Good food and good service. First time and will definitely come again.
Xlnt food for our party of 4. 2 of us shared an order of mussels which were very good. The other couple shared a beet salad, also very good. Then each couple shared an order of sturgeon, which was xlnt.
Only criticism I have is the highly over-priced spirits & wine. $34 for a single serving of Oban single malt scotch whisky is outrageous. Prior to this, the most I had seen on a menu was $18. Wines are similarly over-priced.
Food was great, the service was great, but the acoustics in this restaurant are TERRIBLE. We were seated next to a large table of about 8 who were all drinking and carrying on which is fine. But they were so loud and the loudness echoes in that space that I couldn't hear anything my partner said at dinner which was annoying.
Very limited menu, and I guess we got a waiter with other things to do. Food was fine, but pretty pricey for what it was.
Very disappointing meal...actually had to send my pasta back to the kitchen as it was way too salty, the pasta wasn’t cooked even al dente, and the sauce was bland. Definitely not worth the price.
The food and service were alright, but the value for what was served fell a bit short. Acoustics was not conducive for conversations.

Fun atmospheric spot walkable close to the Folly theater . Great quick service . We spent 93.00 inc tip for two entrees, a single glasses of wine each and a shared dessert . Food was good, they make their own pasta .Dessert was a light fresh saffron rice pudding with a pineapple fruit marmalade . Their focaccia bread comes pre saturated with quite a bit of olive oil vs dipping , one of us liked that the other did not . It’s complimentary and hey, what is food if not an adventure .... we will return again.
Everything was good and waiter was amazing! It was a little dirty inside especially beside the windows with old food.

Took my wife to Tavernonna for dinner before our show at The Folly Theater. The environment is beautiful, very clean, super friendly service staff. The food was incredible, and we didn’t have to wait long periods of time. The wine was phenomenal as well.
Great dining experience, had the daily special - strip steak and the rigatoni Bolognese.... steak was good not great, pasta was excellent. Best part of the meal was the caprese salad and the meatballs.
The food was very tasty and well prepared except for the $6 meatball. It was very bland and dry. the staff was very attentive and the ambiance was nice. Overall a 4.
Tavernonna has a beautiful atmosphere and wonderfully attentive staff. The warm fococcia bread was phenomenal, however the entree dish I had was not great. I feel like they should mark spicy dishes on the menu because I was not expecting spicy spaghetti. Overall, I'd say 4/5 but really pay attention to your order.
Just a nice place to celebrate our anniversary... good food, good prices, really decent waitstaff...our first time there and we enjoyed it! Nice ambience.
Pricey. Two salads and shared dessert was $40 including tax and tip.
Gelato was good, but beet salad dressing either had too much vinegar or the dressing just needed to be mixed better. I wouldn't order it again.
The food was delicious. Our server, Cade, was fantastic. The view of the city life outside was engaging. It was the perfect dinner to celebrate our first anniversary! We greatly enjoyed our mushroom and wild boar pappardelle, flat iron steak, affagato for dessert, and seasonal drinks. We will be coming back!

Very nice lunch,good service and quite enough for conversation. Meatball appetizer and pasta entry served cooked Italian style al dente. Sauce perfect, a glass of Chianti Classico a nice choice.

Lisa, our waitress was rude. Food was too salty and risotto over cheese and undercook. Never coming back.

We had a decent size group of 7. As dinner came nearer we had to drop it down to 4 because of unforeseen meetings times. My waitress was mostly offended that I waved at her (in the middle of my stretch) to get her attention. I just thought to tell her that our party has moved down in numbers so that she could either move us to a smaller seating arrangement or move a table away from ours to better and quickly accommodate the dinner rush, that I assumed would happen there. She commented “you don’t have to wave me down next time.” I was caught off guard and said “I’m sorry if that offended you...” and she walks off.
Later as I asked for the ticket my guest wanted to pay but I was being playful in whispering to my waitress to make sure I get the check so my guest wouldn’t pay. I was serious. They check came and I dropped my CC and name badge so it would get my waitresses attention...she stared at it and walked away. In general I thought she would pick it up and hand it back to me but, my waving at her may have offended her so much that I couldn’t get any other type of courtesy.

