My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience. The mini sandwiches, warm tasty scones and delightful desserts made our tastebuds dance. The entire experience was so elegant. The Tea Lounge lived up to our expectations in every way imaginable. We cannot wait to enjoy afternoon tea again!
When reading this review, one has to keep in mind that this is an afternoon tea at the Waldorf Astoria (WA) and WA is widely considered at similar level as the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz Carlton etc. Also keep in mind that it was only 6 months ago when WA took over this hotel from Mandarin Oriental (MO), so the decor has been inherited from MO. Having said the above, the overall quality of this afternoon tea was not great. We spoke to some of the staff and were surprised that they previously worked for MO and have been retained. While they were friendly and approachable, they lacked the poise and composure, and their attention to detail was definitely not on par with what one would normally associate with prestigious hotels such as WA, MO, Four Season, Savoy etc. Both the quality and quantity of the food were below standard too, and so was the presentation of the food. We were served tea which was lukewarm and were only offered to refill the tea pot after 90 minutes. The waitress poured the last bit of cold tea from the tea pot into our cups before she took it away for refill - this was sloppy. All things considered, this was by no means a 'bad' afternoon tea but one you would expect at a 3 stars hotel - definitely not a 5-star hotel such as Waldorf Astoria. When compared against similar level of hotels such as MO, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, the Savoy (London) or St Regis, this afternoon tea needs to do a lot more from the top down.
My daughter loved it and will make a birthday tradition!
We went for my grandma's 75th birthday!! An it was truly a awesome experience. The ambiance was beautiful. An our waitress was amazing and explained everything to us and what all our food was. Absolutely look forward to making another trip here ❤
The only reason why I gave service a 4 star rating is because our tea pots got cold. Our server Betzy was great just maybe busy and didn't get to check the pots towards the end.
Very relaxing. Not the place to bring small children or children who can only be entertained with electronics.
What a lovely time! We had the best seat in the house.
Love, love this experience. Tea is brewed wonderfully, food is great, and the atmosphere and view is fantastic. Highly recommend.
Tea was GOOD. Marshmellow was good!! They surprised me with writing happy birthday on a plate in sparkly lettering!! I found this place cause my friend posted it on her insta story!! I highly recommend the taste of everything. There were a lot of different tastes in one bite which I really appreciated. The chocolate was very rich, so it went well with the tea and I had to save it for later because of the intenseness, another experience which I highly appreciated, good chocolate gives that sort of show and tell! The view outside was lovely. I have never seen anyone wrap a cucumber sandwich in a cucumber, that itself was a delightful surprise. Thank you again!
The tea sandwiches were either too crusty or soggy—they tasted like they’d been prepared days before and refrigerated. The server was hardly present and never came to refresh the water or ask if we needed anything else. The desserts were mediocre at best. During our tea service a couple sat next to us and the gentleman repeatedly blew his nose, and both were blatantly under the influence of something. Honestly, the only thing this place has going for it is the view. If someone has never had a traditional English tea they may find this acceptable, but having had a proper tea, this was an absolute joke. This was not a good experience and we will not be returning.
If you're looking for a unique experience, away from the "noise" of the city, this is the place. High Tea was exceptional in all as[ects - the ambience, food and service were all exceptional. Classic tea sandwiches, scones and dessert were excellent. The choice of teas is large. The service, which includes explanations of the teas and the foods, is outstanding. An experence not to be missed when in Vegas.
Normally we have a wonderful tea experience but this time a few items were a disappointment.
As I made my reservation I included in the notes my allergies so that the kitchen staff would know in advance making our experience and the waiters experience easier.
That was not done and we had to wait over 10 minutes for part of a plate of sandwiches.
We ordered champagne to start and the tea came with it and poured before we could ask the waitress to wait to pour. We feel that after paying $18.00 a piece for champagne we should be given time to enjoy.
The tea became cold. Also this time the tea was not hot and became cool before we finished the pot. We also had to wait several minutes for the cream to arrive.
This experience made us feel rushed and as if the food/ tea wasn’t prepared properly.
On another note it seems as if they have changed furniture and placement so the waitress kept bumping into my chair, and after she apologized I decided to put my purse on the floor thinking it may help but it didn’t.
We will return however if the service/food isn’t any better next time we won’t return.
Everyone can have an off day.
What a lovely experience. It was a lovely time for some girl talk. The service was fantastic, the food was good.
The ambiance was calming and relaxing. We had a table by the window so we were treated to the fabulous view of the Las Vegas strip. The overall experience was wonderful!
Delicious and very fun. Definitely an indulgent experience to have with friends or as a mother daughter treat.
The scones are warm and flaky, the sandwiches are super yummy. The desserts are great but honestly by the time you get to them, you’re ready to be done eating for the next year. I do wish that you could split the tea into two, and just pay a small fee. We ended up wasting most of the dessert just because we couldn’t eat anything else without exploding.
Relaxing and delicious
Great view and excellent service
The Tea Lounge is one of our favorite things to do in Vegas. Fabulous view of the strip looking East. The tea sandwiches scones dessert and teas are done to perfection.
