What a great restaurant for business meals! Staff was welcoming, food delicious and timely, and thank goodness for air conditioning that works well during hot and humid week in Miami!

Dinner was disappointing. Our appetizer was delayed. Came out with our entrees. We let them know we didn’t want it anymore because it was late and they were willing to comp it. Because we didn’t want it they comped us a desert. Overall the meal was ok and desert was ok. Check your bill before you add a tip. Gratuity is automatically included on the bill.

Taverna never disappoints. Friendly service, homemade pasta, fresh fish, sweet desserts all make for a perfect evening. Every week they create a special menu so we can experience the talents of their chefs. A must if you are near or passing buy Akumal.

We came here one before about a year ago on New Year’s Eve. The vibe was nice and the food was amazing. Fast forward about a year and I had to come back because the dish was amazing. Well, unfortunately it was not the same to say the least. Maybe they changed chefs. By boyfriend decided to get the lasagna and it wasn’t very tasty. Maybe because it’s very authentic Italian, we just weren’t used to it. So instead he got the pizza. He asked for pepperoni which they didn’t have so the waiter suggested something close to it. The pizza came out with peppers on it. I didn’t try it but my boyfriend ate half of it. The drinks were amazing tho. I would probably try this place one last time, as a last resort restaurant. Great vibes tho.

On April 16, I had a reservation for Taverna. I was in Miami to take a cruise the next day and I wanted to come back to Lincoln Road. I chose Taverna for the menu items. We were seated by a fountain and this made it festive. The waitress was very pleasant as well as the staff. Those were the positive things about Taverna. Now for the negative. We were given a bread basket with small chunks of focaccia bread. Not used to such small size bread pieces. We ordered three pizzas . Two were margarita and one New Yorker which was a cheesier version. We also ordered a lasagna and a spaghetti with spicy sauce. The pizza was bland and fast food like. Usually margarita pizza has a tasty sauce which stands out with fresh mozzarella melted on top. This was not that version. The New Yorker Pizza was no better. The lasagna was fair and the spaghetti was the tastiest thing on the menu. The most horrible thing about our visit was that someone came up to us soliciting us to buy a CD. After this moment occurred and I denied this offer, I realized my purse was gone which contained my phone, license , passport and credit cards. The staff was somewhat concerned but it was my daughter who called the police. After this incident, I could not longer go on my long awaited cruise. This restaurant should have a barricade on one side so that those who want to enter need to enter on one side where a hostess should stand. Never have I ever seen a solicitor enter a restaurant in that manner to bother customers. This review is being written to warn others from the food that is not tasty as well as the unusual behavior of thieves that entered the establishment and lack of security.
