We were there on Saturday 7:15
They were out of Lasagna, and their special so we ordered something else and we were not happy with the food.
We have had great experience there before as well as the place in Warwick but this particular time it did live up to their normal
The owner or manager was very accommodating and despite having outdoor reservations, gave us an indoor table right by the open front of the restaurant. Drinks were good…and the sangria was very good. The shrimp salad was fantastic…but the main course was sort of unremarkable. It wasn’t bad…but it didn’t earn the “we need to eat here again” rating. Overall, a good evening and decent meal but we won’t necessarily be rushing back.
The food was delicious and the wait for food was not long. Great wine list. The waitress was polite, professional and knew the menu and specials. The only 1 thing that I was disappointed was we reserved outdoor seating for the back patio, as was our anniversary and there was a mixup so we had to sit outside in the front. However, there was live music outside so it was enjoyable. We will definitely be back again.
Food and service unmatched. Location and ambiance really special!
We dined here for Al fresco on the hill. The weather was lovely and we sat outside. Our server was great and very attentive. The food was good.
Great service from Ashley. Food was good, calamari was excellent.
Highly recommend, great staff and made to order food. We will definitely be back!
All was good except the live entertainment- too loud. It was hard for my date and I to have a relaxed conversation as well as to communicate with the server. Venue is too small to have amplified music.
Risotto balls were delicious as was the creme brûlée. However, our meals were average.
Good food, service was excellent. Sat in back patio - nice and quiet. Inside bar looked really nice. Used a Groupon here to try it out. We will be back.
pretty run-of-the ill Italian menu. nothing fancy or innovative. service was very good. food was good but slightly above average.
My tennis team went for dinner here and it was great. The food was great, the waitstaff were very helpful and accommodating. We'd eat here again if we come to play in Providence on another date.
Sat outside , lovely night. They should make their area more eye appealing.
Husband ordered lasagna, his favorite. When the dish came there was no meat in it. After research by the waitress it seems they ran out of their usual and cook took it upon himself to substitute a vegetarian dish. Having been in the "business" myself for several years, never saw that coming! We quickly changed entree and all was well. I had the swordfish special and it was great.
Owner is very hands on. Does a great job.
Enjoyed the food and ambiance. Halibut was excellent
The food and service were excellent. It wasn’t busy, great place for someone with a gluten allergy.
Love this place. Great experience every time. Highly recommend it!!
My friend and I had a fantastic time. We ate outside in the cute outdoor patio and the service was great! Would definitely recommend this place.
Sorry. I wanted to love this place. While the restaurant, front and rear patios are very nice, the service was hostile and quite awful and the food was very low quality. Waitress was rude and extremely impatient. Board was essentially a lunchable thrown of wood. Definitely not Federal Hill worthy spot, too bad. Great location, nice set up but service and food are severely lacking.
Took 20 minutes before we got a waitress to ask us if we wanted drinks. Food was not as ordered. Definitely do not get the sunday special(horrible). Filet was good, but had to send back overcooked. My Cosmos didnt even taste good. Outside patio is very nice and the entertainment was awesome. I think they need more waitstaff, and new cooks. Has potential. I wont be back!
The management was very accommodating and the waitress did a great job. Some food selections were limited or not available at the time of our visit. There was still a great selection of meals. And yes, the food was very good. We sat in the patio area which added some ambiance to our visit. There was also a young woman entertaining us with her beautiful voice. Overall, the six of us had a great time!
The food and the outdoor patio was excellent
Good food. Staff was friendly and efficient. Portions were small.
The service was right on. The ambiance- nice. We sat outside in back on the patio. However, the scallops tasted old and the white sangria tasted watery. We had the 3 course special for $29.99. My husband got the statler chicken and while we expect the special to have smaller entrees, these were tiny. Especially the chicken dish my husband got.
Food was delicious, service wasn't what you would expect at all... didn't seem to understand how the restaurant week menu worked with one app to share and one dessert to share. took forever to get drinks from time we were sat then at the end of the meal tried to excuse the wait on the large party seated inside when it wasn't the food that took a while.
