A pretty restaurant with a good but play-it-safe menu; feels like dining in the burbs in the heart of Boston.
Always enjoy our visits to Teatro!! The pastas are outstanding! The fig salad superb and the tiramisu delicious! Can’t go wrong at Teatro.
Delicious food, attentive service. Favorite pre-theater dinner spot
This was return dining after a previously disappointing experience. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. This is one of my favorite ‘old world’ restaurants in Boston.
Perfect for before theatre. Prompt service but not rushed.
Excellent food and service, although tables are very close together. I would recommend a corner table. Tight spot to get in and out of.
Nice ambience and the food was delightful. Handy location to the theater district, will definitely return.
Always good experience. Staff and food are fantastic and very accommodating for our group having dinner before theater night in town.
Outstanding as always. Great food, great atmosphere, great wait staff. Love it every time we go.
Very friendly staff and incredible food. Overall great experience. Gnocchi was a fine choice, the steak was very well cooked and marinated.
Perfect dining experience prior to the theater. While a Childrens menu was not an option, there are plenty of kid friendly meals to choose from. Overall delicious and presented beautifully.
Teatro is the best restaurant in the Theatre District! The food is outstanding and reasonably priced - rivals the best Italian restaurants in the North End! The tables are packed-in tightly, but that's about the only drawback to Teatro.
Great restaurant for pre show dining. Food always very good
Love it here.
Food, service, ambiance all outstanding.
We went to Teatro before the theatre, so it was very convenient. They have the best bread I've ever had (and I don't eat bread unless it's really worth it). The food was very good. The waiter was professional, personable and attentive. The ambiance was comfortable and charming.
The food was fantastic! Lots of options for meat-eaters and vegetarians and lots of options in general. I especially loved the ambiance, it had a classy ancient greek architecture feel to it. Very romantic. Highly recommend!
Food was delicious. I came here based on other yelp reviews and would say they were spot on for the food but the atmosphere was just ok. I think you could find better more charming in the North End.
We have been trying to get into Teatro at a reason time on a Friday or Saturday night for months and were finally able to do so last night. We really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. The mushroom soup was good and we enjoyed the verdure antipasto. The standout for me was the swordfish. I’m not usually a fan of swordfish but decided to try something new and was not disappointed. Teatro serves it on an excellent dried tomato pesto which pairs well with swordfish. The option of a half portion of homemade pasta is nice as is the vegetarian options on the menu. Planning to return if I can get a reservation.
I have been to Teatro twice so far. My experience at this restaurant has been beyond great. It has such beautiful environment. Service is great and friendly - hostess, waiters, etc. I needed to make a last minute change in my reservation and they accommodated me with no trouble.
The food is amazing! I have had their pasta with Ragu sauce and it honestly brings me back to my grandmother’s house on a Sunday afternoon. Arancini and tiramisu were also amazing.
Another thing that I love about this restaurant is that the prices are reasonable. I went with my partner and we each have a glass of wine - forever young, one main dish each, appetizer and dessert. The total with tip included was about $70 ish.
We are return customers and find the space to be exciting and comfortable. I was really excited to see impossible meatballs on the menu. Its a great place for families or for a date night.
Went to restaurant before heading to theater. Restaurant was full and noisy. Has people left, noise level diminished. Food and service were excellent. My wife did not finish her meal and they held the food for us till after the show.
Our server was fabulous. Dinner was amazing. My all time favorite before the theater.
We had the best time! Very crowded, but did not feel rushed at all. Food was outstanding. Slightly turned off by the presence of homeless people right outside restaurant.
Another great night at Teatro...the food is outstanding. So good that we got take-out (even though we had leftovers from dinner) for tomorrow. Wish we could get there more often. Our waiter, Wilson, was great. Can't wait to get back there soon!
The apps are good but The chicken parm was heavy dry and not tasty. I was here a month ago and the steak was also dry. I had loved it in the past. I loved this place and still love the ambience. But the quality of food has gone down. Not sure why.
Service was great. The food was good and tasty. Portion was good for the value. Cocktails were also tasty. We would go back again.
We not sooner had sat down, had some bread and our wine was opened that our entrée arrived - very quick. The hostess said that many people say that and some are going to the theatre, we were not and not one asked. The waiter should at least ask.
I was very disappointed in my beet salad! Although very artful, it was pretty sparse and fairly expensive. Not what I was expecting (and I think I remember having a very different and plentiful beet salad here before. Could be mistaken). My half bowl of bolognese was delicious. My husband's mushroom soup, although delicious, was also a very small portion and very expensive. His salmon was good and cooked as requested. A little underwhelming for the price.
Delicious meal. Very attentive service. Will return.
Teatro never disappoints. My wife had a half order of cabonara pasta as a first course. She said it was the best she ever had. She also had veal saltimbocca. A large serving that I helped with.
I am a new fan of octopus and had an appetizer with small white beans, pickled onions and sopressata. It was fabulous. Finished with a half order of Lumache pasta with a Bolognese ragu.
It was the perfect end to a perfect afternoon at the theatre, We really need to dine here more often.
The veal was fatty, and had grizzle, it would have been better if not so tough, the rest of the food waas very good
This place is outstanding! Their food is so darn good it is just ridiculous. I'll call it a hidden gem but the place is always packed so it's hardly a secret. We had salad and carpaccio to start, both stellar. I had scampi, my wife rollatini and my son bolognese, all outstanding, delivered quickly and piping hot. This place really rates 6 stars. It's one of the few in Boston I'd rate that high.
Dinner before theater
This was our first visit to Teatro and found it to be very good. We had 5 o'clock reservations and were seated right on time. The food was delightful, the service was spot on and never felt rushed during our dinner . I would most definitely recommend Teatro to my friends.
Wilson was awesome! This was my first experience and I will return.
Everything was delicious!! Would definitely eat here again.
we enjoyed it and will return. good food. friendly service
Great waiter, great food, but tough acoustics.
Thursday night chicken marsala lasagna special was wonderful