Over seasoned every plate. Spaghetti tasted equally with an MRE spaghetti meal, with hard noodles.
Was definitely not worth the time or price, have had better meals from a can.
The Tavernonna was a great place to celebrate our 32nd anniversary!! Lovely atmosphere and delicious food!
First time dining here and it was a very pleasant experience. Complimentary focaccia bread is so good. I recommend getting the lemon ricotta with it. Excellent dishes, they came out piping hot with great flavor. Meatballs, rigatoni bolognese, spaghetti pomodora, fried chicken parm, Brussel sprouts, roasted potatoes...all were excellent. Our waiter was also tending bar, he was very busy and since he couldn’t be as attentive to our table, he would send others over to check on us. He was friendly and charming and did a wonderful job with what he was given. Pretty sure someone didn’t show and he was filling in for them. He had a smile the entire time. We all loved it there and will definitely go again.
The only thing that was okay was the service. Other than that the food was meh. The place was dead but when I talked to someone on the phone they gave us a hard time about adding two people to our reservation but we had an entire room to ourselves. They had a limited menu. The pasta was nothing special and for the prices it’s a rip
Off. Spaghetti and a single meatball for $20?!? I’ve had better spaghetti at Olive Garden. Hate to write a bad concern but this is the second time we’ve been there and both experiences were a 2-3 star...
Service was not great.. Our server didn't know how to open up a bottle of wine - messed up the cork, left to have someone else open it and then came back and poured. We ordered an appetizer of foccacia and it never was brought to our table - we think the group next to us got it. Our dessert, an affogato, which is a scope of ice cream and a shot of espresso took 20 minutes to get to our table. We paid and received our receipt before the dessert came.
Overall, the food was good. But the service was not great by any means and the timing was less than ideal as well. I think most things could be helped by giving the servers a little more training and support.
The best thing about our Tavernonna experience was our server - unfortunately her name has escaped me. We tried the bruschetta and beet salad and the special of the day - a mushroom appetizer that was outstanding. For our entrees we had the mushroom pappardelli and the halibut. The pasta was very good and the fish dish was good just a little over cooked. I would dine at Tavernonna again.
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, and we are SO happy we did! The food was absolutely delicious! I was a little disappointed because I looked at menu's online ahead of time, and it was totally different when we got there so be prepared for that. The ambiance was felt romantic and intimate but not dark a dreary (like many places can be when they go for a romantic vibe). Most of the wine selection is only available by the bottle which wasn't my favorite, but not entirely unexpected in this type of place. Our server was VERY attentive and knowledgeable, which made the overall experience that much better. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere to get great service, food, and ambiance, (and aren't worried about a hefty bill at the end).
Service was great and drinks were good, but food was very lackluster. I asked for steak cooked medium and kitchen couldn’t do that three times in a row. Manager was very condescending.

Love the atmosphere here but that’s about all. There was no greeting or smile from the hostess or the person who seated us. We had the meatballs which were really good but the rest of the food lacked much taste. The bruschetta Was not bruschetta as it was bread with a tasteless white sauce and mushrooms. I thought bruschetta had tomatoes? Was very disappointed in our meal here for the price we paid I would have loved a great meal with a friendly atmosphere.
Arrived 15 minutes early and although there were at least 6-8 open tables, the hostess told us we couldn’t be seated until closer to our reservation time. People who arrived after us were told the same thing. We were seated 2 minutes before our reservation time at a table that had been open since we arrived, as were others. It was uncomfortably warm but after another customer complained, it did cool off throughout our meal. Our waiter, Ray, was awesome, and our food was served quickly however all of dishes were room temp, not as hot as we would have liked. This restaurant is in a very convenient location if you have plans anywhere in P&L district, the Music Hall, etc., which we did, and we were staying at Hotel Phillips for the night, however we probably won’t return to this restaurant.

Sat at the bar before Hamilton, and despite prior reviews that service has been terrible, had a wonderful experience. Drinks were delivered quick, and refilled without having to ask. We got the mushroom and burrata bruschetta, which was delicious and seasoned perfectly. My husband got the rigatoni - always a hit. I tried the new-to-me mushroom pappardelle, and was blown away. So delicious. It reminded me of a grownup more upscale version of beef stroganoff. Great experience!
Loved the menu and could see it is inspired by real Italian. One in our party of two loved the marinara and meatballs. Other thought this and other dishes were over spiced lending almost a Mexican quality rather than true Italian cuisine.
Perfect meal prior to a show at Music Hall.
Greg served us with kindness and warmth as if we were guests in his home. We saw the manager caring for other guests with similar attention. Thank you for a memorable experience. We shall return.
