Enjoy your favorite Italian dishes at Taverna Mercatto. This roomy trattoria offers made-to-order dishes and an expansive wine list, served in spacious chic settings that include a shaded patio. Helmed by Chef Doug Neigel, the restaurant’s menu includes fresh salads, tasty appetizers, pizza and hearty pasta dishes. Taverna Mercatto also offers a fine selection of wine, carefully curated to provide the right complement to its daily menu.

Part of a larger family of restaurants, this restaurant is a suitable pick for a quiet dinner or group outing with friends. Guests can opt to either enjoy their meals within the lively, industrial-style dining room, or al fresco, out on the patio. Taverna Mercatto also offers a special catering menu for private events.

Your table will be reserved for an hour and a half for parties of 2-3, two hours for parties of 4-6, and 2.5 hours for parties 7-8.

Our server was great! Made some great recommendations and helped us get out the door in great time for a concert were going to see.

The staff was super helpful and nice. We had a reservation for 5pm but arrived earlier and were seated with no issue. Food was great and service amazing.

We had a great dining experience. Location is perfect and central downtown Toronto. Food was delicious and wait staff attentive. Would recommend the arancini appetizer and the carbonara pasta!

The restuarant was very hot. The food quality was not great. My business guests very not very impressed.

A lastminute reservation that we really enjoyed. We were seated very quickly and were offered our choice of tables. The service was friendly and quick. We had the calamari and octopus to start. Both were very flavorful. We followed with 3 carbonaras and a bolognese. The carbonara was amongst the best I've tasted. The pasta was cooked to perfection. It had that nice peppery tingle on the tongue. Rich cream from the guanciale gave this dish real depth. The wine list was just ok. We settled on a Marlborough Valley sauv blanc. It was one of the better ones on offer. I would have preferred an Italian but I couldn't find one that would match our tastes. We ended our wonderful visit with a limoncello then a stroll along the Harbour front.

Flavourful and fresh pizza with generous amount of mushrooms and arugula, recommended by our friendly and thoughtful server. Had to take out the creamy and authentic tiramisu for later!

Had our team dinner here last night. It was great to connect outside of work, but the overall experience could’ve been better. The food was okay, though the lasagna was quite salty. The biggest issue was the heat inside—unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn’t working, which made it pretty uncomfortable.
