The second level deck that looks out to the downtown skyline is the best seat in Indy, perfect for catching some sun over the lunch hour or dining with your friends on a beautiful Indiana evening. Had a great experience and fantastic waitress. The food was delicious and fairly priced. The food came out really fast which is a huge thumbs up in my book!
Found this place off the beaten path. Cute atmosphere. Great service...love when all servers jump into help others...makes for great camaraderie. Great food...portions not big, but our group shouldn’t need much to eat now that we’re older..plus it’s healthier to eat small meals anyway.
Had some great wine and beer. Would visit again!
I ordered a Salmon dish. The Salmon had been skinned, but still had the brown on the back that taste super fishy. The potion sizes reminded me of a tapas bar. We spoke to the server and he was very accommodating.
Great atmosphere good food with quick service. Small area..a little warm inside
Went before an Indians game and the food was great. Wasn’t as busy as we had expected which was good for wait time and noise. Restaurant was a little hot we did sit inside. Good beer options. Recommend the duck wings!
Dinner before the Indians game. The Tavern salad with blackened salmon is delicious!
Tavern on south was great and very close walking distance to Lucas oil stadium. Our food came out quick because we were in a rush and our service was amazing. Def recommend.
We had an awesome time at Tavern on South! Definitely sit outside on the upper deck if you can - beautiful view of the city. Our food was great - got the shrimp martini appetizer and buffalo cauliflower - perfect, shareable portions. The best part was our server though. Mara was AMAZING. She was fun, outgoing, and prompt. Her recommendations were spot on. We will definitely be back next time we are in Indy!
Excellent service and very friendly staff. We came on a day where there was a set menu that was the only con
The food was fair at best, the coffee was cold, the silverware did not appear to be very clean, there was lipstick on a glass, when we asked for the bill to be split, we each received a bill for the full amount of the bill instead of 1/3 or our portions. I would not recommend this place.
One of my favorite restaurants in Indy. Unique food creations with a phenomenal drink selection. Service is always on point.
Christine provides phenomenal service. The food was very good. On top of that it was an excellent an excellent location to watch the Fourth of July fireworks from after dinner. I’d go back in a heartbeat if I was a local.
Meeting up with family prior to the Indians game. Great location. Really enjoyed it!
Our server (Caroline?) was amazing! The seating was comfortable and it’s an attractive bar in a nice location. Food was good and a lot of it but a little on the bland side. But that is personal tastes. Dessert was excellent. Lots of local beer selections on tap! Would absolutely return!
Four diners all had salads with a protein...three with chicken, one with steak. Two if the chickens were a 'little dry.' The steak was well-done, dry and cold. When the replaced the steak it was then, very good. However, the cook who brought it out practically threw it down on the table and displayed some attitude. Our server was very nice, but I perhaps should have had a clue, when she never asked how I'd like my steak prepared. We have dined at this restaurant before, and liked it. This time was a little less enjoyable.
Very comfortable, great food and atmosphere. Perfect for downtown sporting events. One block west of Lucas Oil with on-site parking.
The food and service was good.
Great place for dinner will be back soon!!! We had a good weekend trip to indy!!!
great food, sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful night.
The crab dip appetizer was delicious! For our meal we had the fillet & everything including the grilled asparagus & potatoes were great! Our waitress was super attentive. We were served a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We'd definitely come again.
We went on a Wednesday so it wasn't very busy so it was fairly quiet, don't know how noise would be otherwise. The atmosphere was nice, we chose to sit inside. The outside seating on the upper decked looked nice as well. Our service was great and attentive without being too overbearing. The food was good and flavorful. I order the Seabass with red pepper potatoes and my guest order the sirloin tips. We both really enjoyed our meals. My fish was great but wasn't too keen on the tomato broth it was in as it had a bitter taste. We definitely will be returning.
This was our first visit to Tavern on South and we really enjoyed! The atmosphere is nice and the building is very interesting. I had the filet mignon meat loaf~excellent! My husband had the yellow fin tuna which he said was very good. We love that there is onsite parking. We will be back.
