Appreciated the fact that they were open on a Sunday. Obviously not many people were out which was sad. But service, food and drinks were what we typically have come to expect. We had a very nice time and wish everyone the best in this trying time
Great gluten free options! Our server was great! Will be back.
Service was perfect and food was very delicious. My wife and I liked it so much we came back the next day for brunch.
Our server, Jack, is one of the best servers we have ever experienced anywhere. His attention to every detail and knowledge of the menu and wine list is a new standard. We had an enjoyable dinner complimented by Jack’s service ... a perfect evening!
We’ve gone to Taverna several times now, both brunch and dinner. Great location, nice food and good service. Recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice.
I think our server must have been new. We felt rushed to place an order even though the restaurant was not busy. He had a hard time opening wine. On second bottle of wine for the initial tasting of the bottle he poured in on top of existing wine in my glass instead of bringing a fresh glass. We had to ask for silverware when our meal came. We had to ask for bread 3 times. When entrées came out mine was lukewarm. We will not be returning to Taverna. Atlanta has too many good restaurants that are better than Taverna.
Our waiter was amazing! Food was also great, as usual.
I arrived, it was not crowded at all. The host wanted to sit me at this tiny 2 person table (was expecting a guest). I asked if I could move to a nearby half-booth 4 person table. He says okay, but he will need to separate the 2 tables as they were expecting a crowded restaurant that evening. There was a 2 person party sitting at a half-booth 4 person table upon my arrival. Shortly after, a couple sits down to my left at a half-booth 4 person table; however, they did not separate their table. A little while later a 2 person party sits to my right at a half-booth 4 person table; they did not separate their table either. WHY WAS I THE ONLY ONE THEY WANTED TO SEPARATE?!?!?!
Our waitress, McKenzie, was super nice however, they came within 5 minutes of one another so clearly there was no time in between to really enjoy each.
I had the Paglia E Fieno. The chicken was very bland and did not taste as if it was freshly cooked; perhaps sitting for a while then reheated. The dish only had 3 mushrooms on it and the sauce was not very creamy as I was expecting. I believe my guest had the Chicken Scallopine. Said it was good, just a little bland but very nice size portion. The bartender made Excellent Drinks!!!!!
At the end of our meal, the restaurant was not fully crowded as there were numerous tables still available so still not sure why the host wanted to have us at a tiny table, which clearly would not have been large enough since we had 4 plates on the table at the same time & 2 drinks as well as 2 waters...Was It Because We Were not caucasian?!?
Chuck the manager is amazing and Jack
Is the best server. Food is great
Given weak seating location on a cold patio near door and hostess stand. On a Saturday evening there were many many tables with super young kids (high chairs). This seems like a good family spot.
Food was average (ok). Pizza not exemplary. Wine pour amounts (by the glass) were a joke on the value scale.
Bar design and restaurant design are super nice and high end. If you’re a couple, sit at bar, it’s the only way to hear yourself.
great service and LOVE the ambiance! however, the margarita pizza was NOT margarita pizza! it was literally cheese pizza with basil STRIPS? very confused for authentic Italian food. However the gluten free crust is yummy! just stay away from ordering the ‘margarita!
All of our three meals were delicious! The GF pizza crust is actually good and crispy. Great place to lunch with friends and nice to be able to hear each other talk!
The food had very little flavor. My husband had a pizza and I had eggplant parm. The skin on eggplant was too tough to chew. We waited an hour to get food there was issue in kitchen. We asked about the issue 3 times and finally the manager advised of the kitchen back up and comped a beer. We also asked twice for bread and had to ask multiple times for water refills. Maybe it was an off night but for the price we won’t return anytime soon.
Literally my favorite restaurant. From their pizzas, pasta, and brunch, you can't go wrong!
I have been to Taverna before and had a fantastic experience. Great food and service. I had a friend in town this weekend and we went there for Valentine’s Day dinner.
Our server was great but unfortunately that was the only good part about the meal.
Yes, they were busy, but we waited a long time for our apps to come out. The Focaccia was extremely dry and crunchy. Not very dough like or soft as expected. Our pasta took what felt like 40 min to come out, and when we asked what was going on we were told there were issues and some sort of drama in the kitchen. We looked around the packed restaurant at one point and not ONE table had food. I’ve been out there on a packed night and never experienced anything like this.
When our pasta came out, the shrimp scampi tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while, and my friends pasta tasted like a bottle of vodka had been poured on it. She was offered a new dish, but it took almost 30 more minutes for a new replacement, we ended up taking it to go.
Only one dish was comped off of the bill, and while the servers were apologetic, it didn’t seem like much was being done to rectify the issues. Multiple people got up and left mid meal.
Very disappointing experience over all.
For a chill date night, Taverna is a great place to go. The noise level is high but then again adds to the lively environment. A few of the tables are very close together. The staff bumped into our arms and or table at least 4 times. You will not be disappointed by the food.
