The staff is great here! Our bartender was amazing. The ambiance is lovely and we enjoyed sitting at the bar which was sectioned off and felt very safe. Unfortunately the food is simply not good. We ordered the Salumeria Board to start and it's just lunch meat on a plate. I ordered the Penne "Cardinale" which had no flavor and the chicken was dry. My husband ordered the Prosciutto Wrapped Cod which was a piece of cod with a tiny piece of prosciutto sitting in a pool of chowder. I did have the key lime pie which was delicious.
I always have something positive to say about a restaurant experience but this one was tough. I feel like we wasted a lot of money and left unsatisfied. There are a lot of choices when eating out and we won't be returning here.
The server was outstanding. The food was fair, but not really a good value for the price paid. The only redeeming quality was that staying at the Radisson gave a 20% discount to the price. I don't think I will go back.
Horrible service. Horrible good.
Everything was great. Food delicious. Great service. The only reason I gave a 4 us because it is a little dark to read the menu. I am old. Lol
Our first time at this restaurant, just happened to be at the end of a minor snow storm. We were seated right away, a little concerned that the place was pretty empty. The waiter was friendly and attentive throughout the evening, no issues as mentioned in other reviews. We ordered some oysters and the meatballs for the appetizer, both were very good. For entrees, We had the swordfish special and braised pork tenderloin. Both meals were warm and delicious. We didn’t have dessert, no room. Overall it was a nice meal with a good variety on the menu. The food is a little pricey but we knew it would be ahead of time. I would say that Tavolo is on the higher end of the restaurant experience, the place is really beautiful. We will try this place again since we live nearby. kind of sad to see that it was so slow on a Friday evening, the weather had to be a factor.
I bought a 1/2 off gift certificate on Sweet Deals, $25 for a $50 value. We decided to use it on my Birthday. The closest Tavalo to us is in Smithfield, but after reading the fine print of the certificate, I realized it was only valid at their Warwick location. Fine, no big deal, I changed the reservation no issue. Being a Thursday & snowing, I wasn't sure if the emptiness of the restaurant was typical of the current Pandemic climate, the weather, the day of the week, all three?
The service was EXCELLENT, bar none! Wine- phenomenal. Dessert- to die for! Bread- unfortunately cold but still very tasty with their spicy dipping oil... yum! The entrees were just ok. For the price of the plates I was not impressed. I had the braised short rib and my meat tasted re-heated and was not sauced enough, but again, it was a Thursday- probably not the best night to go to a restaurant and expect quality freshness so I didn't complain. Also, my boyfriend ordered a bottle of bud light which tasted skunked to him. Either it had been there a while because nobody orders that in an Italian Wine bar, or because there was a refrigeration problem at one point and they should probably toss it all. I encouraged him to say something but he didn't... two peas in a pod we are!
I would go there again for wine & apps,or maybe dessert, but to me the entrees were just not worth it. Above and beyond the $50, we laid down an extra $60+ with tip to cover the price of the bill. I had fun on my birthday, and it was an experience I won't forget but never again am I paying that for a sub-par meal.
Beautiful atmosphere. We had fun choosing our wine flights and pairing them with great lunch choices. My only complaint is it was cold in the restaurant.
Food was great, waitress was ok and the establishment was colder than any restaurant I’ve been to this year
We were sat 15 minutes late for our reservation. We then sat at our table for 20 minutes prior to being waited on only because we flagged down the hostess. Our waiter came over and apologized that he was having a conversation with someone else. Not once through the night were we asked how the meal was. My wife’s Margherita did not have salt on the rim and she was blamed by the server for not asking even though the description has salt in it
Calamari was tender and cooked perfectly. Our dinners were very good and portions were more than enough. Our server was streched out a little thin due to short staffing. He seemed not as attentive to us as some of the other tables near us he was responsible for. We will be back and can't wait to be able to sit outdoors and enjoy dinner.
This was our first time dining at Tavalo. Definitely will return!!! Food was superb, our waiter Dan was fantastic, and overall one of my best dining experiences!!!
Service was very slow. Waiter barely came to our table. Ordered refills on drinks and totally forgot and asked again.
Overall we have had bad experiences on Valentines weekend. Tavolo was different. We had a 530 reservation and we were promptly seated when we came in. It took a bit for the server to acknowledge us but he was busy. After he did, service was good, food was great, drinks were good. Definitely be back
We’ve been to Tavolo before and it never disappoints. The food, wine and service are always top notch.
Reservations made were easy. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Definitely will be back.
