Having received many good reviews from family and friends, we decided to give TO a try. I must say, the environment wasn't as exciting as people had told us but it was good and we enjoyed it. We had originally booked thinking of the Valentine's Day Special but changed it up when we arrived. Not all in our group are too open for changes so we did have to adjust the meals and go back to the Valentine's Day special. Our server was AMAZING! Even after we made a bit of a fuss about the previous plates, which was completely on our end (not the restaurant or server's fault!) he was very pleasant and always made sure whatever we ordered was up to our likes. The manager was very nice as well. I personally do consider it a family friendly restaurant as I had my baby and my 3 yr old nephew and they both enjoyed the dancing and music (especially the napkins!). I'd give it another try during the weekend (on a special occasion) to test the environment once again.
Overall food was good and came out on time given the holiday. However at the very end the server came out and confronted my friend about the tip she left saying everyone else at the table tipped more so he wanted to know why she tipped him that amount. We were stunned and for that reason will not be returning.
Consistent quality food. Not many customers....price was reasonable too.
While visiting Orlando, my husband & I decided to try Greek food one night. After reading the great reviews for Taverna Opa on Trip Advisor, we decided to give it a try. What a great experience!. Everything we ordered was delicious!. The service and ambiance was A+, and as an added bonus, there was even live entertainment, which included a belly dancer. We will definitely be back here on our next visit to Orlando.
Not very family friendly. There was food and garbage all over the floor. Our table was filthy and the water glasses were not clean. After waiting for 10 min for a server we decided to leave.
Meh. Just meh. Very loud, but in fairness we were with a bunch of people that just wanted to hang out and talk.
My wife and I took a potential business partner here for dinner. He was from out of the US, and I suspected (correctly) that he had never eaten Greek cuisine. We sat outside where it was quieter and we could talk. The food was great, and despite it being very busy food came fast.
Loved the food, menu selection and the decor. We just felt that the piped in DJ music could have been a few decibels lower. Also felt our waiter didn’t give us attentive friendly service, perhaps because we didn’t order drinks or dessert. My husband has a heart condition and can’t drink, and we were too full from the delicious food to have dessert. However we do plan on returning to the restaurant in the future and will recommend it to our friends.
Very good food menu & service Our server was from El Salvador Very attentive Will go back again
I have to say even though I made my reservation under special occasion (Birthday), it was not a good night. Food was absolutely great, but the music was blaring so loud with Spanish junk one would think you were in Puerto Rico. My lady and I could not even talk to each other it was so loud. It ruined our night and we felt completely uncomfortable. Greek food yes, music was not a good choice. I am a DJ and what this dude was playing was crud when people expect Greek music. And not one recognition that I was there for a special occasion (small dessert or anything). I advise all if you want peace.... go before 6PM because after that they turn this place into a obnoxious tourist fiesta for the ghetto. Remember, the people who have the dough are not the Hip Hop Millennials who live with their parents.
Fun place with authentic food - love the atmosphere! Wanted to jump up and do Zorba’s Dance with them!
I have been to Orlando for the last 4 years and we always go to Opa. They have amazing main courses, appetizers and drinks. I have gone with children and with friends. It's great for both. The dancing and music and atmosphere is a lot of fun. The staff is always accommodating and friendly.
Was actually disappointed. We are local had been told it was a lot of fun. Was there 7-9:30 the one dancer came out one time for 5 minutes. Then came to out table asked if we wanted a table dance and walked off We went for the atmosphere and was totally disappointed. No fun no dancing no entertainment. Would not go back or recommend to any friends
I brought my husband and little girls here and we sat outside. The food was amazing! We had a great time and my daughter loved dancing with the belly dancer!
1st time there to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our group of 12 people was very much looking forward to it. We were very excited. I wanted my lovely wife to have a unique experience. However...
The place was way too loud. Spent over 2 hours there all crunched up, as tables and chairs are all too close to those on opposite sides leaving no room to move. The music was at a extremely high volume. The DJ played mostly "Pop Music" instead of truly authentic Greek music. The waitress intended to over charge us $50 without providing any apologies whatsoever for the error.
The food ordered (the so called meat platter) intended for 4 people was in no way enough food for 4 people. You are forced to have 4 people in order to place this order; at $33 per person.
A total arm robbery. I expected more.
We went after 10pm on a Friday night and it was so loud that I couldn’t hear the person next to me talking. The waitress had to talk in my ear for me to hear the specials. Don’t get me wrong had I been there with a group for a party or to drink it would have been great but not for dinner.
Very upset with my 1st time experience there.
Food and environment was great!! It was the circumstances that occurred that upset me.
Made reservation online and noted that it was a birthday. Upon arrival, mentioned birthday to hosts. They sat us between a tree and another table. No room for dancers to visit our table.
Told server about birthday and he gave excellent food recommendations but I had to ask him 3 times to bring dancers to table for the birthday person.
Finally got a dancer to birthday person but she didn't dance on table and no fan fare of sparklers which is what 3 other tables next to us got for their special event!?!?!...
Not as lively as other times ive been but we ate early. It was still fun and different for my family who live out of town
We had a reservation and still waited well over an hour to sit down. That was the frustrating part. But this place is fun and the food is good.
