Tavolino - Foxborough Ratings and Reviews
Full portions of short rib ravioli was approximately 12 ounces total with a 3 oz piece of beef at $28
The kids cheese pizza was delivered burnt - not normal wood fired oven here and there but more charcoal than pizza. The server grimaced as she put it on the table. We lifted the pizza and it was jet black on the entire pizza. The oven is 25 to 35 degrees hotter than it should be. Shame. The server knew we would return it
Have eaten here many times and always had a good experience, this time not so much. 😞 good drinks, though overpriced, very good beet salad, but balsamic BBQ chicken pizza disappointing. Balsamic overpowered most flavors on the pizza, chicken appeared to have been pulled straight out of a Perdue salad pack. Balsamic was so pervasive, ordered the NZ Kato Sauvignon Blanc and it was the worst wine I've had in years, but I assume it was the vinegar effect! Don't need to spend $95 for this! Service was fine (not exceptional) but under 21 waitrons couldn't tell you anything about beers or wines. 😟
Met friends for valentine dinner, full disclosure we're regulars and love going to Tavolino for the food and wines but especially for the fabulous service we receive from wait staff, bar staff and management. they've made us feel special from the very first visit...
Wasn't too impressed for a bday dinner on sunday night. Sat immediately, and then waited 15 minutes to go back to the host stand to ask a server to come over. Was not busy in the restaurant at all. Server came over and dont think it was her fault. Our party was 6 adults and 2 small children and an infant. We were there for a bday celebration. After putting in drinks, took some time for them to come out. For a sunday, everything seemed to be in slow motion. Asked if there was bread for the kids and was told that it was in the oven? At this point we were there for over 40 minutes...Disappointing...Entrees were all good and no issues, and the kids meals were a success. Spoke to the server on the side and asked if possible to write "happy bday" on a dessert. No problem.... Placed the dessert order and after about 15 minutes walked around with my daughter and saw the desserts in the window. Food runner told us it was for our table but nothing was written on the plate. No problem, they would fix. After 20 minutes more got up again to find out the issue and what was taking so long. At this point in the restaurant over 2 hours and anyone who has small kids knows time has run out. Desserts finally came out along with apologies for the delay. Restaurant ended up comping the desserts which was not necessary but nice to have. For the price point of the restaurant, I expected much more. We choose Tavolino instead of going to Providence to try something new. Might be some time before we try it again.
Needed a place with gluten-free options for our son. Visited with kids (7 and 16). Had a great seat right next to where they prepared the pizzas while really entertained the kids! The staff making the pizzas were very friendly - they chatted with the kids and even gave little girl a lump of dough to play with. Food was very good and everyone wanted a chance to go back and try other pizza combinations. One suggestion: some places with a large selection of craft beers give you a card to track which beers you've tried; we would like a card to track the pizzas we try!
Tavalino's has a great formula for serving creative dishes consistently.
You can get your basics; but as well some delicious alternatives the Italian norm.
I don't remember the last time I ordered a pizza there; it might be my first intention on entering; but something on the menu always catches my eye and I simply want to try it.
Hats off to the entire staff for making our party of 7 extremely happy.
Always a winning meal at Tavolino. Made reservations the day of and we arrived a few minutes early. No problem, a great table is ready. The service is always excellent. My teenage sons like the "mocktails" on the back of the drink list. My stuffed peppers were yummy and the first quartino of wine had started to take effect when my pizza arrived. Everyone loves it there. No room for dessert! I tipped big because the food, the service, the decor is always just what we want on a Friday night.
Tavolino has a very pleasant atmosphere and the food is good. I have eaten here before and enjoyed the food more in the past. This time I ordered the pasta boscaiolo and found it good but not great. The fettucine was closer to a linguine. Nonetheless, I would return. The pizzas on the other tables looked delicious, so I think I will opt for pizza next time. My friend enjoyed her entree salad.
