Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. What an exicting restaurant! Such great flavors! Wild mushroom humas, chilean sea bass, the lamb shank were incredible! Our waitress Missy was spot on all evening.

We were a party of 4 and this was our first meal at Tavi. The restaurant is beautiful, the entire staff is professional and attentive, and the food is delicious. Robust flavor, beautiful presentation, and generous portions impressed us. We will return!

Excellent all around. The food was a blast from the past for both my wife and I (we met and worked in the kitchen at Shaya on Magazine), the service was the perfect balance of friendly, knowledgeable and non-obtrusive. We are very thankful to have an extension of our favorite BRG restaurant on the northshore now that we live here. We will 100% be back.

The food was great, but it was very noisy. I was there for a birthday and they knew that when I checked in and asked who in the party was celebrating a birthday. He ordered dessert, but there was no candle or anything. When I spoke with our waitress she knew nothing about a birthday. She did comp the two desserts that were ordered. The Pita bread was irresistible. Don’t try to go there if you’re on a diet. Most of the appetizers require you to eat the pita bread. Only someone with real dedication could go there and not enjoy the that bread!

Our second visit. Invited friends and they loved it just as much. Have to go back for a third time and try the other menu items. Two orders at the same table, and Kayla (sp) took care of our 7 person party, flawlessly. She did not hover over us, nor was she absent. The food is phenomenal! The plates, the presentation and the timing were excellent. From twelve years of age to sixty years old, we all found something delicious to eat (and bring home!). Dining area is beautiful and light inside. Aromas are subtle and pleasant. We were seated in-between lunch and supper, so we were the only diners there for the most part. A little uncomfortable for us, but that is not on TAVI. First time we were there, there was the chatter from other diners, employees with various plates and delicious smells passing by our table. The oven was in constant use. We had; Mezze for five, which consists of Baba Ghanoush, Ikra, Moussaka, Smoked Labneh, and Heirloom Tomatoes (orange), Sujuk, Fattoush (with shrimp), Israeli salad, Falafel, Shakshuka, Lamb burger (beautiful just to look at) Both of our visits have been on a Sunday. It was easy and safe to park. Casual dress. There are very few restaurants that I want to visit more than a time or two. Tavi is a little less than an hour away, yet we have no second thoughts about returning. Bravo!

Tavi is a great restaurant in downtown Covington that we find ourselves returning to every couple of months for date night. Starting with the delicious cauliflower hummus and moving on to a variety of small plates is our go-to. This outing we ordered the Brussels sprouts and the feta pide, both of which were amazing. Combined with the restaurant’s unique spins on cocktails (I would suggest the Saz-Arak!), you really can’t go wrong here for a great meal. The cinnamon babka is one of the best desserts we’ve ever had! Once again, we can’t wait to come back to Tavi.

Omg!!!! The absolutely MOST amazing flavors in their food items! Just melts in your mouth! Even the Lebanese tea was awesome! The service was “like no other” on the Northshore! The Sea Bass was impeccable, as was the Hanger Steak! Only go here if you have time to just SAVOR every moment and morsel!!!! It was a bit noisy by the time we were leaving and the tables are quite close, but food was incredible!