We love Tavolo..wasn't out first time and wont be our last...service was spotty at times, but that is no fault of the employees as I am sure they were a bit short staffed. One of our meals did not come out as ordered, but that issue was rectified quickly
The food and wine is always great at Tavolo!
Waiter was rude and rushing. Meals came out wrong. Water and drinks were asked to be filled several times, never happened. One meal was forgotten and the manager came over and gave it to one guest when ever was done eating. Stay far away! Manager and Waiter rude.
My husband 50 th bday
One of the worst dinning experiences in my life. I’ve been to multiple restaurants and have never been disrespected like I was at this place. The service was slow granted the short staff, but our waiter was late and not welcoming. Upon leaving with leaving a tip rewarding of the service, the server came out and verbally abused me and my peers for not leaving a bigger tip on the tab. He started to cause a scene on the street and when I asked for the manager he stated to be the manager while yelling at me. As I asked the valet for the owner of the restaurant ñame the same waiter continued to verbally attack me and raise his voice. He brought out my gfs purse that she accidentally left and yelled, “ I could of just thrown this in the valley!” as I kept repeating for him to leave me alone. Never will I recommend this restaurant or ever go again. I never do a review but felt this had to be let known to the public.
We went during Providence Restaurant Week and that was probably our first mistake. We showed up and our reservation through Open Table didn't show up, but they seated us in 15 minutes anyway. We waited about 10 minutes before the waitress came over and took our orders. The drinks took about 30 minutes to arrive, the appetizers took about 1 hr and 15 minutes to arrive. At one point, the waitress looked over at us and made a face like she forgot to put in our orders. We had to ask the manager for bread while we waited for entrees. The entrees took another 45 minutes. By this time, we were fed up and asked for our desserts to go and while waiting, saw another table who was seated at least 20 minutes after us get the same desserts. Overall, the food was very lackluster. The bolognese and short rib had no flavor. However, the ice cream was very good. While we understand that restaurants in general are short staffed, it was a generally awful experience. Definitely would not return.
We had a wonderful evening at Tavolo. Bill was a wonderful host to the space and made sure everything was good with our meals, and he even offered an umbrella to shield us from the rain. Extremely grateful for the thoughtfulness and well-timed check-ins from our server.
I don’t know what happens to this location when it’s restaurant week but their quality and service goes way down. I ordered a 9oz glass of wine and the waitress Jo brought me a 6oz and proceeded to argue with me after I told her that it wasn’t a 9oz. She brought my fiancé a 9oz and it was an obvious difference. The restaurant itself was so hot that we couldn’t breathe. They had the doors open for fresh air and breeze but it was extremely hot regardless. The food was ok. My steak was dry and my side pasta that it came with was old. At that point I didn’t even bother sending it back. Who knows what I would get back. I won’t be coming back to this location. It was super disappointing and I really just wanted to enjoy my anniversary dinner. The locations in Warwick and Smithfield are much better.
Atmosphere and service was great. The food itself was not so good. It had minimal flavor and the meats were costly and dry. Certainly not what we would expect from Italian food on Atwells Ave. This place just doesn’t measure up to the competition there.
Everyone was so personable and accommodating. I would definitely go there again.
It was quite warm in there and service was a little slower and less attentive then expected however do know the service industry is struggling with help. Thank goodness assume owner helped out.
Food and deal was very good, would go back we usually go to the Lincoln property however providence week brought us to your restaurant.
We went for our anniversary and was anticipating a good time. We both had the he restaurant week specials. The waitress seemed annoyed and disappeared after serving the appetizers. I was hoping to order a glass of wine to have with the appetizer. The meal was adequate, the drinks were good however service was minimal. As stated earlier I wanted to celebrate our anniversary but the lack of service and the food being just okay definitely but a damper Ian the evening. On a positive note, the singer was fantastic.
From the time we walked in, to the time we left, everything was fantastic
So good! Food was good and wine flight was great
We had not been back to Tavolo for several years so going back this time was a treat. We regularly dine at the Smithfield location but we wanted to go "to The Hill". The decision was a great one. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I believe they will make it a point to visit again
Tavolo, be bold, season your steaks and your salmon. Your tomato bisque and Caeser salad were bland, too. Good service, but that doesn't make up for limiting flavors.
