We have twenty gourmet pizzas with a pizza bar at which you can sit as our professional staff perfects their creations. Wow. Words cannot describe how spectacular my evening was. 99% of this was because of my outstanding waitress, Maddie. She knew the menu so well, gave great suggestions, and was so kind and personable. If I go again, I am requesting maddie as my server! So friendly!
This is the first time I've tried Tavolino for lunch, and I'm glad I did. They have a "3-course" Italian lunch that is a real bargain, and delicious. You can choose among appetizers (I had a small Caesar salad and my friend had the calamari), a main course such as panini, and a small dessert, and it was something like $16 each in total (without drinks, of course).
Had the Tuscan hearth roasted wings for a starter. For dinner, I ordered the wild boar from the starter menu and a side salad. Brings me right back to Italy. My husband had a prosciutto pizza with arugula. My son had the Bolognese. Everyone was happy.
My family was in town, and Tavolino's beautiful patio caught my eye! OpenTable made it convenient to set up a reservation (however I guess my request for outdoor seating didn't show up because I had to remind the host as he was about to seat us inside) Our server, Desiree, was very courteous and patient with us, as it was our first visit. She answered all of our questions, and took very good care of us. All of our food was delicious, as well! My brother and I each ordered a small pasta, and my parents shared a small pizza. The portions were appropriate. The prices are not cheap, however, which is why I would recommend Tavolino for special occasions. Four stars!
The food was delicious. We sat on the outdoor patio and we're tormented by bugs. Had to ask to have the tiki torches lit and it took at least 30 minutes for this to happen. Also had to ask for the dirty dishes to be cleared form our table. Waitress seemed to forget about us.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The service was pleasant and efficient. There was a nice variety of mostly Italian dishes. Some of them came in two sizes which was nice if you wanted a smaller meal. We were surprised by the large antipasto which was largely meats and cheeses. We were expecting more salad with greens. Food was very good and I would recommend.
Unfortunately the great experiences of years past seem to be gone. Food is more bland than ever. There is nothing that stands out about our meal. Tomato soup tasted like tomato sauce. Chicken parm is just served on sauce-less plain angel hair. Salad had a disproportionate amount of figs. Hope the chef can create some "wow" meals.
I absolutely love Tavolino's. Great service, delicious food, nice atmosphere! Even my husband, who usually finds something wrong while dining out, raved about the wonderful experience (and told friends about it)! Great place!
It was our first time dining at Tavolino's we truly enjoyed our lunch, it was awesome! There were 4 people in our party and each meal was as good! Only 1 thing we would like to mention, wish there was a placemat or a tablecloth. Our drinks left water all over the table and crumbs everywhere so I felt like I was eating on a messy table after a while.
Overall great experience and we will be back for sure~
We ate here on a Saturday night with friends. We requested and were seated outside on their patio. Unfortunately the patio overlooks the parking area/road, so it isn't exactly scenic, but it was a perfect night (warm, not humid) for sitting outside. Our waitress was attentive without being overly conspicuous. The wine list has enough choices for everyone, and I like that you can order a quartino of wine. The bread was ok, and the dipping oil was good - a bit spicy when you got near the end, when most of the oil was gone and just the peppers, etc. were left. I ordered the bourbon rosemary steak tips, which were very good but could have been a little more tender. I chose for my 2 sides the gargozola risotto, which was also good if you like cheesy things, and the grilled asparagus. For dessert I split a piece of chocolate cake? pie? that was essentially a thin layer of chocolate cake topped with chocolate mousse. I thought this was the best part of the meal! :D
it's easy to forget just how good (and consistently good) it is at Tavolino. For a while, we were going about once a month and were always satisfied. Then somehow it slipped off our radar and Friday's visit was the first one o almost a year. it was just as good as ever, from the featured wine of the month to the very reasonably priced - and Italian-centric wine list to the entrees. Home-made short-rib raviolis were top notch with a good-sized chunk of (boneless!) short rib on the side of the plate, to boot!
I've been to the restaurant in the past and it is usually wonderful. This time, however, the food was not as good as it used to be. I ordered soup which tasted watered down, shrimp scampi - the shrimp were delicious and perfectly cooked, the pasta was watery and tasteless; the dessert was extremely sweet. My friend had the tiramisu which is her favorite everywhere we go, she found the cream very heavy and she did not eat it. We will come back and give it another try because we have loved the restaurant in the past. It may have just been an "off" day on this visit. Our server was the absolute best. He was very pleasant, attentive, personable -- we could not have asked for better.
I am so upset that the restaurant was closed yet they still took an online reservation. This was a reservation for my wife's 40th birthday and when we showed up the restaurant was close for technical difficulties. I think they should have turned off the online reservation feature for the night. Very disappointing.
Made reservation for my wifes birthday on 7/30. When we arrived there were many confused patrons to be and a note on the door that they were closed. Needless to say what should have been a wonderful meal for a special occasion was wrecked due to their inability to coordinate their online booking with Open Table. Very disappointed with how they handled the "mechanical issues" that forced them to close. We would expect a note on a door to a walk in place which didn't take reservations, not a nicer restaurant.
After a year away we decided to give Tavolino a new try, bad decision. A year prior we had a bad food experience and they said they were breaking in a new crew in the kitchen.
We ordered the chicken parm and caesar salad. The chicken Parma was burnt on the bottom side and the salads didn't come out until we were almost easy to leave. #lessonlearned, the staff was nice, but didn't seem to care that things were off #badcx - won't be going back again
