   09/01/24 Service was way too slow. We waited 15 minutes after we sat down to give our drink order. Food is just so so.

   Great location-and they accommodated our request for by the window. Service was not good-did not clear plates in between courses. Never refilled water glasses. Didn’t clear dishes before coffee and dessert. Server tried to be pleasant but seemed over his head. In fact, didn’t ask if wanted coffee or dessert. Lingered a little bit with our friends and the owner? Manager? Kept standing in the doorway making us feel uncomfortable. If they had cleared the table maybe we would have left sooner. Food was ok.

   Service was lovely, food was alright, lovely space and outdoor dining was fun. Not only was our server, Tracey, great, but you could see that the other servers were just as attentive to their tables.

   We went to Tavern on the Bay because all the other restaurants had a long wait. There was a reason that there was no wait fir this restaurant The service was the slowest we have ever experienced. We are not super picky but the food was sub par. The portions and quality were not good for the price. I would not recommend or go back.

   Unfortunately for us, the Tavern was understaffed. We sat on the deck surrounded by tables that had not been cleared and were being visited by seagulls. Also, we waited an hour for a simple cocktail. Why didn't we leave? The other restaurants in Somers Point were not open on a Monday evening. When our food arrived it was prepared well and tasted fresh. The stuffed shrimp were delicious. The manager and one server on staff were very friendly, but could not handle the number of guests.

   We regularly dine here every summer. This visit was disappointing. The restroom was disgusting and there were ants crawling on both of our menus. Although we love the food here, we will have to find another spot.

    Went there tonight for my daughter’s birthday dinner. Nice atmosphere, good music, food was not so-so…Lobster bisque sooo salty. I’m sure it would’ve been better if it were served in a different and timely manner. The server Kelly was absolutely horrible. Honestly, we waited for almost 30 minutes to even get something to drink. Forget about the long time to order appetizers, salad and dinner. Thomas, who was the assistant Manager, was awesome. He could not have been more accommodating, friendly and most especially, professional in attempting to get us our drinks, food and whatever we needed. Caleb, the Manager was very understanding of the whole situation and handled business appropriately. All of the other staff members were so friendly, asking us if we needed anything, except for ours, Kelly. If you get her, don’t waste your time-just leave. She’ll completely ignore you too. But if you go there, look for Thomas. He’ll be sure that it is a good experience.
