Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grille
Staff was nice and the space is nice but the food was just fair.
Excellent service and food. They ran out of their two best cuts of steak, Bud light and no espresso. This is not good management for a place on the Hill
New Year’s Eve
I thought the food was very good. I had Veal Parmesan, so nothing too fancy, but it was well-prepared.
The wine list was long, but surprisingly had only a few Italian Wines.
Only one beer on draft, which I thought was strange, but they did have an extensive list of bottled beer.
Overall, a good experience and I would try it again.
Very good. Worth the visit. Staff is very efficient. Must try.
They seemed to run out of food and drinks. For example, a specific drink was ordered with no issues and the next time, they were out. When ordering from the menu, we were told there was only 2 left and had to order quickly before someone else ordered the item. Our waiter was not very good, we had to keep waving him over when he should have been checking on us periodically.
It was fairly empty on the evening we went which was between Christmas and NY. Service was great, nice wine list and fairly extensive menu. Food was good, not great. Service was very good.
We were sat by the door which wasn't ideal with the cold weather. The food was delicious though, everyone was happy with their meals. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The noise was a little louder than I preferred. I would return again for another meal.
We were a party of 4 and every one of us raved about our meals. From appetizers (calamari and rice balls) to dessert, all was delicious. Our waitress was excellent and made excellent suggestions. We were never rushed. Would definitely recommend.
This restaurant is excellent. We go here often. The food is wonderful, great wines and excellent service.
Valet parking was a plus- now I know i can easily return for another delish meal. The outside courtyard looks like it will be fun in the summer. Great meal!
Very cute place, nice wine list but the one wine we ordered they didn’t have. Server said the special was Cajun swordfish, 2 of us ordered it and when it came the waiter said ‘oh I guess we’re not doing Cajun tonight, it’s just grilled. I hope that’s ok.’ Some things could use some work but we will probably go again.
Wonderful! Our waiter was fantastic and the food was delicious. Already can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful food, great prices, excellent service, amazing wine list.
Love Tavolo - Sherry, owner and aKathia, bar tender always makes u feel like a VIP - love this place!!!
Great meal and great service at Tavolo. There was a Christmas party going on so the bar was very loud which made it hard to have a conversation but other than that a great dinner.
Good food and service and recommendations by the server
Our dinner at Tavolo was delicious, and we found the atmosphere very conducive to a relaxing evening. We'll go back!
Had been before to kill time over a glass of wine. Everything was fantastic- from their extensive wine list to reasonably priced menu. Great service and nice clean restaurant. HIGHLY recommend!!
Had great experience. Our server Nick was very friendly and accommodating. We both had the Halibut special which was huge portion and great flavor. Too full for dessert but will be back to try again.
I booked reservations at the Providence Tavolo through Open Table and mentioned it was for a birthday, however, when I got to the restaurant, they said they had no record of any reservation for me. I had printed out the confirmation and showed it to the person there and he said the reservation did not show up on his screen. Although we were able to get seated right away because it was early in the evening and the beginning of the week, and the food and service were good, it was still disheartening to be questioned about the reservations when I had the proof to show that they had indeed been made through Open Table.
Food took forever but it was a good time
We were there for two hours and only had appetizers, the restaurant was clearly understaffed but there was no apologies or acknowledgement that we had been waiting an unacceptable amount of time for any service. Only one appetizer came out first and we had to wait 15-20 minutes until the remaining two appetizers arrived causing the first to get cold since everyone in the party couldn’t eat together. After waiting another hour and still not receiving our entree’s we could not wait any longer and had to leave.
Always excellent food and service
Brought our friends for special B-Day and their 35th anniversary dinner celebrations. They loved it. Thought i mentioned these special occasions on Open Table reservation, but waiter didn't mention either and i forgot to ask ahead of time for special dessert with candle.
Great meal and Great drinks. Definitely want to go back again.
Good food and great Service. A little slow sometimes but wait staff is very accommodating and will bring you extra bread or drinks when requested.
We had dinner with another couple and found the food choices to be really good. Being Italian, we liked that the choices were traditional Italian and not nouveau Italain that so many restaurants have.
We would definitely go back.
We booked this last minute as the only place with openings left on federal hill. We were pleasantly surprised though! The food was great! We will be back!
Food was good. Pumpkin martini was delicious. Good, timely service.
Good food and drinks, reasonably priced( not cheap but good value). Excellent service. Friendly staff. Complimentary valet parking (yes, you should tip).
We dine here often. Food is great, service is friendly, and prices are 3/4 of other restaurants on the hill.
Nothing special to say, but could not figure out how they ran out of Tito's. That's pretty weak. Waiter was great and engaging.
Food was delicious. My boyfriend had filet mignon and it was tender. I had the pan roasted startler chicken. Very juicy, not dry and seasoning was perfect. The service was very good. Overall a nice dinner. Definitely good back again and highly recommended!
We have always enjoyed this restaurant but this time it was just not up to par. Sat at a very nice window table. Then we were ignored for about 15 minites. When the server did come to greet us he blew it off saying oh I didn't see you for a second. We ordered drinks. My wine was gone by and waiter didn't believe us he finally did take it back to the bar and they agreed the bottle was gone so opened a new one. Better. Risotto balls were delicious. But my short ribs were on the dry side and mashed potatoes and veg were cold and carrots too hard to eat. Wifes salad was average and 10 dollars for three small shrimp barely warm. We were told that the add on was jumbo shrimp! Just an off night.
There are better restaurants nearby that are similarly priced. Our waiter was not terribly professional, and he pressured us several times to order an appetizer, forcing us to feel like we needed to explain that we didn’t want a large meal. I had the braised short ribs, which were delicious, but the garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables were tasteless. My mother had the fried risotto balls, which were tasty, but the caprese salad was mediocre. The place was not crowded on a Saturday night, which likely is a reflection of the fact that the locals know that this place is nothing special.
Awesome food and the bartenders, Kasia and Amenda, were outstanding!!
Always a great time at Tavolo- will continue to come back and recommend
We have been here several times. They were very short staffed on the night we visited. Did not have a table for us even though we had a reservation so we found seats at the bar. Only the bartender and 1 waiter working the whole place. They did a great job considering the amount of people and lack of staff. The food came out in a timely manner and was very good as always. I commend the staff that was there and we will be back as I know this was unusual for Tavolo’s.
This place is mediocre. Completely dead on a busier night and service was lacking. Our drinks were definitely made wrong. Food was not good enough to go back.