What wonderful food, my wife had samon, which she loves with edanamie, I had the special, halibut on wonderful risotto.
We began with a coktail, and clamp in a great red sauce. Dunking the toasted garlic bread
Was a treat.
Also we went early and very safe.
We can't wait to do it again.
Hidden gem...
The Monday night special is a great deal and the food is delicious!!
We come here often and the food is always delicious. Saturday night the food was average and our waiter was awful!! Zero personality and borderline miserable. Thank goodness for the runners as we were able to get bread, butter and then salt and pepper. We were going to have an after dinner drink but our waiter instead of asking us if we wanted anything else, decided to just take the check over. I said well we were going to have a drink but apparently we are not. At that point we paid our bill and went somewhere else for a drink. Not sure I will go back due to not ever wanting that waiter again.
Perfect night! The waiter was amazing and the food deliciousness! Bellini martini had me typsy with just two sips!
Calimari although fresh, was undercooked. The Calimari were lumped in bunches due to the amount of batter used. I had the Veal Parm, overcooked, almost to the point of being burned. The tomato sauce on my Ziti had very little flavor, other than garlic. Disappointed overall, but with all the restrictions regarding dining at this time, maybe I just caught them on a tough night. The noise level was not an issue until the end of dinner, when a female patron at the next table wanted to argue with anyone, whether it was Brady or Belicheck that made the Patriots a dynasty. Obviously, not the restaurants fault..
Yup...was that kind of night.
The food is always really great here when I come! We went for restaurant week and the choices were awesome and very delicious! The service really wasn’t great, our waiter seemed bothered by us and like he wasn’t happy to be there at all!
Our dining at Tavolo Wine Bar exceeded our expectations. The service was on point. We ordered the 3 course meal. Which included a bottle of wine. The calamari was tender and cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the beet salad. The steak frites and braised short rib did not disappoint, steak was cooked to my liking and short rib was fork tender. We will be back!
Filet mignon was cooked to perfection. Salmon was delicious.
Everything was fantastic
This was our first time trying Tavolo. We went early on a Friday (to avoid crowds) for Restaurant Week. The restaurant was freezing when we arrived. I wore my winter coat throughout the entire meal. The waiter said he was going to get the heat turned up, but it never really got comfortable.
The menu assortment for Restaurant Week was great. The Tomato/Mozzarella salad was good. We could tell it was frozen calamari, not fresh. The Halibut (which I was excited about) was pan-seared which created a tough crust that was unappealing. The Short Ribs had a lot of silver skin and not as tender as I would have liked. The tiramisu and wine were fantastic.
Our waiter was great, but overall I was not impressed and probably would not go back. There are so many good restaurants in RI, why go to one that is middle of the road.
Inviting and warm, awesome service and food!! Went for restaurant week special and will definitely go back!!
The food was excellent. We went for restaurant week and the value was great. Drinks were worth the money. The only complaint is that it was a little chilly.
Food is always amazing as well as the service. I write the same review repeatedly. Please stay in Warwick!
We needed to change our party’s number of people , my husband called and who ever spoke to him when he called to explain, gave him attitude and was unprofessional.. we almost cancelled, Our table service and food were good.
They gave us a great booth. The only downside was it was near large windows and a bit cold. We were fine with keeping our coats on over our shoulders.
Love the staff and food! Despite these times, dining here is a very enjoyable experience as the staff is upbeat and is focused on the future!
The waitstaff was awesome. The appetizers were good but the entrees were so so.
Quality of the food was not on par with the price.
The service was excellent and the quantity and quality of the food makes this a truly memorable experience. Between the three of us we enjoyed the Ossining Bucco, the flank steak, and the tenderloin — I would order all of them again. Delicious appetizers include the Calamari and the delicious meatball.
Food was fabulous! Although what I had my hope on they didn't have I still was satisfied.
Tavolo in Warwick was above expectations - four of us for dinner and drinks - the server Kasia could not have been more attentive - food and drinks were excellent. Would definitely recommend and will be back for sure. The current Special with 3 course dinner $29 and bottle of wine with every 2 dinner specials was great ❤️
The room when you enter is lovely but we were put in the back which I felt was overcrowded especially since we had to wait an hour for our meal . The food was mediocre but the bottle of wine included for restaurant week made it a reasonably priced evening.
Went for restaurant week, the menu included many options. Everything, from the appetizers to dessert was delicious and our server was kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend
We loved bartender Dave!
Great food and wonderful service!
Great dinner and excellent service from our favorite waiter Ryan.
