lively even for the early time of evening. I will definitely be back and even recommended it to my son for a good "date" restaurant.
Went for a birthday dinner date for my boyfriend. He had a great time and enjoyed the meal. He got the fillet and I got the eggplant. We started with the ravioli and the mushroom soup. Everything tastes delicious (especially the soup). The eggplant, while delicious, was a bit lackluster. Would have enjoyed a more interesting take on it.
Overall, my biggest complaint was just the price, or the value for what we got. But I knew that going in, so I can't complain.
Service was great.