Truly a one of a kind experience, unlike anything you’ll find on the strip.
Food was ok, wouldn't rush back, service was lovely. Unfortunately we were sat near a very loud opinionated old lady. Kinda spoilt the ambience
We had a fantastic time. The staff is professional and attentive through the whole process. Not our first time and not our last.
Wonderful experience. Exceptional service. Afternoon tea.
Overpriced - your only allowed to select 1
type of tea. The food was very mediocre. Only plus the view outside. The furniture quite old and shows it.
Good view, service and food
When this lounge was run by another well known hotel brand it was brilliant and the view excellent. The food and drinks are now standard Hilton affair that you can get anywhere. The afternoon tea did not taste nice and it was overpriced at $65. Nasty sandwiches that are never served in a traditional tea in the UK is what we were met with. A little bit embarrassing to eat a salty egg paste stuffed into a choux bun and a chicken curry sandwich?! The afternoon tea in Green Park Hilton London is a million times better and served with actual fresh tea leaves. My advice.... Avoid Waldorf Astoria and experience the real deal elsewhere.
Dear PagongEwok, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are fortunate to still have the same team after the hotel was rebranded and offer Afternoon Tea at $54. I assure you that we brew a variety of fresh tea leaves here at the Tea Lounge. I would love the opportunity to review what you were charged to ensure you paid the correct price and follow up on your overall experience as it sounds less than extraordinary. I also sent a direct message. Warm Regards, Mina
Tea Lounge offers a wonderful view of the strip and since we had a 4:15 seating we got to see daylight change to evening. Large pot of tea per person. Wonderful tea menu. Best of all no one rushed us so we enjoy our tea and view in peace. Would come again.
Beautiful peaceful lounge overlooking the strip. Delicious sandwiches, scrumptious scones with clotted cream, lemon curd and preserves. Desserts were beautiful but we could hardly eat them since we were so full! Lovely teatime and a welcome respite from the busy-ness of the strip.
The freshness and quality of certain items were questionable. The service however was amazing.
It started off well with a immediate seating by hostess... My husband and I have enjoyed Tea here before and it is always exceptional. My only complaint is that I don’t care for marshmallows or meringue and there were 2 of the 4 desserts made with both! That aside everything and everyone is above reproach. They do their job exceptionally well and the tea varieties they serve are different for every season. They ask if there are any dietary restrictions or concerns and they accommodate children on the same scale as adults. It is a very relaxed atmosphere- view is great from the 23rd floor. Comfortable and always perfectly regulated temperature wise. I give them 5 stars. Noise level downgrade was because of a rowdy group for a Birthday. Otherwise usually lower tone and conversational voice is all that is heard! My husband loves to go to Tea there and we will be back.
wonderful experience, every time. get the tea service, sit back and enjoy a relaxing meal.
Tea with a view
Wonderful experience! Great service! Always enjoy coming for our yearly tradition of Valentine’s Day afternoon tea! Pleasantly surprised with our server gifting me a rose this time! Definitely a must if you’re a tea lover!
Afternoon Tea at the Waldorf is a treat I give myself each time I'm in Las Vegas. This the 3rd time in 3 months I have spoiled myself as such. For 90 minutes it's a nice respite between lunch and dinner in a pleasant oasis with an incredible view. If I have one complaint it would be the carryover of the "thumping" music from SkyBar next door; certainly SkyBar could reduce the volume, or at least the bass, so that those of us in the Tea Lounge could enjoy a bit more peace. (It's been my experience that SkyBar is rarely busy or full during the afternoon hours. The sounds from the lobby immediately next door seem to be muted.) I may have had a new(er) server as service was just a bit "off" this time; I had to wait far too long for my teapot to be refilled with hot tea. That, however, in the grand scheme of things, is minor. I left the Waldorf just as happy as I did after my previous 2 visits and I look forward to my next.
I am typically very difficult to please. A friend told me that the Waldorf Astoria afternoon tea wasn’t up to British afternoon tea standards, and as a Brit living in Vegas I was not expecting great things. I can honestly say that this was a fantastic experience. We had seats right by the window, endless Mimosa, and a delightful tea on fabulous China. This was well worth the money and I would recommend to anybody
My mom and I had a fabulous time enjoying exquisite tea and delicious pastries. Our server went above and beyond to make us feel special and turn it into a unforgettable memory. The service was outstanding and the view breathtaking. I will recommend the afternoon tea experience as well as the great staff.
The tea was the one good thing about this place. The food, service, ambiance, etc was extremely generic for the price.
Food tasted better when it was Mandarin Oriental and price was also increased about $10 more per tea service
Very nice service and ambiance, but chairs were very uncomfortable.
My husband and I had a great time for their afternoon tea. Seating was quick, service was great. View was nice, desserts were very well done & scones were amazing! Sandwiches were okay.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my wife the day. Top-notch service.
Amazing experience. We enjoyed sitting next to the window and watching the strip light up as the sun set. Food was amazing as always. Very relaxing.
