Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant that offers a truly Italian experience without having to leave Texas. Our Italian chefs strive to create the perfect menu using seasonal ingredients for their surprising entrees; every day we present a variety of northern Italian delights from simple comforts such as pan seared sea bass to delicate pasta and fabulous risotto.

Risotto is indeed our flagship dish. We only use Carnaroli rice – the “king of the rice”; thanks to its particular characteristics and firm texture the Carnaroli grain maintains its shape during the slow cooking required for a perfect and creamy risotto. Our broad offering includes truffle oil and Parmigiano risotto, bay scallops with home made pesto and an inspired Vin Santo risotto with asparagus and prosciutto.

A taverna in Italy is a special place where customers become friends and family. Here we celebrate the essence of hospitality and farm-to-table cooking reflecting our authentic Italian style.

The fried calamari and shrimp were good but very under seasoned. We ordered the prosciutto and burrata pizza and it was super saucy and the crust was blonde and not crisp at all. The half price wine was great!

I went with a group of friends for prom and the staff were very accommodating of all of us (8 people). The staff were able to take all of our orders together and have them come out at the same time. The vibe was great and I will definitely come back another time.

Ordered the caprese salad-good but needed to ask for balsamic (didn’t come with) and added salt from the table!-this was good! Ordered the Arugula/Prosciutto pizza-very bland and hard to eat-lack of flavor they Should have wilted the arugula a bit before adding it to the top of the pizza…every bit it slide off onto our tiny plates they provided. Ordered the regular spaghetti-basic no frills for ($23) and side order of fries ($9) -this was very good. Also Ordered 2 expensive cocktails that didn’t have much alcohol in them and for $17 each and for that price they better have a kick! Probably won’t come here again. The cost of going out to dinner is just getting too expensive (even for special occasions) and the food is just not that good anymore! While getting our bill, we noticed our wait staff walking around with fresh Parmesan cheese…I guess we missed out on that too!