Great lunch specials and a nicer place to take customers.
Ordered the meatloaf dish. It was cold. Gave it back to Nicky to take back. She brought it back and the plate was warm, but the food was like warm, at best. Instead of giving me new food, all they did was put it in the microwave. She testified to this.
Awful! Won’t be back!
Have eaten here twice before and it was great!
We had reservations for a Saturday night. Arriving a bit early the hostess was able to seat us which was appreciated. From the outset, the service was slow. While the rooftop dining was full, most diners were at the end of their meal. We had a second server ask if we’d been helped that’s how long we sat. The food is good for the price. They let me swap out the choice of vegetable and were overall pretty flexible. The menu has a decent spread with pastas, beef, and seafood so most people would be able to find something they like. Our meal ended with a healthy portion of angel food cake. All in all, a good meal, but the inattentive service keeps me from saying it was a great meal.
First time visitor and Inlimed it. Ambience was great, food delicious and the beers were good. Service could have been a little more attentive, but it was nothing that would prevent me from another visit. Just a suggestion: maybe bring in some good cherries, such as Luxardo, for your Manhattans. And teach the bartenders to make a proper one.
Love this place! Great for business or pleasure. The parking lot makes its a #1 for me...
This place was next to our hotel and convenient. I went two times. The first trip I sat at the bar and the bartender had a bad attitude. Treated us like we were beneath her. Went back the next night with a larger group to be treated worse by our waiter. Food was fine and the wait staff is terrible.
Service was not terrible but not very good either. $16.50 for a Bison burger and fries. The fries were a very small portion. We witnessed our food delivered to the general area by kitchen staff and then left on a stand for the server to pick up, that took about 2 - 2 1/2 minutes which was long enough to loose heat to all the fries. Will not likely ever return. The night prior was burgers at High Velocity in the JW Marriott, not only les money but much better overall.
Second time that I've been here, but years apart since we have relocated from Indy. Great service and good food again. Really enjoyed our time there.
Our waitress was outstanding. The food was just ok. My salmon was over cooked. My friend said the sea bass was tasty, but not great.
Great service and appreciate the atmosphere. Got a couple salads for a business meeting and they were good, fresh. TOTS is convenient and cozy.
Overall good experience. The chicken in the chicken Milanese was really tough and chewy. My husbands salmon was really good. Thought maybe they might offer a dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary and they asked if we had a special occasion when we made the reservation but they didn’t. We will probably return when weather is warmer and sit outside.
The place can be loud of there's an event going on at Lucas Oil Stadium. Our reservation was set for 7 pm so it quickly got quiet when everyone left for the event. Our service was very good and we made sure to call ahead to see if they would accept our Groupon, which they did. We ordered the Filet Mignon. Mine was very good but my husband's looked and tasted like it was microwaved to finish. Very chewy for a medium rare steak. The mashed potatoes are no way shape or form a puree. I even had a chunk of potato the size of my wrist in mine. The asparagus was cooked well. Our dessert was the main feature of the entire meal. The creme brulee was amazing but it was chilled. It's supposed to be warmer. I wouldn't come back unless I had a Groupon again. I would never pay $34 for the meal we received.
Great food and great service. Will definitely be going back
Fabulous birthday lunch with colleagues. Professional excellent service coupled with an amazing crime brûlée for dessert! I enjoyed the quesadillas and friendly feeling. Thank you
Our first time here and we will be back. Everything was beyond fantastic!
French fries were under cooked and greasy, Fried fish was greasy, Pork tenderloin was great, waitress never checked on us after food was delivered and added someones else's drinks to our bill.
I’ve been to tavern on south before and the food was good and beer was great this time not so much. We waited an hour for a completely raw burger (to raw to eat) and a shrimp salad that was delivered with grilled chicken instead of shrimp. They where very packed and hopefully next time things will be better.
