Food was outstanding; especially the croque monsieur French toast. Wonderful desserts. Extensive selection of all types of dishes. Next time, will ask to be seated closer to the buffet; instead of out in the back of beyond. Also, would prefer to have avoided the party with crying babies, which was seated RIGHT NEXT to our table. My suggestion to management: PLEASE SEAT FAMILIES WITH SMALL CHILDREN IN THEIR OWN SECTION, AWAY FROM EVERYONE ELSE. Would prefer to enjoy a meal in peace and not have to listen to whiny brats. Their screaming added to the noise level in restaurant, which was already intense. At times, it was challenging to find out waitress for coffee refills, too. Knowing all this, will definitely approach my next visit to Tavern in the Square differently.
I really enjoyed it the food was great and the service was great. Definitely going back
We were in a small group. The fish and chips I ordered was very good, the fish had a flavorful coating and good texture, and was a generous portion. We were allowed to substitute a salad for the fries. While the salad was a bit modest, it provided an option.
Wait staff was pleasant and helpful, courteous. Nice interior design, on the louder side but attractive.
Clam chowder and Truffle Tater tots great! Burger was decent, little charred on outside. Buffalo Mac cheese creamy with blue cheese crumbles. I think it would be better without the crumbles...little overpowering. Service was very good.
Controlled Chaos. It was great, food was delicious. One confusion was who our waitress was. We were seated, waited a while and asked a random server who our waitress was for drinks prior to going up to the buffet.
Amazing food and fantastic service. Incredible fish and chips!
Their brunch is outstanding, priced at a reasonable $20.
Excellent buffet! Amazing food choices and service. Great location and price! Will definitely go back
Host/hostess very pleasant and welcoming
Waitress, distracted, not attentive
Bus boy cleaned off table while we went to get breakfast, we had only been there 10 minutes
Good was good
Fun atmosphere. Good food. Our waitstaff was very attentive.
The staff at Tavern in the Square is great! Our waiter, Alex was pleasant and so accommodating. The food was ready quickly and was delicious!
Billy was a great waiter and was very accommodating to make sure our lunch was going well.
Tavern in the square has a nice relaxed feel to it.
But more importantly was the food.
The wife and I both had burgers, and they were very tasty.
Unfortunately we did not have room for desert.
The Sunday was calling to me.
Maybe next time
Tavern in Burlington is consistently good food, great service and a decent price. I've been many times and plan to go many more. It's conveniently located to shopping, the movie theater and route 128. The kale and quinoa salad is yummy...I even didn't mind the beets (which I don't like). The Caesar salad is always good...crisp, fresh lettuce and they don't drown the salad in dressing. The mac and cheese is a cheesy, gooey guilty pleasure. The side order of it with a salad is plenty of food. I didn't get the burger this time, but the burgers are consistently good there as well...juicy and done the way you like them. Only one tiny flaw...there's no bread. Tavern should consider crusty rolls or another style of bread to serve as an appetizer. Makes the restaurant seem cheap and fast food like without it. Otherwise, a great place to grab a meal, watch a game or just hang out. I'll be back!
A dynamite Sunday Brunch experience that is a great value for eaters of all types and lovers of breakfast offerings, lunch options, and desserts! Everything we tried was fresh and tasty and although a very popular Brunch destination, it never felt rushed or crowded.
Dinner was great but the accoustics at our booth were very poor. It was difficult to carry on a conversation with the people across the table. Even the waitress noted that the booth we were in and the booth behind us had very bad accoustics and even she had a problem hearing the customer.
We had a person in our party with an allergy to gluten and they were beyond helpful and the food was delicious.
We went out on a Saturday night to get some food and drinks with friends and the service was awful. We had to ask many times for things like silverware, clean napkins, more water/drinks, extra plates etc. At one point we asked for extra plates for sharing food and we received dirty plates. The waiter apologized for that and gave us new clean ones. We ordered Nachos and a Pizza, and the food came out on time and without any issues. But when we ordered desserts, they came out wrong and had to be fixed. One of my friends asked for a small dish of ice cream with strawberries and some strawberry sauce, it came out without anything on it. We got a cookie skillet and by the time it got out to us, the ice cream had completely melted making it hard to eat. When we asked for spoons for our dessert-they told us they were looking for spoons because they had run out. They gave us forks instead. We had to ask the waiter a few times to clear the plates and menus off the table at one point because we ran out of room. The manager came by to talk to us and when we told her about our experience, she comped us our deserts. However, she only took off one when we had told her that both the desserts had come out wrong. We had to talk to her again to have her take both the desserts off.
Overall, the food was good, and we had a good time going out but the service was really poor.
Tater tots were cooked a little too much but the chicken was great. Good service and gluten free options.
Warm welcome and great service!
Nice experience, great food in a fun setting
Was a bit dark and loud, but food and service were great.
Food was awesome and we were not rushed even though it was Valentine’s Day. Servers were kind to (and safe around!) my children as well.
Waited a long time to get the meal....steak overcooked, risotto was dry and overcooked. Overall a very poor experience and we will not return
My daughter’s birthday
Very good Friendly service we will go back
Food was average, drinks too expensive.
Our party of 6 had a great time with good food and outstanding service.
Very busy so service a little slow but not bad. They were careful about my allergy (fatal). Food was tasty. Loud. Didn’t realize it’s essentially a sports bar before booking.
I went for brunch and The dishes were dirty with four particles and red salude on them. It was gross. The food was cold and not very good. My first and last time there.
Jeeze what a dump, even for a sports bar. Walls and walls of TVs, uncomfortable chairs, sticky tables and people being really loud. The food is just straight-to-the-recycling bin trash, including the limp lettuce salad, which is quite a feat. Service was great, though.
Food was a great value, service was excellent. Only issue the host at the front was a bit rude when we first walked in. Great place for a beer and sandwich near the mall.
Good place for traditional bar food and drinks.
Food variety was fantastic but felt there early as it is not replenished after noon and most is dried up in chafing pans by then. Fresh omelets are available if you want to order and wait. Only water and "Coke products" are included with buffet. All juice, tea, coffee etc... are extra. Service is so-so.
I ordered the chicken picatta. It was aweful. The pasta was stuck together, like it had been sitting under warmer lights for a while. The chicken was bland. I got together with a couple of friends I hadn't seen in a while and the server was great. She gave us time to catch up and chat. She checked in on us and was not overbearing.
A friend raved about Tavern in the Square so we met another couple for dinner. Our server came over right away. Hubby asked for water for both of us and off he ran, never giving a chance to add another drink to that order. This was a consistent issue all evening. Food was good but nothing to rave about. But the noise level was awful. It was very, very loud. If someone is looking for a quieter place to eat, this isn't it. But the food was okay.
The food was tasty but not amazing. My drink A+ for presentation, but tasted the same--good, but not great. I think it needed a little more kick. (I got the Snowbird).
Very loud and energetic. Not a bad thing, but I did find it a little draining after a time.
Staff was so attentive, I was starting to wonder if they were trying to nudge us out--we were there catching up for several hours. They sat my party of three at a large table for six, and there were MANY tables still open when we sat. I'm not sure why they gave us the big table. I never looked around and thought they might need the table--I'm very aware of that sort of thing--the place was hopping but there was never a visible line or an absence of tables. So I *think* they were just really attentive, but I honestly could have used a little more space. It felt like every five minutes someone was asking us if we were all right.
The selection of beers was top notch!
Great food. Nice, busy atmosphere. Excellent service.
