Taverne Square Dominion
Featuring a plethora of interesting 1920s-inspired design details, the Dominion Square Tavern is a cut above your average downtown eatery. Enjoy simple classic fare or british dishes such as mussels and fries, Cornish hen, scotch egg or bangers and mash in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Top it off with a sinful serving of sticky toffee pudding. A full bar, cocktails, wine and beers await.
Le flétan était DÉLICIEUX! Par contre, très bruyant!
Overall pleasant experience, food was very tasty, staff very friendly and accomodating but not as prompt.
J’ai toujours aussi me l’ambiance .
Musique d'ambiance beaucoup trop forte.
Food and service were top-notch. The cuisine was definitely continental (excellent bone marrow, for instance) but suits a variety of palettes. Wine list is very Europe-focused and maybe a hair overpriced but well selected. When full, the restaurant is pretty loud.
Came to Montreal for one weekend and this restaurant did not disappoint, perfect location and ambiance, food and drinks were amazing. A must go-see in Montreal.
There are much better restaurants than this in Montreal
Had a very nice dinner. Staff was attentive and spoke English. The roasted Cornish game hen was the highlight of our trip.
Our waiter created a non-alcoholic digestif for me! It was excellent. I wish I knew how he made it so I can order one next time. He had a beard. We sat on the couch at the back. He served us in French and English.
Great ambience, casual, long bar, food was above average yet simple. Good service staff seemed knowledgeable. Only minor issue is the noise level is high, hard to have a conversation. Would recommend, great location across from Dominion Square. Indoor parking for $10 next door recommended, little street
Very good food had by all. Daily special was excellent!!
The table was small but that turned out to be a good thing, allowing all 6 of our party to converse.
(Impressed that the waiter kept track of who took what when splitting the bill.)
Made for a very enjoyable evening for all!!
Great vibe, friendly servers with recommendations.
This is a restaurant you can count on every time. The specials are always a good bet!
Been their many times, menu gone to much cheddar cheese and kayl know , not my style anymore , prefer the old menu
Waiting to pay took longer then the meal itself , which ruined the evening for me and my wife
To bad , used to be a nice place to go
Marie Pier was great! Excellent service...best mussels in town..
Fantastique! Merci pour l'expérience!
good hearty food. accommodated a last minute addition to our reservation.
Great old school food with a modern flair. Love the historic ambiance.
I went for a business lunch. The food was very good. I had a beet salad with goat cheese. My only issue was that the service was a bit slow, particularly for lunch. Without an appetizer it still took 1:30 hours and it was difficult to get the bill. But the overall experience, atmosphere, noise level etc was good.
Great ambience created at this up-fare English tavern. My only complaint (minor) was the service was mediocre. No feeling of welcoming nor interest in serving.
Food and drinks were outstanding and quite pricey. I would argue that this is the standard rates in the surrounding area.
I would recommend.
Excellent menu with something for everyone. We had the mussels (in bacon & cider) and salmon dishes, both were great. The "Sea" Ploughman's was a real treat as a starter!! Excellent meal all round.
Excellent food- a bit loud. Go after 7:30 in order to hear your table mates.
Really great staff! Good was good and of high quality. A step up in pub fare.
Most definitely. Lively, great food, clean, great service, interesting beverage choices.
Very good food, everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. Service was good. Slightly noisy at lunch.
Waiter was responsive and good with advice.
Suggest you get better bread. After all it’s Montreal!
Très agréable soirée.
Athmosphère rétro anglaise très agréable.
The food was delicious, drinks were nice though not very strong, lighting lovely, and staff fine. One problem: the music! It was much too loud, and entirely the wrong style for the atmosphere. The music was crashy/noisy sort-of pop or something else too modern and really ruined the otherwise attractive effects of the soft lighting, high ceilings, comfy furnishings, and historic features.
Great location and ambiance. Fantastic service and food. Loved their mixed drinks !!!
