The food and wine is always great at Tavolo!
Waiter was rude and rushing. Meals came out wrong. Water and drinks were asked to be filled several times, never happened. One meal was forgotten and the manager came over and gave it to one guest when ever was done eating. Stay far away! Manager and Waiter rude.
My husband 50 th bday
One of the worst dinning experiences in my life. I’ve been to multiple restaurants and have never been disrespected like I was at this place. The service was slow granted the short staff, but our waiter was late and not welcoming. Upon leaving with leaving a tip rewarding of the service, the server came out and verbally abused me and my peers for not leaving a bigger tip on the tab. He started to cause a scene on the street and when I asked for the manager he stated to be the manager while yelling at me. As I asked the valet for the owner of the restaurant ñame the same waiter continued to verbally attack me and raise his voice. He brought out my gfs purse that she accidentally left and yelled, “ I could of just thrown this in the valley!” as I kept repeating for him to leave me alone. Never will I recommend this restaurant or ever go again. I never do a review but felt this had to be let known to the public.
We went during Providence Restaurant Week and that was probably our first mistake. We showed up and our reservation through Open Table didn't show up, but they seated us in 15 minutes anyway. We waited about 10 minutes before the waitress came over and took our orders. The drinks took about 30 minutes to arrive, the appetizers took about 1 hr and 15 minutes to arrive. At one point, the waitress looked over at us and made a face like she forgot to put in our orders. We had to ask the manager for bread while we waited for entrees. The entrees took another 45 minutes. By this time, we were fed up and asked for our desserts to go and while waiting, saw another table who was seated at least 20 minutes after us get the same desserts. Overall, the food was very lackluster. The bolognese and short rib had no flavor. However, the ice cream was very good. While we understand that restaurants in general are short staffed, it was a generally awful experience. Definitely would not return.
We had a wonderful evening at Tavolo. Bill was a wonderful host to the space and made sure everything was good with our meals, and he even offered an umbrella to shield us from the rain. Extremely grateful for the thoughtfulness and well-timed check-ins from our server.
I don’t know what happens to this location when it’s restaurant week but their quality and service goes way down. I ordered a 9oz glass of wine and the waitress Jo brought me a 6oz and proceeded to argue with me after I told her that it wasn’t a 9oz. She brought my fiancé a 9oz and it was an obvious difference. The restaurant itself was so hot that we couldn’t breathe. They had the doors open for fresh air and breeze but it was extremely hot regardless. The food was ok. My steak was dry and my side pasta that it came with was old. At that point I didn’t even bother sending it back. Who knows what I would get back. I won’t be coming back to this location. It was super disappointing and I really just wanted to enjoy my anniversary dinner. The locations in Warwick and Smithfield are much better.
Atmosphere and service was great. The food itself was not so good. It had minimal flavor and the meats were costly and dry. Certainly not what we would expect from Italian food on Atwells Ave. This place just doesn’t measure up to the competition there.
Everyone was so personable and accommodating. I would definitely go there again.
It was quite warm in there and service was a little slower and less attentive then expected however do know the service industry is struggling with help. Thank goodness assume owner helped out.
Food and deal was very good, would go back we usually go to the Lincoln property however providence week brought us to your restaurant.
We went for our anniversary and was anticipating a good time. We both had the he restaurant week specials. The waitress seemed annoyed and disappeared after serving the appetizers. I was hoping to order a glass of wine to have with the appetizer. The meal was adequate, the drinks were good however service was minimal. As stated earlier I wanted to celebrate our anniversary but the lack of service and the food being just okay definitely but a damper Ian the evening. On a positive note, the singer was fantastic.
From the time we walked in, to the time we left, everything was fantastic
So good! Food was good and wine flight was great
We had not been back to Tavolo for several years so going back this time was a treat. We regularly dine at the Smithfield location but we wanted to go "to The Hill". The decision was a great one. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I believe they will make it a point to visit again
Tavolo, be bold, season your steaks and your salmon. Your tomato bisque and Caeser salad were bland, too. Good service, but that doesn't make up for limiting flavors.
Very good meal. Cavatelli was a little too al dente, but very tasty. Good risotto ball and fried calamari. Service could've been a little more attentive, but was very friendly and nice.
