Opened in October 2023, Tavolena is a tribute to Chef Michael Rolchigo's grandmother, Lena Bello. The restaurants name combines tavolo (Italian for table) with Lena, honoring the kitchen table where Michael’s love for cooking was born. Surrounded by family photographs spanning decades, Lena’s original kitchen table serves as the focal point of TAVOLENA’S private dining room inviting guests into the Rolchigo family story.
The menu features elevated takes on Italian classics, many drawn directly from Lena’s recipes such as Pork Spedinis, Meatballs and Sunday Sauce. Chef Michael reflects a balance of tradition and innovation learned from both Lena and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. At Lena's table everyone was treated as family, come join our family.

This was our first visit. Our waiter was excellent and Michael, the owner stopped by and told us the story of the restaurant. Food was delicious, service was too. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had our 25th wedding anniversary dinner at Tavolena and it was our first time dinning there. Everything was top notch and absolutely delicious, service was exceptional, and the ambiance was delightful. The servings are huge and you can’t eat the whole plate. The only negative thing I have to say is that they don’t have a full bar. Highly recommended though and we will be back!

Essentially a modern take on classic NY Style upscale Italian, leaning towards Italian-American home cooking. Definitely authentic for that style, and the dishes are very well-executed. Prices are higher than expected, in line with higher-end PBC restaurants. However, and portions are generally large and shareable, and the ingredients very high quality. Enjoyed the meatballs, the pastas were all cooked al dente and very flavorful, and the colossal veal parm was reminiscent of the best in NYC and cutlets my grandmother made. We did not try anything here that was light -- its a meal, go hungry. Read a lot about atmosphere, we were unfortunately seated in the "Bakery". However, I see you can specify were you want to sit on Opentable (we did not realize the differences), so choose the main dining room unless you want to feel like you are on the set of Mamma Mia.

Extremely high food prices, that do not fit the food. The food is GOOD. But many items on the menu are significantly over priced ($68 pasta w/shrimp). They have great wine and the chef/owners and my server were super nice! Lovely people. Oh and the best almond GF scone cookies I’ve ever had.

Everything we ordered (and we ordered A LOT) was out of this world delicious. The staff was very accommodating and kind. Gerald took great care of us. We will absolutely be back.
