Teatro, located in the theater district overlooking the Boston Common, offers a modern approach to classic Italian dishes. The design of Teatro is both elegant and informal. The open kitchen and high arched mosaic ceiling gives the room a theatrical presence. Teatro offers a full bar and wine list. Full menu is available at the bar.

Teatro Ratings and Reviews
Dinner for two. I had the gnocchi which was great, didn't care for the wild boar. She had the spinach ravioli which was melt in your mouth good. Service was average, server only checked back once after our drinks were empty. The place is small (some would say intimate), but we were basically sitting in top of the people next to us which made conversation challenging.
Service was quite fast - we specified we needed to be out in 1 hour and we were done within 45 minutes. Prices were appropriate for the quality. Bread was fresh and warm, gnocchi were good, ribeye was so so - not much flavor and the chocolate mousse for dessert was just alright. I would recommend Teatro for a quick decent dinner before a show, but not if the sole purpose of your night out is fine dining.
We went as a group of six friends/cousins for a get together. Those who were early grabbed drinks at the bar, and they seated us right on time.
The restaurant combines good cooking with good service. The only downside is that it's loud. After the theatergoers left, it was better, but conversation couldn't reach from one end of our rectangular table to the other.
Reserved table for 2 prior to evening show at the Boston Opera House, and once again we were not disappointed. Burritini and Ceasar salads were delicious and appropriately apportioned. We ordered the linguini with shrimp and chicken Milanese. The waiter (Jed, I believe) was very attentive, as were other wait staff. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Teatro is the perfect restaurant for dinner before the theater. They have a great bar, and the choices of small plates or full entrées gives everyone a great choice for dinner. The food selections are somewhat eclectic, which is something I love about this restaurant. I ordered the mushroom flatbread and it was fantastic. I never order "pizza " in a nice restaurant but this was unique and perfect. Will definitely come again the next time we are in Boston.
Maybe we just hit it at an odd time but we were not overly impressed at all. The service was exceptional, waiter was there when needed but not annoyling hovering. Great ambience and easily able to hear our table conversation. the Meatball app was outstanding and the calamari lightly breaded with tasty side dressings. The Chicken Milanese was dry and tasteless. I must not have read the menu correctly as I ordered Gnocchi with Boar which was a mniscule amount of Boar with a brown sauce, not red, it was tasty but I have had better Gnocchi. The Rollatini was tasty but a bit too much ricotta....maybe if the eggplant was rolled lenght wise it could have less Ricotta and more taste of the eggplant. A varied beer selection was nice and great cocktails, great balance between citrus and sweet with the White Grape Cosmo. Overall it was good but not what I expected after a friend's recommendation.
Overall it was good however the seating arrangement in the restaurant is way too tight. We were in the middle of the room and constantly felt like our table was in the way as other guests and staff walked by. Tables were on top of each other and we practically were on a double date with the table next to us due to how close they put them. I felt uncomfortable because we could hear every detail of their conversation. The waiter literally had to reach over me just to give them their food and drinks etc. The table seating wasn’t not ideal.
The Eggplant rollatini is delicious but came with really charred bread which was gross to me. But the regular bread with dipping sauce was delicious so I used that with the eggplant. Also calamari was good. My boyfriend loved his Wild boar gnocchi and garlic spinach as well. Didn't have time for dessert. I wish they had more vegetarian options, such as those still listed online. Very friendly host and waiter helped us make our show on time.
I always enjoy Teatro. Even when it is crowded with the pre-theater crowd, the food never disappoints. This particular night it was unusually quiet because of bad weather, so it was even better. The service was excellent, as usual. My dinner guest was almost a no-show because of the weather, and the server was understanding and made sure I wasn't neglected. It's a great place for a meal.
Wnet here for my mom’s bday dinner before a show and it was a great time. He service was great and the food was delicious! My sister was late to dinner so we ordered a meal for her and they made sure to time everything right so that when she arrived it was hot and delicious!
