Great Place!!!!! Going back tonight... Nice change of pace
Have come here on many occasions and we have always found it a great place to have a fantastic meal.
Very good food. Only complaint is my med rare steak was more on rare side and not hot..barely warm. Ate some and asked to heat up and it came back just slightly more warm. Other great food made up for this one issue.
Everything was great but the noise level was uncomfortable. Sound absorbing panels?!?
Whenever I am in the San Marco area I eat at Taverna. It never dissappoints!!!! This time was no exception. Discovered the grilled asparagus with mushrooms, bacon lardons, and a poached eggs. It could easily be top 10 dishes I have ever eaten. I may make it my meal next time..it was divine!!!! Thank you and will you please come to the beach - Atlantic Beach. We need you on our side of town.
Table and chairs where uncomfortable. Portions are small and overpriced. Wine selection was good.
I have been dining at Taverna for a long time now. I go there often because I like homemade food as opposed to frozen and canned. Bonus points because they spend as much effort on their salads and vegetables as they do with the entrees. I am a gluten free person out of necessity which is another reason I love Taverna, many of their dishes are gluten free.
Great birthday Dinner!
Wonderful staff and lunch was delicious.
My experience at Taverna was exquisite. The restaurant was busy so the service was lagging but understandable. Everything was perfect and the food was heaven in my mouth.
My favorite restaurant in Jax! Best cheese board!
Perfect for an afternoon business lunch and drink. Excellent customer service.
Everything was a positive experience at Taverna. Lots of great gluten free options (& non-GF), knowledgable staff, delicious food, good wine. Will definitely be going back.
Our waiter made our day! Max was incredible. The food was beyond good!!!
Once again great food, service, and ambiance. Havent been let down yet and hope I never will.
the food was excellent; the service was attentive but very inexperienced. we had to fill in the gaps with requests for basic service items as she had no idea what complete service was.
We ordered the margarita pizza as an appetizer, which lacked flavor. There was too much sauce. For the main course I ordered the hanger steak which came with fries. The steak was very tender, but again this was also lacking in flavor. It was in desperate need of salt. My companion just ordered the grilled cheese and all she kept saying was, “where was the cheese” and “there is only one type of cheese.” She was not very happy. All in all, I would say that this is an OK place to eat but I’m not sure I would go again. Flavor wise I give it three stars tops and that is only because the steak was very tender even though it lacked salt and flavor.
We enjoyed our business lunch at Taverna. The food and service were excellent. The only challenge was parking (especially on a Friday). I look forward to returning.
One of the best restaurants in Jacksonville. Not pretentious or stuffy, just a nice atmosphere with great food.
Sat outside had an amazing salad with Salmon on it. Second time back, great staff and atmosphere.
The food here is always excellent. They were very accommodating to my friend’s need (due to physical limitations) for a special chair. The waitress was helpful in choosing the wine, and even though I was willing to “take a chance” on a specific kind volunteered to bring me a (generous) taste. Also, even though the last two times we were there we arrived an hour before closing there was never any sense of being rushed out of the restaurant. Highly recommended!!
Very good food...bartender offered excellent service. Overall experience is always very good.
Amazing as usual!! Our favorite restaurant!
We dined here for Mother’s Day brunch, and were incredibly impressed with both the food and the service. The hostess and wait staff were very kind and accommodating. After reading the reviews about the noise level, I requested an outdoor table on our reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant, my mother indicated that it was too hot to sit outside, so the hostess changed us to an indoor table when we checked in. Unfortunately, that new table was a high top table. My mother has a disability and spinal injury that limits her mobility and requires the assistance of a walking cane. There was no way she would be able to climb up onto a chair at a high top table without severely injuring herself (though she would have made the attempt in order to prevent inconveniencing anyone at the restaurant.) I stopped her from trying to scale the tall chair at the table and returned to the hostess stand to ask for something in her size. The hostess was very kind and moved us to the original table outside. We sat outside for a few minutes waiting for our server, and I saw my mother beading up with sweat and looking a bit puny. Since we hadn’t even met our server yet, I thought I would make one more attempt to make my mother comfortable on Mother’s Day, and returned to the hostess stand. I apologized for being so difficult, and asked if there was any indoor seating that wasn’t a high top. Without balking, the kind staff studied the seating chart, shuffled a few things, then found a table inside that my mother could sit at. She was happy.
The food we ordered was delish! My husband and I both ordered Steak & Eggs. I asked for medium rare steak, and he asked for medium. Mine came out VERY rare, while his was cooked medium rare, but neither of us said anything. The dish was still excellent. My daughter ordered a burger, which looked and smelled wonderful. My mothered ordered the bananas foster French toast, and said it was “meh.” She said she couldn’t taste any egg in it.
Delicious birthday lunch with my friend. We both loved what we ordered. Great service, too!
Food and service was great! We were there for a birthday and they treated us so well with complimentary app and dessert! Such a nice touch and very much appreciated.
Ordered Mediterranean salad without onions . Came with & I picked out. Server & manager saw & made another for me to take home. Thought they handled that appropriately. Other restaurants need to take example of good customer service.
My wife and I come from Tallahassee to fly out from Jacksonville. We dine at Taverna whenever time permits. It's rare to find a menu in which nearly every item is desirable. Once again, we had a delightful evening. I do have two small suggestions relative to this last visit. We ordered a cheese and salami appetizer. Particularly in regard to the Monchego, I would suggest charging more and giving a larger piece. The platter itself was wonderful! Secondly, I had the pork ragu over fettucine. The sauce was slightly dry. I would suggest adding more tomato.( I don't think that the issue was overcooking the sauce.) These were both minor issues, which I would not bother to mention to the server. We truly love your restaurant!
Food was great as always. Great location for tasty Italian food.
Great food, good service, good outside seating.
Good fun. Great food. Excellent service. Great ambiancecwith so many also enjoying theirvtime at Taverna
Our server, Hunter, was perfect. Can't say enough about how wonderful he was. I do feel that I should bring something to your attention though. I made this reservation more than a week in advance. I n oted in the reservation that is was a special occasion, "Annual Reunion". (This was a dinner with out-of-town friends that see each other once a year. ) When we arrived, we were shown to a high top table in the bar/entrance area. We asked to be moved, but your hostess (white dress with black print) was both unfriendly and not accommodating. I had just heard her offer the group in front of us a choice of location. She then offered us a table right by the hostess stand (high traffic area). I have never had this issue before - my friends and I often eat dinner at Taverna and have always been provided either a booth or a booth/table in the upper level area of the restaurant. Ultimately we did receive a booth, it just wasn't without some attitude from your hostess. And again, I want to reiterate that Hunter was amazing and completely redeemed the whole experience.
just like to give a shout out to Lexi. fantastic service.
Thirty dollars for a bowl of pasta is a little much and ten dollars for a small watermelon salad pushes the price limits. However, the food itself was very good. Next time we go I will stick to the menu and forego the “pasta special”. A bowl of orecchiette was eighteen dollars and just as good. ( I have had it before.)
The food and service were excellent ! I would highly recommend.
had reservations and seated immediately but next to bar where it was quite loud, difficult to have conversation. Server came immediately and was quite nice and informative. Both wives had smoked chicken with was very good and meaty enough that both brought some home. Side of mixed vegitables was liked by one and not liked by other. Mussels and clams dish was excellent and sufficient. Pasta Buglienese (sp) was large , filling and good but a bit spicy for my taste even though I specifically said that I do not like anything spicy hot. (I think it was red pepper flakes) . Prices were high but about normal for this type restaurant.