Best Spaghetti Bolognese we ever tasted ! Risotto was amazing and wine list was too .
I am not sure what has happened to this restaurant. I hate giving this review, but it was a really frustrating experience for us. We sat for 10 minutes before anyone came to our table because they were prepping for Valentine's Day evening. Everyone looked confused. Servers hanging out in the kitchen. Finally an experienced server came out and rescued us. She was great buy busy covering for all of the other confused servers. We ordered salad, appetizers, and a meal. All of it came out at once and we did not have room on the table so we could not finish our courses. My entre came out cool. It took a while to find a server to take it back. When it came back it was still cold. The food, other than my main course, was actually good. But the overall experience was not what we had hoped it would be. The server who took care of us, Marianne?, was very good and gave us a discount on our meal and a free appetizer. I am willing to try it again. It's just a shame to see how they are having hard times. Hopefully someone takes this to heart and makes improvements.
Inexperienced waiter who had no training, long wait times between drinks and meal, all 3 courses showed up within a few minutes so table was full of plates, average food, poor management as manager informed table that staff would begin setting up for the next day while we were still at our table. Won’t go back.
Enjoyed this meal!
We waited at our table for 30 minutes before receiving water or our drinks. We had to request service...no one acknowledged us for 20 minutes after we sat down.
32’ outside and the doors was open. The temperature in the place was cold for patrons. Service was less than desirable. Coffee continues to be cold after requesting better cup. Tables are too small for large parties.
Will not be returning. Bartender demonstrated arrogance after assuming that our cocktail was correct even after telling him EXACTLY what made the drink. Very disappointed in the turn of events. Was a regular but I’ll take our patronage where it’s appreciated.
The food is always great and flavorful! The portions are just right and sometimes we have leftovers!
Place is nice and convenient. Food was not so great. The pasta was way overcooked and the risotto was like mush. One order was wrong but we did not send it back. We have been before without any issues so I'm assuming it was an "off" night, however how can you go to a restaurant that is not consistent ? I will give it another chance, but there are many other options.
Great service but mediocre food for the price. Would have anticipated a fancier setting to match the prices. All apps were okay, not great.
This was my third or fourth visit. In our opinion, the food is average and could be better.
Food is average rustic Italian. What really put me off was how loud the place was. A table for two and couldn’t even hear my dining partner talk. Do not go on a date here, I would limit it to a group dinner where many drinks are involved.
Food is yummy. For an Italian place, they have so many options for gluten free needs. The service is always fantastic, warm, fun, and attentive. The location is in a great place. It is our go to place for easy, fun get together.
We waited for our daughter to land in phoenix and they let is stay for 3 hours
We were seated immediately in the dining room as requested. Service was impeccable. Food was outstanding. Ravioli and Risotto with mushroom and shrimp were both amazing. Would definitely go back.
Booths were very uncomfortable, food was very good.
Great food, cool place. The food tasted very fresh. Bruschetta was some of the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely go again.
All good except cold due to outside cold air from patio
Went with a friend, service was amazing! Loved the food. Wish there were more heaters on the patio, it was so cold
First time here & it was a classy & clean place, very sweet host seated us & great server, overall the staff was super sweet & helpful. The food was delicious & we only waited maybe 10-15 minutes for our food. We rarely go out to eat and usually get terrible service but we had a great time, thank you. Would recommend & will return!
This is our Tuesday night spot! Beautiful setting, Great food and 1/2 price bottles of wine!
I had high hopes but was disappointed.
PARKING. Get ready to walk as you have to park in a lower parking deck, walk uphill to a side street and back down the main road. There should have been a pedestrian pass-through from the deck side. Needless to say, it was windy and we froze getting to the restaurant door. One positive is they did validate the ticket. There is a valet option but it is still on the next block over so still a decent walk. I dont mind it myself but I had a disabled friend with me so it was a challenge for the longer, windy, rainy walk.
RESTAURANT. Restaurant was full and very loud so patrons kept getting louder trying to hear each other. The sample fried appetizer was very greasy. Seemed rushed to get out and was not crispy. Table ordered a Beet Salad salad to share and before we could get to it, they showed up with the main course dishes. Very rushed. The main server did not even know they brought over the food, so it appeared kitchen communication was not managed well. The dining room manager (not sure of his title) kept standing next to our table, since we were close to the host desk area, pointing over our heads giving loud orders like, "we need to get that table turned". That was somewhat annoying trying to hear over him. It seemed like they were more concerned about rushing people out so they could make more money, versus ensuring the patrons were served and happy. I had the Lamb Chop Special and they were tough and fatty. A table guest with me had a pasta dish with clams but they were so tiny, he had to keep digging around to find them. The only obvious ones were the few on top in the shells for decoration. The Creme Brulee came out heated..odd..and the sugar on top was liquid and not the typical burnt crunchy texture I was looking forward to.
At an average of $81 per person, I think we could have had a better experience elsewhere.