There were six of us seated at a high-rise table which allowed for plenty of room. There was a fair amount of noise from conversations, but manageable. The food was good and the menu offered some interesting choices. Among us, we had two vegetarians, two low-carb diners, a light eater, and a devoted carnivore. We were all able to find something to our liking. Pleasant decor and very good service.
On Saturday, January 27th, my wife, our two daughters and I visited Tavolino at Patriot Place in Foxboro for a family night out dinner. We had made our reservation via OpenTable for 8pm, however, we arrived a bit early about 10 minutes and were pleasantly pleased to be immediately seated at hightop table with a great view of the kitchen. Our waitress, Courtney, introduced herself shortly after we were seated and we immediately loved her spirit and attention to us.
The food, appetizer (Wild Boar Gnocchi) and our dinners (Veal Saltimbocca, Fig & Prosciutto Pizza, and Marinara Pizza), as well as our drinks were all phenomenal as usual (we’re big fans of Tavolino), however, the primary purpose of my review is to recognize the outstanding service that Courtney provided our family.
Our daughters, ages 12 & 10, immediately raved about Courtney from the very start of the night and we all thoroughly enjoyed having her as our waitress. She exemplified what outstanding customer service is and definitely made what was originally just a regular Saturday family night out for dinner into an an awesome night. We will certainly be returning to Tavolinos and just hope that we’ll be fortunate enough to once again have Courtney as our waitress.
This is the second weekend we have had the occasion to dine @ Tavolinos. I was a bit surprised at the approx $30 up charge for 2 glasses of "dry" Pinot Grigio which happens to be one of my favorites ( Santa Margarita), but realizing an entire bottle is $ 17-$18 in a box store. Still, the evening was pleasant.
My wife and I have been to Tavolino several times the Saturday night before Patriots games we were attending. Coming from New York we expect to pay an arm and a leg for good food and service and that's not the case here at all.
Prices for everything are completely reasonable and everything is delicious, especially the parmesan truffle fries. The wait staff is always helpful and polite, we never feel rushed or like we are a burden.
We will continue our Saturday tradition of visiting Tavolino before Pats games as long as we continue coming up for Pats games!
Foods is always good. Excellent cocktail list. Good service and nice atmosphere. Finally tried the pizza, which was delicious and not as expensive as other options. Always a bit surprised that the prices for entrees and martinis are quite high for what I consider to be a higher end casual restaurant.
We are always happy to go to Tavolino. Dependably good food and a broad enough menu so that everyone can find something. 8 of us went after a movie. I really like that they have a smaller portion of many things in addition to a larger size. Perfect! My husband and I both got eggplant parmigiana. It was delicious. He had a Caesar salad with his which he enjoyed. Our daughter got the pizza with a salad on it- she has a dairy allergy and they accommodated this beautifully. Her pizza was really good- even the next day when I was eating the leftovers. I had a glass of the house Cabernet- I am usually not that thrilled with house wines, but I loved this glass of wine, whatever it was! A great way to spend Sunday evening after a movie- good food, good company, good discussion.
Tavolino is one of my favorite places. I love the fact that the food is varied and all is very good. This visit was before the Patriots playoff game with the Titans. The place was crazy busy but the staff remained cool, calm and efficient. I had business associates that I was entertaining so it was important that things went well. They did as always.
After appetizers of wings, calimari and meatballs we ordered a variety of food. I had the short rib ravioli which is a dish worth traveling for. Others ordered a variety of things. The pizza was a big favorite as it was too large for one person to eat so we all had a bit. One person had the steak and was also very happy. The others had various pasta dishes and all were happy. Even with the crowd things did not take too long and we were out in time for security check and kick off.
I am heading back this week for the AFC championship pregame meal and expect things to be great once again.
Third trio to Tavolinos and all have been great experiences. Tavolinos is like two restaurants. At the front of the restaurant it is quite loud and they have an open air kitchen to keep you entertained. This was my first time in the rear of the place which is noticeably more quiet and elegant. Food has always been Great, not a huge menu but good variety. Definitly recommend.
