   Overall very good service and food. The portion size is massive so make sure you come prepared. The spaces is quite tight which gives a cozy cottage feel. Be mindful if you are not a small person.

   I love Tea & Sympathy! Every time I go it never disappoints! Their sticky toffee pudding with custard is my absolute favorite! Booking through Open Table was easy and they had the table waiting when we arrived around 5:50pm for a 6pm reservation.

   We enjoyed dining as a family at Tea and Sympathy. It was a good experience.

   Always a treat to have tea here. One of my favorite places to visit in Manhattan.

   Very quirky. Excellent tea—scones are decent and cakes are fabulous. Sandwiches good too if a bit bready. Very tiny and there is absolutely no room to breathe— and it gets very crowded. We were there in a Thursday afternoon and by 3 PM, it was packed.

   We had a reservation for 3. I arrived 15 minutes early. There were 4 people there and the remaining at least 7 tables (very very very small place) were EMPTY. It was cold the night we went. I was told to wait next door. I chose to wait outside. My friend arrived on time. She is 82. We were not permitted to be seated unless/until we all arrived. STILL THE PLACE WAS NOT FULL. Our third texted he would be late. We were still not permitted to sit, despite plenty of room. We were told to give up our reservation or wait. We were told if this rule was violated the waitress would be fired. I will NEVER EVER go there again. We were told reviews don't matter since they've been there for 27 years. We'll see about that.

   Whenever my friends visit me in the city, we always go to Tea and Sympathy, are always treated well and never go away unsatisfied. Well recommended.

   Considering that Tea & Sympathy is a *very small* and *authentic British* tea time/casual restaurant - even though it's small, cramped, has a high turn-over so you can't spend much time relaxing in there, and is pricey for the tea-time set - it's worth it because the food is very yummy and the ambience, owners, and workers are straight from England.

    Very rude service. Customers were rushed out because of the next reservation. Service was really bad, such as taking plates sways without asking. We will not come back again.
