Tavolino - Foxborough Ratings and Reviews
Foods is always good. Excellent cocktail list. Good service and nice atmosphere. Finally tried the pizza, which was delicious and not as expensive as other options. Always a bit surprised that the prices for entrees and martinis are quite high for what I consider to be a higher end casual restaurant.
We are always happy to go to Tavolino. Dependably good food and a broad enough menu so that everyone can find something. 8 of us went after a movie. I really like that they have a smaller portion of many things in addition to a larger size. Perfect! My husband and I both got eggplant parmigiana. It was delicious. He had a Caesar salad with his which he enjoyed. Our daughter got the pizza with a salad on it- she has a dairy allergy and they accommodated this beautifully. Her pizza was really good- even the next day when I was eating the leftovers. I had a glass of the house Cabernet- I am usually not that thrilled with house wines, but I loved this glass of wine, whatever it was! A great way to spend Sunday evening after a movie- good food, good company, good discussion.
Tavolino is one of my favorite places. I love the fact that the food is varied and all is very good. This visit was before the Patriots playoff game with the Titans. The place was crazy busy but the staff remained cool, calm and efficient. I had business associates that I was entertaining so it was important that things went well. They did as always.
After appetizers of wings, calimari and meatballs we ordered a variety of food. I had the short rib ravioli which is a dish worth traveling for. Others ordered a variety of things. The pizza was a big favorite as it was too large for one person to eat so we all had a bit. One person had the steak and was also very happy. The others had various pasta dishes and all were happy. Even with the crowd things did not take too long and we were out in time for security check and kick off.
I am heading back this week for the AFC championship pregame meal and expect things to be great once again.
Third trio to Tavolinos and all have been great experiences. Tavolinos is like two restaurants. At the front of the restaurant it is quite loud and they have an open air kitchen to keep you entertained. This was my first time in the rear of the place which is noticeably more quiet and elegant. Food has always been Great, not a huge menu but good variety. Definitly recommend.
VERY disappointing. The calamari looked like the crumbs from the fryolater and was overpowered by pepper. Gross. Was not offerend bread, when we asked for some she said they might have run out. Run out of bread? She then brought us doughy uncooked break with just plan olive oil in a bowl. Gross. We waited almost an hour to order and only then I was informed that what I wanted to order they had run out of. So, I settled for the chicken piccata over pasta - chicken was like chewing on a tire, no capers and no lemon sauce - it was just swimming in butter. My boyfriend ordered the steak tips medium and 80% of them were too raw to eat. Again, gross. Was expensive and GROSS. So disappointed in where we chose to spend NYE.
The food here is delicious. The service was SERIOUSLY lacking during my most recent visit. Didn't check in, refill water, ask us if we'd like more drinks - he was pretty much a ghost. Our table was also so/so. A high top for a party with reservations? Very disappointed because I picked the restaurant because I had been there before. My friends were not impressed and neither was I during this visit.
We had reservations for a party of 7. Our table wasn't ready until 20 minutes after we arrived for 6pm. The table was a high table in line with the door which blew pretty regular cold breezes straight through us (I'd recommend that they lock that door if possible as it is normally used for patio seating in seasonal weather).
Our server was as attentive as possible for such a busy night, he was patient as we got our orders together and informed us that the bar was a little slower than usual with our drinks which I did appreciate the transparency.
The food was good enough, however, we did have one entree - a filet mignon - which was requested med-rare but came out well done, very disappointing. We had it sent back and replaced with a bolognese. As another small side note, we were not offered cracked pepper for salads or grated cheese for pasta dishes - If that's typical for this restaurant, I don't know.
We live in Wrentham, so we spend quite a bit of time at Patriots Place. Without a doubt, Tavolino's is our favorite.
Davio's is great, but it is very expensive and a bit stuffy. I think the food at Tavolino's is just about as good, the price is MUCH better, and the atmosphere is way more comfortable.
Add to that, the wine list at Tavolino's is great, and the prices are really fair.
Two of our party had chicken piccata. It was great. We are regulars here, but unfortunately
they took my two favorite dishes off the menu--ribeye steak and steak and gorgonzola piazza. They agreed to make the pizza anyway, but then didn't put in an important ingredient--a creamy gorgonzola sauce--which was missed. Very good value for the quality of the food.
Really busy place, however wait staff was excellent. Food was perfectly cooked and displayed well. We were not rushed out even though they had wait times of 90 minutes. Highly recommended for casual, fun get togethers with friends. Noise level was quite manageable for the number of guests they were serving. We would go there again in a heartbeat, reasonable prices, great service, good selection.
