We are Greek and just tried this place out. If you want to know what it is like in Greece (More of an Island feel) come to Taverna Opa. You will not be disappointed. If you are disappointed never visit Greece please. You don’t belong. : )
Excellent service and authentic Greek food. Wonderful staff and very clean. Food tastes great. Definitely worth it. Also, entertainment is enjoyable! Opa!
Great experience and good food. There is a lot of music and it Is a ver lively experience.
Loud, busy, crowded, this is NOT the place for a quiet wind down meal.
Delicious Greek food!! Loved it!!
Staff was friendly and exceptionally helpful. The food was excellent and plentiful. Most prices on the menu were a bit higher than posted on line. Good place to have a good time; not so good if you are trying to conduct business over dinner.
Our waiter Kostas was the best!!! Very attentive and made the experience fun. Food was some of the best Greek food I’ve ever had.
Very nice. We ate outdoors which helped a lot with the noise level. The downside was that we did not get to see the belly dancers, which was one of the reasons we chose the restaurant. We opted for outdoors because the tables inside were the long banquet size tables where you sat with people you do not know and the super loud music.
Don’t go if you want a quiet conversation. It is a constant party with adequate food for the area and a great time.
Our server was on her first ever serving gig and she couldn’t have been sweeter.
Great fun for the entire group
Excellent food and ambiance. Very authentic.
The food was super delicious. The server was friendly and knowledgable, but he was not very timely or attentive due to having multiple large tables to serve. I don't fault him - but overall the service experience was noticeably slow. The food came out of the kitchen pretty quickly, though. We waited a long time at the end to get our checks. I would go back for sure. Just know that you may be there for a long time!
We were shocked at just how mediocre the food was at Opa. This is truly an example of mass preparation of "cultural" food for travelers to Orlando. We were there for a business trip and decided to give Opa Taverna a try. We decided on typical appetizers with calamari, meatballs and fries. The meatballs were uniformly lifeless and tasteless. The fries were nothing special, likely frozen from a bag, I'm sure. And the calamari, our first order was cold, rubbery and lacked seasoning. When we explained this to our waiter, they appropriately apologized and got us another order...which was just warm, rubbery and lacked seasoning. We might be just spoiled with great Greek food at restaurants in Philadelphia, because this place falls short. Certainly other patrons were having a good time at Opa, but I think the environment is a facade for lackluster food.
Food is as close as going to Greece for a night out, without the cross over the Atlantic. Superb!!’
The staff was very courteous and the manager Basim was quite a gentleman and was extremely helpful.
The food is good, the menu is wide. Get the hummus (and I never get hummus). The service excellent. The wine list is fine and priced OK. If you want top shelf wine and booze, they have got it! The scotch selection was WOW. Don't forget to order dessert, worth the calories.
On the flip side, you have to pay to park and the noise level was high. The belly-dancer was entertaining, but after a while, it's repetitive and just loud. It's a great place to go for fun and a good meal. It's lively. If you want to go fine dine and quiet conversation, not so much.
This is my 3rd trip in 3 years. Once for lunch. It's quiet for lunch. Dinners are a party.
Family birthday. Hostess was not organized. Even with a double confirmed reservation, it took them 30 minutes to seat us. She acted like she had never read our request for an inside table. We go to OPA every time we go to Orlando.
Never get tired of eating the Opa style!!!
Relatively expensive food but overall soo good :) loved the belly dancer
Great place. Wish our waiters would’ve been more attentive. But the food was amazing and atmosphere was fun.
Fun environment great staff waiter was great entertainment was different in a good way
Great food and great entertainment. If you’re wanting to talk business or have a 1:1 conversation, I would sit outside.
We had a great time celebrating our son's 22nd birthday. The atmosphere was fun and festive.Being Greek we enjoyed the variety of classic favorites. Our waiter Costas was very good and so nice.We will definitely be coming back soon.Opa!!
Great business lunch spot. Everyone enjoyed their lunch.
It was an excellent meal WITH entertainment! The music was energizing we were dancing in our seats! Celebrating my mother’s 75th birthday she danced in the aisles with the belly dancer! 2 and 1/2 hours FLEW by - we didn’t want to leave! I’ve already insisted to several family members and friends that they MUST go!
Amazing experience! Food, staff and atmosphere was fantastic! I highly recommend!
Waited over an hour with a reservation, then they tried giving our table away. Entire staff was slow and rude.
The appetizers were delicious but the main courses were not. This is my second time there and the first was the same.
However, we don’t go there for the food. The atmosphere and dancing on the tables is a unique experience. We love the music, the belly dancers, and the flaming candles for birthday celebrations. I took my 15 year old daughter & friends for her birthday and we had a blast. The staff really wants you to have a good time.
We had a great experience from start to finish. Food was amazing, staff was very attentive and friendly. We will be back! Loved it!
It was great celebrating my birthday at Taverna Opa. We were stuck in the middle by the tree so the seating wasn’t that great
Fun environment. Food good. Wouldn't recommend the "family Appetizer" meal idea. Not enough food and lots of time in between dishes. Would try again possibly.
I found the overall experience to be enjoyable.
A few things: as a Greek, the food was a bit greasy and salty for my tastes but that can fall into a category of personal preference.
The belly dancing and music were fun! But, a little too loud to go on as long as they did.
The service was fantastic and I enjoyed the ambiance and decor.
Poor service, 45 minutes for our entrees. excessively loud even with sitting outdoors.
Delicious food. Friendly service. Unbelievably loud- don’t go expecting to talk too much with your dinner companions but the whole experience is a loud party. Good times!
Our visit was February 17th, reservation time was 630pm. The waitress was extremely overworked. We saw her when we ordered, and when we paid. The atmosphere was crowded. My mother got hit in the head by a waiter who through a bunch of napkins in a lateral position rather than straight up into the air. She was not happy about that at all. The 12.00 "cake" for my sister's birthday was not appetizing at all. That was a waste of money. Two people in the party ordered the chicken kabobs with onions and peppers. The kabob came with very little onion or peppers. The music is fine but was EXTREMELY loud. I could not gave a conversation. The atmosphere seemed to be more of a club atmosphere, with American music, rather than the Greek feel we were hoping for.
Taverna OPA. The reason your Momma taught you NOT to judge a book by its cover....Upon entering the place seemed dirty as there were napkins all over the floor, the music was loud, and the wait made us question our decision. While waiting we saw one of the belly dancers smiling while she taught a young girl how to do the dance. Thankfully while we were deciding if we had made the wrong choice our party was called. Not wanting to ruin your experience i will remain a bit elusive. The music remained loud but the atmosphere required it. The napkins make sense. The belly dancers made certain that every woman felt welcome. And.....(drum roll) the food is amazing. Basically this place was completely different than anywhere we’ve ever eaten. It took us only moments to realize what an amazing dining experience this would be!!! If questioning - stop and just go GO GO!!!!!
The food was super delicious. Ambiance was fun and lively, but at times tooooooo loud. The service was friendly but at times too long a wait for service and check. Would definitely go back for the food, was great.
What a mad house of fun and great food. This is a must place when you are in Orlando. Enjoy.
Had reservations at 6pm for a party of 7. As I watched all the tables filling up with many that didnt appear to have resevations I asked for the MGR. He was awesome and got us rite in and last table inside it appeared. The rest of the evening was a awesome time and great service, food and drinks.
Excellent ambience good food.Belly Danvers liven up the place
