The perfect server made it a great experience.
My wife has nut allergies and Eustacia(sp?) knew how to address and how serious cross contamination could be. She was extremely knowledgeable of menu and provided tasty recommendations from appetizers all the way to the desert grappa. Now my downtown go to for date night and events with my wife. We’ll be back soon.
Fabulous! We came up from NYC and I did a lot of research before making my choice. We loved the antipasti de verdure aside from the overly smoked carrots. I would sub those for Brussel sprouts. The half pastas we shared were delicious, as was the eggplant rollatini. Service was relaxed yet efficient and wines by the glass - we enjoyed our picks. I would absolutely go back !
The cocktails were wonderful. I had the prosciutto pizza and the crust was wonderfully thin and crispy. My husband had the oricetti sausage pasta that was flavorless. It was not a full restaurant and our service was slow.
We came for Mother's day and had a wonderful time. The service was fantastic. We did not have to wait long for any part of our meal. The drinks and appetizers as well as food and dessert were perfect. They were very friendly and we look forward to coming back soon.
This restaurant Group doesn't miss when it comes to excellence.
Wonderful dining experience at Teatro! Food was amazing, cocktails delish, and service superb! There are hundreds of dining choices in Boston but so happy we got lucky with this gem!
We only had one hour before a show and they did a great job of serving us within our time frame. The food was great, waiter was friendly we would definitely go again. The portions were definitely on the smaller side but tasty.
Teatro is the perfect spot to enjoy a delectable meal before a theatre date at the Emerson Colonial.
The food was excellent and served hot. The portions were on the smaller side for the price. Service and cocktails were very good. The restaurant could have been cooler. Location was great for the theater district.
Excellent service and food! Portions are generous and there is an interesting and varied menu. Perfect for a pre-theater dinner - we opted for 2 appetizers each instead of an entree and it was just the right amount of food. It was very noisy and tables are crowded together but it was a good atmosphere. Pricier than we anticipated but the food was delicious!
Food and service was great. A little noisy atmosphere but most restaurants are today. Will definitely return
Everything was great! Including the best Cosmo! Will be returning, have to remember to make a reservation if your attending before going to the theater!
Unmemorable food by a server who would rather have been somewhere else...
We enjoyed our visit for a birthday dinner, especially the appetizer and main courses, and are grateful for the treat if a birthday dessert. Our pasta dish was a bit of a disappointment.
It was our first time and we were celebrating as a family. Everything was great! The food was delicious, the only exception was the Ceasar Salad which felt short in the presentation and flavor. Our waiter Wilson was very attentive, and the ambiance was perfect. I would highly recommend Teatro for every occasion.
Third time here & will be back again. Food is delicious. Service is friendly & agreeable.
Food was very good. Staff was friendly. Food came out in a timely manner. Will definitely be back!
We took my mom to dinner before the theater for her birthday. Everyone enjoyed the meal a lot. However it was really noisy and we were seated right next to the kitchen hustle and bustle which was less than ideal,
Table ready right away. Service very attentive and helpful. Menu offered plenty of variety. Wine list provided great options for different food pairings. Dessert menu had a nice blend of traditional and modern Italian tastes. Food/drinks were delicious. Staff gave us nice recognition for our 10th wedding anniversary. Dinner at Teatro is a “must” whenever we are visiting Boston!
We had booked this restaurant for our 2nd anniversary and had made a note about it. As soon as we entered , the host gladly greeted us and she seemed friendly. We then sat down and waited about 15mins for a waiter to arrive. We had a side table, legs of the table were very shaky and uneven so it was very annoying. Ordered 3 rounds of drinks throughout the night. It took a pretty good chunk of time (20+mins) for ever order, even though it wasn’t that busy.
The last order of drinks, my wife found a piece of aluminum foil in her cocktail. We were both surprised as to how come the server nor the bartender noticed this. The host came to the table and offered to get another drink.
At the end when we ordered dessert, the server came by and lit a candle for us and wished us a happy anniversary.
Upon looking at the tab in the end, we were still charged for the drink that had aluminum foil in it , as well as charged for dessert. I don’t mind paying for all the charges. But like myself working in hospitality, I find it disturbing that the restaurant/host/server did absolutely NOTHING to comp at least the drink that they messed up or comp a dessert.
This is just bad service and a bad look for the restaurant. Needless to say, one of the most absurd restaurants we’ve ever been to where hospitality does not run through the staff.
Take a look at your bartender and oversee the drinks or whatnot , save yourself a lawsuit or a claim Teatro. You should be happy we didn’t make a big deal about it or create a scene.
Pleasant, sensible option for pre-show dinner. Looks grim from outside but, once inside, this is a charming space. Excellent cocktail and salads. The hanger steak special was kinda tough and over-salted. The salmon was much better. Good selection of Italian wine-by-the-glass at reasonable prices. Service is rapid and efficient - just what you want when the clock is ticking. Overall, a good experience.
Excellent service and food!!!
Teatro was a wonderful beginning to our theater evening. Our 5pm reservations gave us plenty of time to enjoy the food and drinks. Our corner seating gave us a more intimate experience. Wait staff were friendly, attentive and the food arrived in a timely fashion. Food was delicious- eggplant rotolini, calamari, sugar beat salad were delicious.
Everything was great. Expedient and appropriate service. Food excellent and ambiance very nice.
Price was reasonable too. Convenient to theatre and would definitely return.
We had an amazing dinner at Teatro. The staff were personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to Teatro. The food and service was amazing. Great atmosphere and hope to visit again in the future.
Homemade pasta is excellent! Very attentive staff, service was great!
We were early for our reservation and it was not a problem. Our waiter was awesome. Plan on going back
We ate here twice in our short stay in Boston. The food was amazing. Best Italian food ever. Staff were very welcoming - everything was perfect.
Great place to eat before the theatre. Delicious food, cocktails and service.
Food was exquisite. Wonderful pairings and everything was fresh. Service was solicitous but not over the top. Atmosphere is perfect before a night at the theatre.
We had two delicious meals before a show on Sunday. Delicious. I had a salmon dish that was very nicely prepared. Our waiter was attentive and did an excellent job. I would eat there again. I would like to see more vegetarian pasta dishes on the menu that are not dairy. Will eat there again gladly.
Dined here on Boston Marathon weekend with friends from NYC. Despite the fact that the city was hopping and the restaurant was quite crowded and noisy, we got a great table and service was very good. Probably a really good choice for dining with a group -- not so much for a couple. Entrees included pasta dishes, pizza and salmon -- all were well prepared -- portions on the pasta were small, but overall the food was worth a trip. Prices are comparable to others -- wine and cocktails were decently priced with good variety. Ambiance is good as well, but it is quite dark, so be advised. Had to use my phone light to read the menu, but definitely worth a visit.
Great meal, service and atmosphere. Great spot for dinner before or after going to the theatre. Our server(Wilson) was top shelf. We highly recommend Teatro!
Ate a late dinner here after a show at the Wilbur. Excellent service, perfectly paced food and drinks. Absolutely wonderful bread. Really just an overall great experience.
Great time before Theatre
Consistently good. A great place to go before the theatre.
As usual, a very enjoyable dining experience. We always go prior to going to the theater. They get us in and out in a timely fashion, and it is never rushed.
Outstanding food and service.
