Mistral mussels! Do i need to say more? So good. The meatballs were good but not quite sorellina. The rest was good, not awesome. Atmosphere was ok, service the same. Could tell it was mammano but needs to tighten it up. Overall decent and good if you hit the highlights. Enjoyed it, but not overwhelmed
We were trying to find Italian cuisine without having to travel to the north end. We made a reservation in case there weren’t seats at the bar (which is what we prefer). Luckily, we were able to dine at the bar. We started with the radicchio salad which was great but wasn’t particularly outstanding. Next was the carpaccio starter. Every component to this dish was spectacular and we both were blown away. We tried the smaller portions of the house made pastas - the gnocchi and the orecchiette. The gnocchi was the star of the evening with the braised boar. I’ve never had gnocchi like the gnocchi at Teatro. It wasn’t as soft as what I’m used to and was a pleasant and delicious surprise! My mother came to join us for a quick bite after we had finished eating. She got the mushroom and ricotta pizza/flatbread. Another winner. My partner and I will be dreaming about this meal for months. Unfortunately, I didn’t get our bartenders name, but she was VERY sweet and on top of our whole experience. Too bad we live in Minneapolis, or this would become one of regular spots. I was surprised it wasn’t busier towards the end of the night. Thanks to the Teatro team for a WONDERFUL experience!!!
Have eaten here many times and this was a real disappointment. Two of us for a pre-theatre dinner and we ordered 2 small pasta appetizers and a main dish. Neither pasta was what we requested (my friend ordered a pasta with baby shrimp and she got a very garlicky clam dish instead, and I ordered gnocchi in a plain tomato sauce and it came with short rib--not at all what I wanted) and by the time the waiter checked on us, the main dish had arrived and it was too late to fix and still get to theater. Waiter's english was not very strong so I don't think he understood the problem and didn't do anything to fix it. If you come here be sure to check your meal to see you get the right one!
We celebrated my granddaughters engagement and then went to the theatre. Great service and food
I have visited Teatro several times to dine before attending nearby theater performances. The staff is always fully attentive, and food has arrived promptly to get us out in time. I've ordered something different each time and each dish has been been great.
The food was delicious, including the bread. The prices were a bit high, but manageable. The service was prompt and considerate.
Dinner for two. I had the gnocchi which was great, didn't care for the wild boar. She had the spinach ravioli which was melt in your mouth good. Service was average, server only checked back once after our drinks were empty. The place is small (some would say intimate), but we were basically sitting in top of the people next to us which made conversation challenging.
Birthday the food was amazing. The staff was efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend the Monk Fish.
Teatro is a very pretty restaurant with delicious food. We had the Osso Bucco and Scallops. They were both very good. Not too large, not too small. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Food was inconsistent. My husband's whole fish was delicious but it would have been nice if the waiter had offered to debone it. My eggplant dish was short on eggplant and long on cheese. Loved the meatball appetizer, but not the calamari. Hard to have a conversation due to the noise level. Convenient location for theatre goers.
Service was quite fast - we specified we needed to be out in 1 hour and we were done within 45 minutes. Prices were appropriate for the quality. Bread was fresh and warm, gnocchi were good, ribeye was so so - not much flavor and the chocolate mousse for dessert was just alright. I would recommend Teatro for a quick decent dinner before a show, but not if the sole purpose of your night out is fine dining.
fabulousness..never disappoint... we were both in a food coma...
Lamb Osso Buco is the prefect cold weather dish!!!!
Creative menu, delicious food, fantastic service & just a very pleasant experience.
Waitstaff was inattentive. Took order gave us the bill. Never checked in. Servers were wonderful. Food was over done. Nothing like dried out chicken Milanese. I would rate this second visit inconsistent with the first.
The service is always friendly and interactive.
The pancetta served with the carbonara should be cooked longer which adds additional flow our to the entire dish.
Desserts are very good.
Raviole is outstanding and refined taste.
We have been going to Teatro a few times each year for nearly 10 years now; we have never been disappointed. This past Sunday it was on the quiet side (it can be boisterous when busy); food was absolutely delicious.
I have been to Teatro quite a few times now, I enjoy it very much. Polished glasses, silverware, and clean plates. Napkins folded nicely, excellent table placement. Waiters are helpful and efficient, very lively scene.
The food and service was great. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Good food, good service, nice atmosphere and lighting, a little pricey
Excellent food! Ambiance was fun and the service was very good.
Solid experience. Food was great. Friendly server. However, meals did get delivered to incorrect people and we waited quite a while for our table.
We went as a group of six friends/cousins for a get together. Those who were early grabbed drinks at the bar, and they seated us right on time.
The restaurant combines good cooking with good service. The only downside is that it's loud. After the theatergoers left, it was better, but conversation couldn't reach from one end of our rectangular table to the other.
Great dinner before a show. Better with a group of friends, than for a date. It was difficult to hear during conversation. Dinner and dessert were great
Deviled Eggs and Meatballs were awesome! Bologna AR was also very good! Casual atmosphere with reasonable prices but some really good food!
Reserved table for 2 prior to evening show at the Boston Opera House, and once again we were not disappointed. Burritini and Ceasar salads were delicious and appropriately apportioned. We ordered the linguini with shrimp and chicken Milanese. The waiter (Jed, I believe) was very attentive, as were other wait staff. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Teatro is the perfect restaurant for dinner before the theater. They have a great bar, and the choices of small plates or full entrées gives everyone a great choice for dinner. The food selections are somewhat eclectic, which is something I love about this restaurant. I ordered the mushroom flatbread and it was fantastic. I never order "pizza " in a nice restaurant but this was unique and perfect. Will definitely come again the next time we are in Boston.
Nice place to go in the city for Italian. The wine list is great. The food is very good and portions are reasonable, but not overwhelming. The spinach ravioli was delicious. The service was very good too.
Food comes with too much fat...
Service very quick
Maybe we just hit it at an odd time but we were not overly impressed at all. The service was exceptional, waiter was there when needed but not annoyling hovering. Great ambience and easily able to hear our table conversation. the Meatball app was outstanding and the calamari lightly breaded with tasty side dressings. The Chicken Milanese was dry and tasteless. I must not have read the menu correctly as I ordered Gnocchi with Boar which was a mniscule amount of Boar with a brown sauce, not red, it was tasty but I have had better Gnocchi. The Rollatini was tasty but a bit too much ricotta....maybe if the eggplant was rolled lenght wise it could have less Ricotta and more taste of the eggplant. A varied beer selection was nice and great cocktails, great balance between citrus and sweet with the White Grape Cosmo. Overall it was good but not what I expected after a friend's recommendation.
