For as busy as it is, service was incredible. Food is always good. The octopus special was on the cusp of being overdone, nearly tough to chew, but just steered clear of that. Oysters and the main dishes great as always. You really want a seafood place that is busy - worst thing is having seafood sitting for days - and Mermaid Inn is packed and doesn’t disappoint.

I love this place. The happy hour foods are well priced and mostly tasty. I didn't love the Tuna Crudo but not sure why. The shrimp cocktail had to be sent back as the shrimps were about 1 day too old. The linguini was good. Overall good meal- not outstanding. The little neck clams were good Lots of dogs at the outside tables which was great! Service was really good considering how busy they were!

We made a reservation for 2:30pm. At 2:35 they said it was last call for food and drinks and we hadn’t even looked at the menu. If you close at 2:30 then don’t take a reservation at 2:30. We didn’t know. They rushed the food. Put the entrees out before the appetizers. I mean the burger came out before the oysters. What the actual?! Never again

All was great except: $10 for bread. Been a mermaid customer for years. They used to provide a free pot de crème at the end of dinner. Now that’s gone and you have to pay for bread. What happened? Doesn’t give a great feeling at the end.

Unfortunately the expensive lobster roll was fishy. The fries and the oysters were excellent. The pudding is delicious but shame on the restaurant for putting too much whipped cream. Sneaky.

Fries tasted like they were cooked in old fryer oil and the burger was over cooked

I love the mermaid inn. The food is great and good value for the prices. The atmosphere is fantastic and the drinks are 10/10. I join at least once a week lol