I was just at Tavolo on Saturday night. We sat outside and it was beautiful. Someone in our party ordered a burger, which was on the menu. About 20 minutes later they informed us they do not actually have a burger, even though it was on the menu. When we went to pay the bill the burger we never got was on our tab. We ordered calamari for an app. We scooped some out and there was a huge hair wrapped up in all the calamari. We did not eat it, they did take it off the bill. We also ordered an Italian grinder pizza. Before the server brought it out he came running up to us to let us know he does not have an Italian grinder, but only an Italian pizza. The server was not knowledgeable about any menu items. I had asked a few questions about the menu and he just kept saying " I don't know, I'm new". Overall, we did not have a good experience and will not be back.
It was a good restaurant. We are on the back patio. It was nice.
Food, service and atmosphere was great!! Would go back to any of the location.
We were seated & ignored by wait staff for 35 min. They literally just brought us water & nothing else. When we finally hunted down our waitress, she was incredibly rude & dismissive to us, cut us off & said “I don’t even know what table you’re at so like I’ll get to you when I get to you” so we left. 0/10 would not recommend.
Waitress was good but they were very under staffed, leading to long waits My gnocchi was plentiful and tasty how ever my husband order a seafood dish over pasta that said it was in a spicy sauce. It was extremely bland. We waited 20 minutes for our check, I finally had to go up to the bar and get it myself. It was okay but not worth the trip back.
Owner very personable from the time you enter premises. Came to tables during meal. We sat in back patio. Great ambience, but out front also nice. Good quantity of food . Rice balls delicious and moist.
We are outside on the street for al fresco on the hill, and it was great! The staff was cheerful and helpful, offering suggestions and wine pairings. The price was higher than moderate, but not at all unreasonable for the food and ambiance. The food was outstanding!! We will definitely be returning!!
Always a pleasure!
Very nice restaurant! Food was great, service excellent!
Everything was wonderful.
Love Tavolo! Great value....food outstanding....nice wine list! Our waiter, Ryan, was excellent and the Bill, the manager, was very accommodating! Can’t wait to go back!
food was excellent. waitress was sweet, personable and very attentive in spite of covering the entire place by herself. Sitting in the courtyard outside was fantastic. beautiful night with great friends and food, highly recommend.
Always think the food is going to be better than it is. Everything just lacks a little flavor and is bland.
The veal was super tough and difficult to cut with a steak knife. I did not enjoy my meal at all. The appetizers were luke warm but ok. The chocolate cake was excellent.
I would give this restaurant a 5 star but, gave a 4 due to the atmosphere on the back patio. We sat abutting the storage of heat lamps, extra tables, and other outside storage items. I felt like I was sitting in a storage closet. Everything else was very good! We had the swordfish and spinach ravioli. Service couldn't have been better. I would recommend this restaurant for inside dining or outside dining in front to offer a better atmosphere.
The food was good but the service was lackluster. Caprese salad was without basil, the requested substitution was forgotten, and steak knives weren't brought until requested. The patio was lovely.
The food and service were VERY good. The ambiance was lacking since Taboldar has yet to improve its patio with plants flowers or other decor.
This was my first time visiting Atwells Avenue in Federal Hill... and although the neighborhood wasn't what I expected, Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grill was wonderful! The staff were so attentive and friendly. We opted to sit outdoors because of the nice weather and the courtyard was adorable and quiet from all the very loud street noise. Definitely a plus! The Burrata filled ravioli with Bolognese sauce was to die for! Thank you for a memorable dinner.
Don’t let them sit you near the door that leads to their outdoor patio. There’s constant traffic in snd out by patrons and Staff. It’s also right near the restrooms. The food is excellent and the wait staff is attentive!
Great food and uplift atmosphere!! Loved the specials and awesome wine list! For sure returning!
Employees were relatively lax about mask-wearing around the table and host stand, which was somewhat uncomfortable. Food was generally good, but steak-frites was very disappointing (excessive char on exterior with interior undercooked relative to ordered medium-rare). Interactions with servers were generally positive, but sometimes it took a long time to get help.
Farewell party will great window seat. Waiter and Bussier were great!
Veal bad - big party of 16 not 6 feet away. Ask for bread and brought only oil no parmigiana cheese or pepper like the other tables. The penne was over cooked. Very loud. Bad experience
