We were very pleased with the experience. The staff was very friendly and focused on what time we had to be finished by to get to the theatre.
Great service & lively bar/restaurant seating, but lazy food preparation brings rating down. For example, spinach in my wife’s gnocchi was clearly frozen, and my chicken breast was smothered in buttery batter.
First time there and my wife and I were very impressed. Great service, hostess gave us a choice of 2 tables even though the place would soon be packed solid. Food was excellent, drinks and wine were perfect! A bit noisy probably due to high ceilings but it all adds to the charm. Very convenient to the theater district!
outstanding per usual; our favorite spot when we are in the city for events in the theatre district. amazing food, drink and service!
Pre theater best choice. The daily specials are well prepared and only comment is that portions are too big and their bread is delicious . We all ate too much of it.....server was attentive and water glasses always full. Cappuccino could be hotter...
This is our second visit to Teatro both times before a show at the Opera House in Boston. It's a short walk to the theater. We had an early reservation when we arrived there were only a few people. Within a short time the restaurant and bar were filled. The service and food are great. There's one little drawback and that is how close the tables are to each other. It can be difficult for the person sitting against the wall to squeeze themselves between their table and the table next to them to get in and out. As more people arrive conversations gets very loud. It is a small place and has a nice ambiance to it. Would we go back, yes, would we recommend it to others, yes.
After going to the theater we stopped to have dinner and what a pleasant surprise. The surroundings modern yet the historical part of the building coming through. The food absolutely delicious and service and attention top notch. Highly recommend
Food is excellent, service is great! I would strongly recommend this restaurant.
Loved it! Food was outstanding and great vibe. The location was easy to find.
A great option for a pre theater dinner. The menu choices are varied with something for everyone's taste
Moms bday. She loved it. Great bolognese! Great radiccio salad
My fiancé and I went to the Theater and had made a reservation at Teatro for dinner. Proximity is fantastic to all theaters! The service was absolutely exceptional. Our server, Omar, made great recommendations and was extremely attentive without being at all intrusive. The food was incredible! We started with the meatball appetizer (OMG so good!) For meals I had the shrimp scampi and he had the spicy sausage dish. Both were so very good and portions were perfect.
From start to finish everything was perfect!! We will definitely return!
Very good Italian in the theater district. Some interesting twists on classic dishes. Only negative I can think of was they seemed somewhat understaffed.
This is a perfect place to eat before a show. They’d efficient - used to dealing with the theater goers.
After theater dinner, we will definitely return on our next trip to boston.
As always... our favorite spot! We have been many many times and will go many more!!
We shared 5 different dishes and everything was delicious!
Our table was ready right at 6, despite the restaurant already being very busy. We were a party of 5 going to an 8:00pm show. The service started off a little slow but our waiter was very personable and upped his game after we ordered appetizers. The arancini and bruschetta appetizers were amazing. One companion and I shared the chicken Milanese, small bolognese, rapini and eggplant rolatini. I thought everything was great but my friend was a little disappointed with the bolognese.
Outstanding, beautifully prepared food, great service in a lovely setting. We had a great time and will definitely come back. Highly recommend!
We always go to Teatro for dinner after seeing a late afternoon or early evening movie at the theater next door. Not only is Teatro convenient (especially in a rain or snow storm), but the food, ambience, and service are all stellar. By now the 2 hosts (Ian and Sarah) know us and great us warmly, as do three of the waiters we see most often. We appreciate that the kitchen always honors our request to adjust an entrée based on food allergies. We have never had a less than delicious meal at Teatro. The wine list is also well selected with many Italian wines by the glass.
What a great find this place was! It was raining and we had attended a matinee at the theater, luckily the restaurant was just a few blocks away. The performance ended early, so we were almost an hour early for our 6pm reservation. You really wouldn’t look twice at the front of the building which has just has a small sign and blackout windows. There is a small nondescript hallway and you enter the restaurant on the right. As soon as we walked in, we were startled by how beautiful the décor was! The Host/Manager, Ian greeted us warmly and showed us to a beautiful table in the center of the main room, even though we were early.
We started off with cocktails that were very generous pours and excellently crafted. We shared a delicious Antipasto di Salumi with meat, cheese and deviled eggs before ordering our entrées. The Caesar salad was also extraordinary. We ordered Scallops with
Garnet Yam, Hen of the Woods Mushroom, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Marsala; the Lumache, a Classic Ragu Bolognese; Orecchiette, a Hand Crafted Spicy Pork Sausage, Rapini, Garlic; the Chicken Parmigiana con Linguine Aglio e Olio; and the Veal Saltimbocca, Prosciutto, Marsala Sauce, Mixed Mushroom, Creamed Spinach. It dish was delicious and beautifully plated. The waiters were very attentive and we were happy and very full by the end of the meal. Would love to go back as we really don’t have a restaurant in Hawaii to rival this magnificent meal.
Had reservations for 7:45 and got. Seated within 5 minutes. Service was good, food outstanding. For apps we shared calamari, meatballs and bruschetta, all delicious. I had the pasta bolognese, husband had chicken parm , friends had veal marsala and a personal pizza. All of us really enjoyed our fishes and the. House chianti was very goos as well. Would recommend this place.
Teatro is a perfect place for dinner before theater or dance. My only criticism is the noise level which I find too loud. The menu is awesome and I like the ability to choose options regarding size of dish.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner here. The menu has a decent variety and our dishes were quite good. We were happy that they offered 2 different sizes for many of the options. It is a bit pricey and our main dishes took quite a while to be served but we will go back here sometime.
I have eaten at Teatro several times. Each time the experience has been better than the one before. The employees are just wonderful - accommodating and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious. A very positive experience. Can’t wait to go back again.
Food was delicious, service was excellent. We really enjoyed our dinner at Teatro!
Our server Omar was excellent. And the food and vibe were wonderful!
A fine dining experience. We were very happy with everything.
Great place. Service, food, atmosphere were all 4 star. Highly recommend. Would go again!
Seated on time for our reservation. Food and service were both excellent. It's a little noisy but what restaurant isn't these days?
Delicious food, good service, pretty restaurant. Good lace to go before going to the theater. Was a bit noisy inside
Great place to eat before going to the theater. The food was delicious. Get there at 5:00 or 5:30 so you can sit and enjoy without being rushed for the 7:30 play. Our reservations were for 5:30 but we arrived early and they sat us at 5.
Excellent food & service. Great ambiance, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Make a reservation even if you plan to get there when it opens at 5:00. Teatro fills up fast with people dining before going to the theater who have figured out that it's a great place. Wonderful food and atmosphere. This was my first time and I will definitely be back.
While visiting Boston, I went to Teatro to meet an old friend for dinner. She had pork and I had pasta. Both were fine, but not memorable. For a restaurant located in the theater district and in a city that loves its Italian, I was expecting more. My pasta bolognese was bland--needed flavor. Her dinner was just fine. All in all, I would not suggest this place given the multitude of other dining options.
Great wait staff, host and ambiance! Pizzas were fabulous!
Our absolute favorite in Boston!!
Staff was very accommodating when our party size increased.
