Amazing food. Be prepared for a higher price. But the drinks are amazing and the seafood is high quality.
If you are a oyster lover, this place would be a perfect place to visit. But there was not too many other food choices on the menu.
Oysters, clams and mussels were exceptionally fresh and tasty. The chowder was excellent.
Excellent quality of seafood. A bit too expensive.
The oysters were decent. They were on the smaller side. However, we did go on a Sunday when they told us that it was the only day of the week that they didn't get a shipment of oysters. So the shuckers dozen was slim. I tried the sea urchin they called in "uni" I don't know if that is that what it's real name is or not. It just wasn't my cup of tea, but I understand how it would "tickle someone's fancy". overall good experience. Wish that they were closer to the Puyallup area!!
Awesome fresh varieties of oysters!
Amazing oysters, perfect wine suggestion from our server. Still felt a bit expensive in the end for all that we got.
Food was fantastic! The seating area was a little too tight for my comfort but the food was worth it.
Took a friend from out of state. Not a lot of food options beyond oysters, so we only stayed for oysters and a quick drink. Service was good! Oysters were awesome, good selection!
We had the Crab and Brussels sprouts and they were delicious. I do feel that something should be offered as a side for the price. I will definitely recommend the restaurant to friends and I look forward to coming back!
Delicious salt and pepper shrimp, small plate but six plump ones! Very tasty. Great for a light lunch.
Great location, easy to access. But Extremely limited menu. Would not return again.
VERY PRICEY. Weak happy hour. It was totally empty, which indicated that their happy hour is lousy. Next door at Japonessa there was a wait because their happy hour is awesome. Very small happy hour menu at Taylors and food was just average. My $10 side salad was bibb lettuce with some hazelnuts and dressing. Might be worth $4 at most. I actually felt sick to my stomach all night too, so I won't be going to a Taylors again.
My friends 60th Birthday! The food and service was exceptional. However I found out after I left a 30% gratuity, that an 18% gratituity is tacked on to the check. Nowhere did I see a post regarding that and it was mentioned.
WONDERFUL as always food and service wass GREAT!!!
The waiter was very gracious, good recommendations. They had 6 different types of oysters on the menu. I had 1 of each; yummy!
Thumbs up to the food, drinks, & service!
From reading mainly good yelp reviews and yelp pics we decided to give Taylor Shellfish a try:
-The seafood we ordered was very fresh, however we were quite disappointed in how small the fried oysters we received, especially compared in seeing how big they were in yelp pictures.
-About welcoming guests, smiling to them would be a big plus, overall we didn't feel very welcomed
-On a happy and funny note, on leaving the restaurant we took a pic in front of it, and one of the staff did a photobomb, it was hilarious!
Food was delicious and flavorful. Service left a lot to be desired however. It took about 15 minutes from seating until a server showed up, in which time we considered walking out. Our server was friendly and competent but totally overworked!
My family and I came here for the oysters and weren’t disappointed. We also ordered crab and absolutely loved the delicious creamy sauce it was served in.
The waitress was very knowledgeable and excellent with our kids, even though it wasn’t really a kid-appropriate restaurant.
Not much of ambience. Totally understaffed. Served really tried her best but overall service sucked and since it is included in bill it really has to be worth the 19% added. The oysters were fresh and tasty, but a little too many pieces of shells in them. The shrimp ok, crab cakes bland and pasta not great at all. The large dishes were not large at all so quite misleading description. Overall not the best experience for someone who loves seafood.
Best selection of fresh oysters and clams. Note service fee / gratuity included. They need to off saccharin for those that can’t have sugar.
Noisy place! Food was good but menu choices were limited for this area.
The food was very good and very pricy, but we felt the quality matched the prices. The ambiance is ok. It didn’t seem to match the prices as it seems very casual.
Like many others have said very pricey, lunch for 4 $300 and the portions were smaller, but the food was great . one other small thing is no coffee of any kind, disappointing.
Fried oysters over breaded, prawns over cooked and so over seasoned they were nearly inedible. Overall low quality meal.
The food was pretty good, but not to the level of the prices. We don't mind spending a buck or two for something special - Daniel's Broiler for a birthday, for example - but this just didn't rate in that category. Admittedly, rent in Lincoln Square in Bellevue must be sky high, so that goes into it. But - a little better than ho hum.
So disappointed in Bellevue location. We arrived mid afternoon on a Sunday, maybe 5 others in the restaurant. Ordered the raw oyster selection and a bowl of mixed steamed mussels and clams.
They were out of the small delicious oysters we craved, and felt that $3/oyster was expensive for the selection we received.
The bowl of mussels and clams looked like it had been sitting for awhile, the edges of the mussels were dry and the clams meat was just sitting in the bottom of the bowl, none attached to their shells, again looking old. As well, we had to ask for bread to sop up the small amount of juice in the bowl, who has to ask for bread with steamed clams?
Fantastic oysters and crab. Terrible salad and service. Enjoyed the Bow location much more.
A good causal place for gathering with friends or enjoy a relaxing dinner
Best oysters in Seattle by far. Our staff was knowledgeable about each kind, where they came from and the different ways they raise them according to variety and region. Fried prawns were great. Will be back.
Service was outstanding and the food very delicious
Service was good, friendly, very accommodating, well versed. We had a long lunchwon there, our server Katrina was very patience, she even warm our bread. Katrina was attentive to recommend the right kind of oysters for both of us esp, for my Birthday guest. Follow by steamed clams and even recommended the spot prawn homemade pasta down to a light glass of wine to accompanied our meal.
The only drawback was we wish they had desserts and coffee to end our scrumptious birthday luncheon.
Yes we will be back more luncheons to plan ahead, and the best thing is we didn’t have to drive all the way to the city for Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar. Content ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪
The oysters was wonderful, the recommendations from the server were spot on, and we had a relatively quiet table (which was good since we had a lively discussion in progress). All the seafood was fresh and the food and wine pairings were yummy!
One word: terrible. First, my wife wanted a red wine. We were told that the restaurant owner or chef does not want to serve red as it is not compatible with their food!! Food?? My crab cakes were dry, full of filler with very little crab. My wife had the “special” pasta with spot prawns. The taste was odd and we found no prawns!!!
Will never return.
We have been waiting for this location to open with much anticipation. When it opened we have been consistently brining our friends and family here. The oysters are always fresh and the best! Try fried oysters, the ratio of breading to oyster and the meticulously clean fryer are the secret here and they are delicious. The scallop crudo is my candy, it's fresh, unadulterated, sweet, raw goodness. Latest addition is crispy pork belly and it's a win in my book. Perfectly rendered fat flash seared for crispy finish. My husband ordered black cod and it was perfectly season and perfectly cooked with the crispy skin on top. The potatoes were whipped, fatty, salty and overall very satisfying while the fish was moist and flaky.
There is a full bar and great service!
Lunch date with my daughter - we both love oysters so it's become our 'go-to' spot for a Saturday or Sunday lunch together. Staff have always been awesome!
Great food and amazingly fast and friendly service.
Never seat a whiny kid next to already seated adults. The kid nearly ruined the experience. Oysters excellent
